I watched your other video that discussed the misconception of door thickness, locks, digital + rotary and bolting down. I was impressed and very glad I was able to spend a lot of 1992 dollars on a class 3 fire rated safe, 90 minutes at 1650 degrees F before paper would reach a flash point. The instructions also said to avoid using plastic sheet protectors on you valuable documents unless folded inside 3 layer of foil. I found that interesting as I don't remember reading that. But as a retired auto tech I have to measure the skin thickness of the door and without paint, it is 3/8" an very impressive and used 8 bolts. Sold as a 64 gun safe, even today my wife looks back on the purchase I insisted to buy, and agrees it was a good idea. After 40+ years of marriage, it maybe the only thing she said I did right! The gasket also foams up as heat penetrates the safe and I am not sure how many will know to ask about that. Today, in 2022 dollars, I bet this safe would be at the $3,500 range. They had digital back when I purchased this one, but felt uncomfortable even then with a quality name brand digital lock only without a second method to quickly get in. I was impressed to see the industry has addressed that. I may have $10k in one SnapOn tool box that comes empty, four casters and matching keys yet any time a shop is broken into, a simple crowbar or large flat blade screw driver will open them. 98% of shops do not carry insurance on your tools and box, you are SOL on 100K in tools + 10K, 5K, 2k and $800 in my case for the boxes I own starting in 1972 when an air drill from SnapOn said Chicago Pneumatic on it and cost $40. Now it's $380 and still 3/8" drive. Thanks for the walk thru with your security expert. Excellent!

CE safes is a great source for all your safes needs . I purchased a large fort knox safe about 10 years ago from CE . Great customer guidance IMO .

What kind of steel does fort knox use in their regular guns safes before you get into the crazy custom stuff is it a36 or c1018 or something else?

Im in the market for a safe. Not worried so much about fire as safety. Regarding the electronic entry, I have 1 question. The key pad is cheaper than the key pad on my garage door. So....Where is the data stored? I'm asking because I have removed the key pad from the door. Knowing what I know, wired in my own separate key pad. The result was an open safe.
On that note, with my own key pad, what's stopping me from tampering and a very quick rewire to enter safe?

😂 stop shopping china made. However this is very legit concern. Interesting enough, i suppose you could wire a pc keyboard too it and use it as a number pad. But the lock. actual locking mechanism inside. Holds the key code. Now im wondering if i can get voice keypad and open it with sound

Might wanna try to fix the description. If your trying to sell your products. Or what exactly makes a certain brand safe, more safe.
But damn right, that safe at 5:15 is damn sexy.

never use electronic locks, the lock itself can fail, they are cheaply made. Use an S&G 8500 series or similar.

    Sir -
We have an even BETTER video on our web site called, "The Truth About Gun Safes". As for the Legend safe you see, the stainless steel tooled door was a feature offered by Fort Knox that has been discontinued. It was VERY expensive. Thank you for noticing!

Fort Knox makes a very low quality safe all the way up to the Mac Daddy as does just about every safe company out there. It always comes down to how much money you want to spend vs how good the fire rating is at a certain temperature and the time it will take a thief to break into it which ultimately falls on how much you value your items going into that safe . If your looking for a pretty looking safe that isn't as good quality as safes that are not as pretty and better quality then , Fort Knox might be for you . But if how safe is your safe is your priority then do yourself a favor and check out HARMON SAFE COMPANY safes before you end up spending your hard earned cash for a safe that is pretty or for a safe that has a 2 hour fire rating at 1850 degrees and has proven to be a nightmare for professional thieves to get in to .

Nothing is more distracting or provoking than a person who throws out nasty comments. Comments cannot be productive in this manner. This video stands alone and can benefit some, and not others. Thank you for your comment.
