I'm 58 and I had these plastered all over my bedroom door when I was kid. I was obsessed with these damn cards. The 70's was a GREAT time to be a kid !! Evel Knievel , smiley faces, pet rocks, chia pets, mood rings, earth shoes, Farrah fawcett poster, black lights, incense and Led Zeppelin always on my turntable.
I thank God my mom told me to keep all of them and never sell them and I didn’t, so I still have my full collection! This is a great video awesome collection👏
Smart mom! There are too many stories over the years from moms throwing out treasured things like baseball cards and wacky packs after their kids move out.
I'm 51. Born in 1970. This video almost brought tears to my eyes. These cards were huge when I was a kid, like anyone else around my age. We all remember that these things were so funny when they first came out. This vid is like a time machine. Wacky packs found their success in mocking corporate branding.
Wacky packs and baseball cards were a huge part of my childhood. Holding onto these wackys always takes me back to those fun younger years every time I look at them. Such great artwork and humor in so many of them. All-time classics.
I am now 52 years old and these were some of my favorites I used to get them in sticker form and they were stuck all over my desk my books my bicycle and my good old lunch box nice collection big guy
I made this video a few years ago as a way to share my wacky packs with a friend but am so glad that so many others have been able to enjoy it, too, and reminisce. I completed the first 15 series as a kid but never saw the 16th series since they didn't release it in our area so a friend and I were able to pick up a box in '91 from a card dealer and were able to complete two 16th series sets from the box when mixed with my friend's own 16th series partial collection. We used to advertise for sales of our doubles back then that we used to pick up other wacky's that we wanted or needed and actually were pretty well known in the wacky pack world back then, which we found pretty amusing. Our running joke became, "No Ludlows!" when so many people asked if we had any of the early stickers that had the camel on the back sheet of the card. There's a small but obsessed group of collectors who care about that sort of thing.
I'm sure it's in great condition. In the early 90s, a friend and I bought an unopened box of 16th series from someone and opened the packs and put them straight in the protective folder so they've barely been handled. PSA charges so much to grade anything these days though.
It was a different time. I'm 56 and my mother used to send me to the corner store on my bicycle to buy her a pack of cigarettes. She would give me an extra dime to buy myself a couple packs of Wackys.
I was obsessed. I started collecting during the 4th series and my cousins sent me 1-3. I didn't get many of the 4th but I recognize every one of the 5th series. most of 6. some of 7..more of 8 for some reason. Much less of 9. CENTS for sure. 10th I only remember Bum Beggar Beans, Rudens and Uncle Bum's rice. 11th only Gulp oil , Cult 45, Bash and Fib. i don't recognize any of the 12rh or 13th. .I wonder if that is a West Coast issue or a growing up and chasing girls issue? I have never seen any of the 14th & 15th series even in restrospective. Those are some funny ideas. Thanks for showing the 16th. I had heard of them but never saw any. This was great. I'll bet your photo pages are by 20th Century Plastics. lol
My mom threw out a lot of my collections of things ... especially stickers stuffed in cardboard boxes. But now I don't have to buy a book or collect them back. I can always come to this video and experience a full collection.
@@Corporations8MyBabyglad to help! I started collecting in the 4th series, too, when I was in 4th grade when I first saw them in 7/11. I had to go back and get the earlier ones where I could find them. Never saw the 16th series till I bought a box with a friend in the early 90s and we were both able to complete a set for each of us.
The first wave was in 1973. A single pack was 20 cents . I don't recall which ones were "hard to find" BUT , DAMN that "Duzn't Do Nothing" , "Maddie Boy" and "Corned Beef Hash" were in every single pack ! Over and Over..... I had Lavirus and Band Ache , no problem. I collected them up to the 5th series or so . I did miss out on some GREAT ONES: G.I. Toe, Shot Wheels, Playskull, Killy Putty , Ghoul Humor. You have some ones here that I never saw before !!
A friend and I used to run ads in comic books selling our doubles and looking for ones we still needed to complete our sets. We found a guy in San Francisco who sold us an unopened box @1990. We had so much fun opening the packs and splitting them up to complete our sets. I'd never even seen most of them. My friend sold his 16th series @5 years ago for $1300. I bet he wishes he held onto it longer. I can't bear to sell my singles and I still have a bunch of doubles.
Hi, I came across some wacky packages cards. I followed along your video and it looks like I have cards from series 2 and series 3. But not sure at all what they are worth.
I always loved collecting them and could never bear to part with them. My set was almost complete as a kid in the 70s but I completed the rest of it in the early 90s, like the 16th series, which was never released in my area.
@@oskibear1988 right, I haven’t seen quite a few of those. I guess ours ended up on notebooks, headboards of the bed, and the on the fridge in the 70’s, at 55, we thought we’d never get old either, how wrong I was lol.
I used to buy em at this grocery store for a quarter each.. I still have the one series where the Stupid Moron bros is in there and the Donkey nose pizza.. Idk if you know about it sir
The 16th (final of the original) series is, by far, the hardest to get and the most expensive. A near mint full 16th series with complete puzzle will likely set you back $2k. The other series can usually be found in the $150 - $300 range. As with all trading cards, condition plays a huge factor.
What series were the post awful bits, and the captain cried. I did not see them as you were going through. I may have just not been paying close enough attention though.
Those are the newer ones from 1991. These are the originals from the 60’s & 70’s. Back when the artwork was much better. I don’t think the newer ones have as much character. Just my opinion.
@@lansesteiner3563 yeah, the newer ones produced after the original 70's 1st-16th series aren't nearly as good. I have a bunch of them but can't really get into them the same way.
I remember having a lot of those back in the 70's. Some of them still make me giggle.

I wanted them because they're funny and I have little 3D versions

I had a bike covered with them. Sure wish I still had it. But I only put my doubles and triples on anything, never singles.

Garbage Pail Kids.
"LOG CAVE-IN"
F-ING EPIC!
You are showing me my youth. Unfortunately I just stuck them all over my dresser and room. I am envious of that collection.
Same here
The rule was only use doubles as stickers and only put baseball card doubles in your bike spokes, never singles!
This is Rad. Never knew these existed. I collected OG Garbage pail from 84-88. Still have them. Thanks for the video
so cool i remember this in junior high in the 80's i had so many
