Saved me from returning the device. I thought you had to use the supplied power cord and when its plugged into a power source it doesn't work. thankfully I stumbled on your video. helped a lot thanks !!
Thank you, Vince, I just purchase one that is pretty much identical to yours from Amazon. It looks like I am the 1st one to buy so it is nice to know my money was not wasted!!. I hope this comment can be read because something is wrong with either my keyboard or RUclips's printing (all garbled). Anyway thanks again!
If you are using this to power your PS4 please use the usb cable to power the hdmi Switcher because if you don’t your screen will flicker from what your playing to Black every ten seconds. Thanks for the info Vince, this proved very handy.
That's great Vince, thanks. I had connected it up correctly but I needed your video to show me that I needed to then go to the TV remote to put it to HDMI 1. So simple now you've explained it.
For a retro gamer and a collector who also likes to play all of his games, this boi is AWESOME. I picked up some AV to Hdmi adapters and i made my ultimate gaming setup possible.
When I plugged my nintendo switch into my hdmi switcher, it doesn't work even though my PC works with it. any help? EDIT: I got it to work by turning off the "HDMI Auto Switch" feature on my BenQ monitor.
And your BenQ monitor was plugged into what? Your Switch or the PC? I'm having the same problem. PC has two displays connected to it. BenQ monitor using DVI and HDMI to TV (using Switcher like in the video). PS4 goes to the Switcher too using HDMI but TV only reads the PC and not the PS4. It used to work fine before but we moved, changed our setup and got a newer TV so I'm wondering what's wrong.
Hell yeah, I already knew of these hence looking on RUclips for a reliable one with a remote, so your link is much appreciated bro! And showing the reliability too. Thanks
Thanks, my TV already had a HDMI switch but while fault finding a problem with the sound bar the connections got mixed up. All OK now as the output to the TV is in the right socket now! Many thanks
I've got the same model you got bud it doesn't work unless I have 2 working inputs at the same time, my pc and ps4 on an lcd monitor. Is this something has to do with the 5v cable as I'm not connecting any?
I actually use one of this on my single port 1080p monitor to plug my androidtv box, ps3, ps4, pc, and xbox360, all worked fine. though I modded mine to cut out the 5v rail on each hdmi port to avoid backfeeding on other HDMI source as a lot of them are just shared on single 5volt rail on the hub.
I have that 5to1 HDMI selector model + IR cable and remote like yours but my own works without the USB power cable. On my 5to1 HDMI selector: . Input 1: Blu-ray Disc player . Input 2: AVtoHDMI converter (connected to the 4to1 AV selector with my SNES and N64 systems hooked on to it) . Input 3: Nintendo Wii . Input 4: Nintendo Switch . Input 5: Not in use (Fully tested and works)
note whilst this works with 1080p displays I would tend to go into either an 8x4 matrix switch or avr, as you will need a power source to run them on a hdmi2.0 capable hsrdware as there will not be enough power from the hdmi

Hey vince I want to control all my consoles & top boxes from a cabinet in my living room into the one living room tv using a single hdmi cable an this device but also be able to send the signel from the boxes to other bedrooms in the house? can I connect this device to a hdmi splitter then off to the TVs in different rooms?
Hi, yes you can. Connect the consoles/Set top box etc. to the HDMI switch and then the output of the HDMI Switch to the Input on the HDMI Splitter and it will distribute via HDMI leads the console or whatever is selected on the HDMI switch to every room. The problem is then using the remotes/controllers in all the different rooms as often the signals do not reach.
I was thinking of getting a harmony hub & Alexa in each room to then get over that problem. what would you suggest to use the remotes? I know how to do the USB over Ethernet for console controllers

You might need to add power. There is normally a little 5V DC jack on the side. Certain things like the PS4 normally need power to make them work properly :-)
Hi there. Just curious what would you use to make a laptop have more hdmi ports? I have a dual monitor and laptop working. But my laptop hdmi port is taken because it’s being used for the monitor to do the dual screen. I need more ports so I can connect my sons switch, pa4 & Xbox. Without interfering with the dual screen that’s set up.
One question though, can I invert it and connect one input to up to 5 different outputs? Say you have a TV and a Projector, could you use it to switch between those 2?
Is it possible to buy one with more than 1 output? I bought a $9 splitter from Amazon with 1 input and 4 outputs as I need to run HDMI from my laptop (burnt out screen) to 2 TVs that I'm using for computer monitors however, I've discovered that I can't set it to extend display in order to allow me to drag windows across the 2 screens. According to comments on splitter tutorials, I need a switcher, not a splitter. It shows both tvs as display 2 instead. I need one as display 1 and the other as display 2. I can't seem to find one on Amazon with more than 1 output on a switcher though which is a problem for me. I can't afford anything super expensive either.
Hello is there a way prevent this signal automation to change inputs temporarily? EDIT: I found a way to program channel 1, 2 and 3 buttons to my programmable silvercrest 10-1 remote control so i can control the changes there.
I bought a 3 switch version of this, as my second port on the TV is faulty. It works ok on the switch, but the remote/IR doesn't work, but that's not an issue. My main gripe is that the device switches input on power up. This would be fine, but it means when I'm watching on my FireStick, and my Freesat Box powers on intermittently to poll for remote recordings (which it does every 15 mins, as there appears to be no WoL functionality!), it switches to this! I can't see any way to stop it switching on power-up, so it's basically useless.
Hi, My Mate VINCE, great day! May I ask for your help or from other people here. I have a similar HDMI Switch with infrared remote but no DC 5V power adaptor included. Amazing video mate. I have the same device, I could get the hdmi working but my remote is not working when using to switch the channels. I have plugged in the IR to the device, do I need to connect it somewhere for the remote to work ?

I notice that you didn't connect the power adapter and neither did I on mine and the unit works just fine. What is the power adapter for? If the unit works without it, why do they include it? Good video, thanks!
Another option is to connect your TV to a receiver. I have 5 ports on my TV, but only use one. My receiver has 7 inputs. When for example a gaming console is turned on, it automatically switches to that channel and turns the TV on. So no need for a dedicated HDMI switcher remote. This is also better for cable management.
I had a DVR recorder, but now spectrum says we need hdmi da to watch as all signals are scrambeled n the dvr has only 1 hdmi outlet, will a splitter let me record on the dvr while im watching a different channel?
I'm looking to run a hdmi out from my pc and have a switcher so i can choose between my monitor and my big screen, will this help me? As of now i gotta go behind my pc and switch hdmi cables around
Okay, makes sense. One question. I have two PC's. And two monitors. I want to switch between these 2 pcs. But I only have one output, so I cannot connect to two monitors. Right? So it only works for 1 monitor, correct?
Joe Gee3 19 hours ago I bought the Zetta guard 5 way HDMI switch. when I plug in the device None of the lights go on. I've tried it on different outlets, same result. I plugged my Firestick into the back of the device and plugged in an HDMI extension from the Zetta to my TV still no power lights or input lights. My TV doesn't recognize that there is something plugged into the port. The Firestick works great when i plug it into the TV directly. It seems that I don't have power going into the Zetta. I sent one back and got a new one and just tried it and no luck. Its a simple device but i must be doing something wrong.

Didn’t quite understand where the infra red was plugged into, if it was plugged into any where.
it was plugged into the side of the HDMI switch (2:00) it is labeled IR and you just plug it in there
I had a DVR recorder, but now spectrum says we need hdmi da to watch as all signals are scrambeled n the dvr has only 1 hdmi outlet, will a splitter let me record on the dvr while im watching a different channel?
Thank you sir, your video was very well informed
Hey Vince' I'm excited you showeed this! My tv comes with 2 soo I've been looking for this device. Where can I get it??
Hey, Amazon and eBay have them :-)
It was very helpful. Thank you very much.
Nice review, thanks! :) I've one too, you're right, it works perfectly for multiple sources! Is yours still working? Do you use the same (since 2016)?
I'm looking to run a hdmi out from my pc and have a switcher so i can choose between my monitor and my big screen, will this help me? As of now i gotta go behind my pc and switch hdmi cables around
Thanks for sharing! I'll purchase the same brand on my off days!
Okay, makes sense. One question. I have two PC's. And two monitors. I want to switch between these 2 pcs. But I only have one output, so I cannot connect to two monitors. Right? So it only works for 1 monitor, correct?
This product would only work for one monitor.

I bought the Zetta guard 5 way HDMI switch. when I plug in the device None of the lights go on.
Thank youuuuu, Vince
was forced to a tv with a single port, checked out 1 2day with an extra cable - 4 xb1/ p4. Any advice?
I have my set up with a hub switch. the problem I’m having is my fire stick how can I get that to be hooked up because I only have two HDMI ports and currently both of them are being used. So I’m not sure how do I hook up my fire stick without having to unplug one of my HDMI ports?
