- Welcome to my in-depth review of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 SUV. Is it worth the price? This vehicle combines luxury, performance, and technology to create the ultimate driving experience (at least it tries to). TLDR: decent interior (but kind of a scam because you have to pay for optional things like heated front seats and 10.25 inch screen to make it nice). Drives like a eh-handling SUV with weird brake feel according to my partner here on the channel, who drove it for the past few weeks.
Starting with the exterior, the GLB 250 boasts a sleek, grown-up, stylish enough design that tries to catch your eye. Its boxy shape gives it a unique look that sets it apart from other SUVs in its class. Inside, the cabin is spacious and sophisticated, with premium materials and advanced features that will make you feel like royalty. You can seat up to seven passengers with the optional third row, which I recommend you only fit children or really small adults in the third row.
Under the hood, the GLB 250 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that provides smooth and precise shifts during acceleration (watch to find out about braking/slowing down). The base GLB 250 does not feature all-wheel drive (which enhances traction and stability in all driving conditions), you'd have to upgrade the trim level to the 4MATIC or the AMG GLB 35 to get all-wheel drive.
The GLB 250 is also packed with advanced safety features, including Active Brake Assist (automatic emergency braking), Adaptive braking technology, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist, and cruise control. It also comes with a host of cutting-edge technologies, such as a 10.25-inch infotainment display (with the optional premium package) and gauge cluster that's very customizable, voice recognition, and smartphone integration such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Overall, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 is an exceptional SUV that delivers on many levels (if you can spend extra money to get optional features), with some limits.
If you're in the market for a top-of-the-line SUV, the GLB 250 should be on your list if you have cash on hand, and don't mind the body roll. So, what are you waiting for? Watch my full review to learn more about this vehicle and see why it's a game-changer (spoiler: the base price is relatively low) in the luxury SUV market. Some of the competitors of the GLB 250 are the Volvo XC60, Land Rover Discovery Sport, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo S90, Lexus NX, Audi Q5, Lexus ES, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, BMW 5-Series, etc.

Hello! Thank you so much. Check out some of my other vids :)
Interesting observation of the braking.
Much Applause to this review 👏👏👏.

Thank you! Much appreciate it
Very detailed and helpful review! Any suggestions of choosing between GLB and GLC?
Thank you so much! I have not been in the GLC so I cannot give you a good answer unfortunately. All I have are specs online and watch other reviews which you have access to as well. The GLC has a different design, and other spec differences. I would go check one out in person!
I got this very same car with 15k in options. Very practical, upscale (coming from a 2021 RDX). We lost some cargo space, but we are happy with the “Mercedes” experience so far.
Keep in mind that tech, luxury touches like the pano roof, and wood. Will cost extra, and it will end up costing more than a similarly equipped Lexus or Acura product.
Thanks for watching and the feedback Sammy! I’m glad you’re enjoying your GLB 250. This is my first time being in a Mercedes (let alone most other luxury vehicles!) and here (and the video of course) are just my personal thoughts: What most surprised me was the base infotainment screen that you would’ve got if you didn’t pay for the Premium Package. The base 7 inch screen really looks too ridiculous with the small display and huge bezzles. I’ve been in economy cars most my life and the screens don’t look like that. And having never been in a luxury vehicle, I just thought luxury vehicles already come with the nice stuff. And that 40k price tag for this car was really an entry way into the brand name only but not really true luxury.
I very much value… value in things, and I personally wish manufacturers should include more things for the price.
@@wujolie I think you will find more value in Lexus, or Genesis (though Genesis cars are now priced in that sub $80k Mercedes category for their SUV models). Genesis certainly offers a lot more luxury than a similarly priced Mercedes. Lexus and Acura not quite as much. Our RDX began to have squeaky sounds in the roof during road bumps and similar street obstacles at the 10,000 mile range. The Mercedes GLB seems out right like a better put together suv in terms of materials.
That said, I have discovered that paying for Audi, BMW or Mercedes, will cost you about $5k more than a better tech and feature equipped Lexus, or Acura, mostly because you are also paying for that ( in this case) prestigious and historic Mercedes badge.
It doesn’t seem fair, and as you say, for the price point, the 10 inch screens should be standard, as well as the pano sun roof and premium sound system in my opinion.
The $40k tag on European luxury vehicles sounds good, until you are at the dealership and realize that it will cost you at least $10k more to get the “luxury” experience you were expecting going in.
@@sammyg4806 Exactly! Very much agreed. And dang, sorry about the RDX build quality. Manufactures should also nail down the build quality and the little rattles and such given the high price! Thanks for all this great info. On the other hand, I do very much love my gen 4 Mazda 3, which is affordable but much more luxury feeling than some of its competitors, and has good driving dynamics
For the Pano sunroof, aside from the nylon cover that we can see in the video, is there anything else to cover the sun????
I believe that’s it
hi I am the glb 220 style version owner,I can’t agree your opinion anymore ,especially the steering feel, and I think the interior plastic feeling is too much,is good for family daily car
a VERY good review ! \uuu/
Thank you!
Is third row practical for a petite person ( 5 feet 3 inch)? For longer 2-3 hour drive? Thanks.
No i would say not. I am 5’2 and a 2-3 hr drive would not be comfortable for me
It’s doable, but not comfortable by any means
@@wujolie Thanks. Is it possible, practical to put rear-facing child seat for a few month old child in the third seat?
That I’m not sure. I’m sorry! Best to try at dealership yourself
Nice young lady, great review! 😊
Thanks!
Hi wanna ask you what does the mean “d”of glb 220d
Diesel
Terrible review.
Thanks for watching. Any constructive feedback?
SEEMS LIKE YOUR THE ONLY ONE IN AMERICA THAT HAS A ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL I HAVE WENT TO MULTIPLE SITES AND THE REVIEWS ARE 4-5 STAR
Just personal experience!
See what Consumer Reports says about it. I can assure you it isn’t a 4 or 5 star review since they get nothing from a dealership or manufacturer.

Also, which America? South? Central? North?
