Into the wild is my favourite movie of all time and always will be, Eddie vedders songs and lyrics are incredible, I always think of Chris and he was a big inspiration for me, after watching the movie I went and got camping equipment and started wildcamping here in the u.k, it changed my life, thank you Chris and eddy too
These songs carried me on a similar journey as Christopher across the continent in 2016. I was 18, had $500 and a backpack. Hitchhiked east coast to west coast, snuck into almost a dozen national parks, longboarded a majority of the PCH, made daily random life affirming connections, and shivered under cold and lonely mountain moons. The memories these songs color bring tears to my eyes. I needed to become a man on my own terms. What joyous, bittersweet, wonder filled, deeply difficult, and heart-achingly beautiful experience.
I did something similar in 93-94 but I think I started out with about $60. I got a gig at a carnival for a bit. The manager there really seemed to care about me. I moved on to New Orleans, then Venice Louisiana where a couple of different families took me in. I met a Cajun couple who’d lost a son my age at the time in the 70s to a motorcycle crash. We became like family and saying goodbye was hard. And on and on.
When I die I want whomever I leave behind to play a few songs from this soundtrack as they pour my ashes into to the Pacific Ocean. The sounds created by this man, singing these songs, are imbedded in my soul.
Being free feels awesome, unfortunately my parents don't allow me to travel anywhere even with my friends. I'm planning to visit awesome places in the future after completing my college
Eddie Vedder has so much soul. Sometimes I wonder that he's an old soul who finds beauty in lifetimes that others might judge, or deem sad, even wasted. ...He just strikes me as being somehow able to revel in it all through his music. And everyone else gets to feel it as well.
Well said, every time I hear him,I can’t even begin to put words to the feelings and emotions I feel. Greatest songwriter, guitarist and vocalist of all time in my mind❤
Right… like, some may look at Chris’ life and think he wasted it. But Eddie and many others with his vision can see that Chris lived a more full life than most people who die after age 80. Inspiring indeed ❤
I still have only watched this film one time. We rented it from the local video store when it came out on DVD (remember those?). I could never bring myself to watch it again, but it did have a profound effect on me. However, the soundtrack has stuck with me ever since. My dad and I drove to the music store the night we watched the film and we each bought a copy.
there is listening to the soundtrack, then there is watching Eddie perform it. A whole new level. Christopher McCandless will always be my hero. Go...follow your dreams!
Watched Into the Wild on a plane ride, knew nothing about it at the time. Loved every second of it and the entire soundtrack is incredible. Couldn't hold back the tears in the plane, such a great movie.
I am touched by that story. Try the Book if you have only seen the Movie. They tell the same stories, only with a closer look into one or the other. deails you should understand, If you have, or still go into the wild... and it takes years to see why you needed to do it in the first place, "every time".... then you understood Alexander Supertramp, going.... " INTO THE WILD " now go !
i could only watch into the wild once so far ,it hit me so hard as a human trying to be in the word of freedom and nature and be in it and with it it resonated so hard
His vocal.... Just how??? Blows my mind every damn time. Again and again. Just like his Irish friend Glen Hansard. Absolutely wild... Pure godsend talents! ❤
Eddie also wrote all these songs. Jon Krakauer called him one day when they were getting ready to make the movie and asked Eddie if he'd write a song for the movie. Eddie said yes and wrote a few more. After Jon heard the songs he asked Eddie if he would write all of the music for Into The Wild...
Hello Tracy, how're you doing, Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
I won't dare to say he has THE BEST VOICE IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC, but he's, at least, the top 10 of all time. But i agree with the "love you Eddie"part
Yeah surely there are many good voices but for me there's a different connection with his voice. And his love, respect towards music and humanity just makes him the best ever. Cheers :)
Who could not love this man poetry skills, The lyrics he writes are outside the box, they make you think.Eddies vocal skills are amazing. Such a Talented man.
So many people missed the significance of this. Eddie tried to transition all that was grunge to what was next. A solem but physical shift toward lyrics, rhythm and melody - to being something true of heart, feelings and spirit. Can 90's music ever become this?
I agree and understood the same meaning of this evolution. I read sometimes persons complaining about this evolution. Eddie is no more the young boy wounded and rebellious he was but keep on being so brotherly with all our lives, happy, unhappy, sad, joyfull...
How I missed this and only just discovered it is beyond me. Undoubtably a masterpiece of a soundtrack,a awe inspiring story, directed incredibly by Sean Penn..... To have eddie vedder do all the songs for this film for me a masterpiece.❤
Hello Delores, how're you doing, Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
I was as consumed with Alexander Supper Tramp, as Eddy Veder, But he wrote the sound track. It is amazing Eddy. I have gone out alone and so I understood Chris Mc Candless. WE see the need to be free over a life time. Then return to join life on a different plane , but not this one. I have been on the face of frozen cliffs, in snow and wind. I have been into the wild Eddy. What a perfect feeling when I hear your words so true, painting pictures of it all in my mind. I was in the Tennessee Natchez Trace area, dealing with death . It is inevitable, Gods Law-101, P E A C E
Saw this when he came to Santa Barbara. Incredible. To write an entire soundtrack with so much heart and soul not to mention catchy as F is extremely difficult. Eddie Vedder was born to be a musician.
The fact that it took so many talented people to begin to explain to us just who inspired the movie and the book " Into the wild " speaks to the strength and wonder great loss of this young man
Hello Jim, how're you doing, Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
Crazy how music can take you on a journey, to the happiest places or to the most darkest places in your soul....Thank you "Pearl Jam" and Mr. McCandless (AKA "Alexander SuperTramp")! ....Life is short take it all in before it's to late!
I love all of those songs. Eddie is such a great writer. He wrote those songs in three days after Sean Penn ask him to.Society and Guaranteed are great! These songs are good for the soul.
After reading the book and seeing the motion picture..I looked up the soundtrack which led to me to Eddie Vedder and all of his work. Remarkable how healing and powerful the soundtrack is. I'm hopefully going to learn to play 'No Ceiling' even though the Banjo guitar brings it to an whole other level.
God, I love Eddie Vedder. Even bands who are known for putting live music on their albums still sound different. But Eddie is just pure talent and always sounded the same as he did on his recorded albums.
Essas músicas preenchem minha alma com sentimentos que não sou capaz de guardar dentro de mim, então as lágrimas caem e e um sorriso as acompanham em meu semblante.

THE ONE & ONLY EDDIE VEDDER❤❤❤
This has become the soundtrack to my life!
Today is 2023 and i'm still listening.
It's March of 2024 and I listen to this entire soundtrack at least a few times daily
Even in a place with 5000 people, this tour felt up-close and personal. Brilliant.
Eddie Vedder has so much soul. Sometimes I wonder that he's an old soul who finds beauty in lifetimes that others might judge, or deem sad, even wasted. ...He just strikes me as being somehow able to revel in it all through his music. And everyone else gets to feel it as well.
WELL SAID

He lived so many events in his life that I recognise in mine. And when I hear his voice and his words, I feel I found a brother.
Right… like, some may look at Chris’ life and think he wasted it. But Eddie and many others with his vision can see that Chris lived a more full life than most people who die after age 80. Inspiring indeed ❤
He is a special being, sadly we can't all be like that.
I still have only watched this film one time. We rented it from the local video store when it came out on DVD (remember those?). Watch it again. And often ❤
It doesn't get much better than this...him and Chris...ugh I feel blessed to have grown up in the 90s. RIP Chris such a loss to us all
Hello Ellen Philomena, how are you doing today? It's my pleasure meeting you here. Is this song one of your favorite songs?

Watched Into the Wild on a plane ride, knew nothing about it at the time. Loved every second of it and the entire soundtrack is incredible. Couldn't hold back the tears in the plane, such a great movie.
Read the book. The movie isn't anything compared to it!
I was crying at the end.
and a true story
I am touched by that story. Try the Book if you have only seen the Movie. I will love that movie and its beautiful soundtrack till the day I die, I just know it in my bones, it will never ever leave me. RIP Chris.
This whole album is so powerful...brings out so many emotions. One of the BEST artists in the history of music. Period.
💯
Arguably Sean Penn's best work, but asking Eddie to write the soundtrack elevated this movie to heights unforseen by Penn.
don't forget Krakauer
what are you talking about?
I watched the movie because of Eddie’s soundtrack. ❤
😢❤
Cia asking an industry plant to do something is amazing, yeah, ok.
His vocal.... Just how??? Blows my mind every damn time. Again and again. Just like his Irish friend Glen Hansard. Absolutely wild... Pure godsend talents! ❤
The music he made for the movie...the whole album...lifts my spirit to a place that i never want to leave.
How appropriate to have Eddie sing these songs ...The movie....Into the Wild touch my heart deeply . I am sure Chris will never be forgotten by many.
Watch Tracks, The Way those movies are very good too
Supertramp
He wrote them.
He was asked to write all for the movie

That voice cuts my soul in two. One size of my soul says: follow your heart, the other part says: dont. Beautiful, thank you Eddie.
Vah Eddie Vah.. I have no word to explain the beauty of your creation :) Respect from the depth of my soul...

Toda vez q vejo um vídeo do Eddie Vedder ao vivo eu fico doidão. O cara é foda mesmo bicho👏👏👏👏✨
He didn’t have to go that hard for this soundtrack but Eddie did it for us.
And for Chris McCandless's kindred, truth-seeking spirit. Wonderful stuff.
You're really a perfect singer. You are immortal for us . We LOVE you ( from Turkey)
in love with Eddie Vedder. His voice is too good
Every track from this album is a masterpiece. Its hard to choose one favourite. God bless you Eddie !
I remember going to a Per Jame Concert when i was 23 back in 1992, Eddie still sounds just as amazing 27 years later, and yes i'm old, bite me !
