Here again in 2019=The first time i heard this songs was in 2011 when i saw it on CHUCK tv series. Since then it become one of my favorite track..now i heard it again on the new tv show ATYPICAL, it was so matching with the scene again..nice songs, nice voice

Neko's voice goes straight to the heart. So beautiful!!!
Neko Case didn’t sing this one. Challengers was the first track to feature Kathryn Calder as lead vocals, as Neko was frequently unavailable due to her solo career/gigs.
Not a big deal, but thought you might be interested. The vocals ARE stunning and go right to heart.
@@cjswag That's Neko in the video and that's her voice singing lead. I've been listening to Neko for almost 20 years and seen her play live. Nobody else has that voice.

@@cjswag In the video Neko is singing lead, and Kathyrn is standing next to her singing harmony. That is Neko's voice. She isn't lip syncing. There are videos on RUclips of Neko singing the song live without Calder on stage. I saw Neko perform and she sang this song at the show.

Im don’t speak english very well but what I understand in this music it’s two people who love each other and they are together sometimes but both are married. When i was in a toxic relationship, it was destroying me. Then i met someone new. I did not cheat, i took courage to break up. And she waited for me to do that. The part “whatever the mess you’re, you are mine”. I fell like during months, she used to think like this. She is the love of my life.
What a great song! The joyous feeling of feeling the joy from finding another gem.
This reminds me of a girl I grew up next to and would visit every day. This song is special.

I first heard this at the end of a "Numbers" episode (Checkmate, season 4), and the vocals, the sound, the guitar, immediately spoke to me. Reminded me a little bit of some Cowboy Junkies stuff I used to play over and over. I can't wait to explore more of The New Pornographers' music!
+Kasey Cox I am decently new to them, but they have some awesome stuff. Considering this was posted six months ago, you have probably already seen more about them, but if you haven't my favorite song is dancehall domine, it is in brill bruisers album.

This is a great song. I'm really digging it. For some reason I was reminded of the Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang. This isn't derivative, I think that it's just the lead vocals have that same sultry edge.

This is a really nice video to help visualize the lyrics. I'm not great at understanding lyrics as they're sung, and reading them makes them seen more sad, but the pictures make them seem much warmer and more hopeful. It's a nice song either way, but it does mean there's some light at the end of the tunnel or potentially something to look forward to or hope for.
It’s a beautiful, hopeful song about former lovers finding the space for, and the possibility of, reconnection.

After one of my favorite trains was retired from active service right around the time of my breakup with my ex-girlfriend , I wasn't sure what was going to happen to the train and to my relationship with my ex. I've been with my current girlfriend for a while now. I learned that my ex-girlfriend died, right around the same time I heard the announcement that the train will be returned to service. Thankfully, the train has been sold to a company who is going to rebuild it and restore it to operational condition! The train's name is the Challenger. That's why I listen to the song. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling about the Challenger train, since it's a legendary train, yet knowing that my ex died during this historic occasion. I guess it's a message for me, that just like the Challenger train, it's time to move on to a new, better, brighter future. I think my ex is sending me a little glimmer of peace from heaven above that things will be okay for me and for the Challenger train. I believe it's just what I needed.
