    I Am getting one. To Melt 🫠 my copper, brass, aluminum, and so on. I have looked for a video on melting brass without flux can't find anything so u may give it a shot with and without. But thanks for the walkthrough 😃 now i know what to look forward to.

      That's great! Definitely get new crucible tongs or make your own like I have in the video. I have a few videos coming out in the next few weeks where I melted brass. With a smaller furnace. I didn't use any flux.

    "Because this is a brand new crucible, I'm going to heat it up very slowly"... Immediately proceeds to heats it up very fast.
    FYI a slow 'proper heat' of a new crucible (according to e.g. manufacturers of "Mammut crucibles") should take about 2 hours to slowly ramp up to reach 200°C. Then it will have been safely dried and you can go nuts. A kiln or an oven is better suited for this than a gas furnace.

      Yeah I only had the burner half open. It definitely heated up much faster than I would have liked. I usually put it in my house hold oven for 1hr. It worked out well in the video though, no issues. I've already used it a number of times since.

    Nice. I have put some thought into getting a 2 burner. Wonder what the difference in gas use is compared to how fast everything melts

      @HeinrichsMade  3 месяца назад +1

      Well that I don't know, but You really only need 2 burners for forging. As you can see in the video once, I heated it up I turned off the second burner.

    for the price, may have to pick one up down the road, but not sure I need yet another one around, but would be nice having a light one vs the 5000 pound one I have now :)

      Yeah it's SUPER CHEAP!!! It's huge and light weight. It definitely beats a 5000 pound furnace 😂

      Yeah buddy! I'll be using this for most of my videos now. I can pour more than 1 thing. Yeah I'd say it's as big as yours. It looks like it could fit a larger crucible as well.

    how much LP gas did you burn to melt that.

    • @HeinrichsMade
      @HeinrichsMade  3 месяца назад +2

      Not much... I don't measure how much I use. I just know that 20lbs of LP gas lasted me over a month using it.

      @@HeinrichsMade good to know. the cost of propane has been the hold up with me getting or building a melting furnace. i would use a waste oil burner if i wasnt in a residential area.

      @@HeinrichsMade i havent bought propane in forever and a day, i fill my tanks at work for free. and my grill is hooked up to the NG off my house... but since washington has one of the highest gas taxes in the country i'm pretty sure its not cheap.

    The forge setting honestly seemed rather unimpressive, I expected better than that dull red.

      If I left it in there longer I know it would have gotten there. Also, don't forget it is a large diameter furnace. Maybe bringing the steel higher and closer to the foam would heat it quicker.

    Can you send a link for Ingot mold? You used thank you for making this video ! Received my vevor 2 days ago…where did you buy it ? Thanks 🙏

      That's great you got your furnace! I'm sure you can't wait to use it. I actually purchased the ingot mold a year or so ago. I don't remember where I got it. However you can just type in graphite ingot mold on amazon or google and find one. They come in different shapes and sizes. Also check out some of my other videos. I do lost foam casting and that is super easy.
