Safe and vault / locksmith here. Ok at 22.35 he say other brands have hard plate 40% of the door and Fort Knox has 100% this is 100 percent untrue. Most other brands have hard plate over the lock. It’s 6x8 inches plate that is over the lock location. Fort Knox is not a TL-30 rated safe and even a TL-30 does not have hard plate over 100% of the door. Fort knox is a great safe but it’s not the same as a Chubb TL-30 that is $25,000 and still doesn’t had hard plate over the entire door.
I’m so sorry but I drill hard plate on safes all the time, hard plate on the entire door is and insane thing to say.
None of the Fort Knox safes they showed had corner bolts in the doors, that is usually a huge selling point, also makes it bit more expensive.
Ada locksmith I’ve not seen another safe on the level of Fort Knox. They are way more expensive for a reason. Best built safe by far that I have worked on.
If I were to walk into a safe retailers establishment that preached more about the looks of their safes than their security features, I would turn around and walk out
I purchased a Fort Knox Protector 500 back in 1995 at a gun show in Las Vegas. I think i paid about $1,200.00. It is fire lined and has the presentation door with the fancy design and manual dial. It's the best and only safe purchase I ever made. I have out grown it though as the 11 gun easy in/out is too small. I was going to look to purchase a larger Fort Knox but about fell over when I saw the current prices. These safes are made solid and will last a lifetime. I'm sure I will be passing it down to my son when i'm gone. Worth every penny spent.

It’s a legitimate question. Was it just one company or is that industry standard?
I contacted Fort Knox. Fort Knox informed me that they'll only give a combo if they have it, if they're served with a subpoena directly to Fort Knox. They do have locks that you can program and Fort Knox would not have access to which is what they currently advise.
Also you can get with your dealer and order a new lock through your dealer before you actually buy the safe. That way just you can program and know the safe code.
Ya but then the 7k or higher price safe cost even more. Plus I really wanted the double locks so now I have two new locks to buy. The safe I build was already 10k @@MrHydesMonster
