One of the best interviews of Gary. Can tell Jeff did quite a lot of homework in preparation.
I knew you’d get to KC at some point but adding Gary to the mix made it even better. You guys definitely did it right for our city! Much appreciated, Jeff.
Thanks so much!
As a lifelong KCMO resident and native, I love that you did this Sitdown on the KC mob and featured Gary Jenkins. Also, I recommended you contact Gary Jenkins on a livestream a couple months back and you said you might but you didn't sound particularly enthused. That said, I'm truly grateful that you did! This is great, Jeff!
Gary Jenkins, the OG of this game!
Amen
KC - love it! Great to get to some of the smaller families and away from the Gotti era stuff. I know you say it doesn’t get the views, but these are my favourite type of shows. 👍
THANKS for watching
This is what I love to see, stuff on the midwest! Thanks for doing this episode!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
As a lifelong KCMO RESIDENT I am glad to find video of Mr. Civela. I had the opportunity to meet him and spend time with him in 1982-1983. I worked at Trinity Lutheran Hospital from age 15-19. I met him around 15 years old and I would walk the hospital halls going from room to room to drop off and pick up menus for the patients. I was told under no circumstances do I go into room ??? Because that was a very important patient. I noticed that his door had so many stains on it that it started resembling art. It was ketchup, mustard, food stains and no telling what else. I later found out that he’d throw whatever he could get his hands on at the nurses, doctors and staff when they’d upset him. He was talked about in the cafeteria and they also reminded me to NEVER GI TO HIS ROOM. One day I’m passing his room and his door was open so I walked by so fast I was somewhat jogging. I heard him say HEY YOU COME BACK HERE. Oh did I play deaf & dumb. He hit the nurse call button and told her to come get me and bring me back to his room. I explained that I was to NEVER enter his room per my employer. They said well we’ll talk to them but right now you must see what he wants. The nurse walked me in and he told her to get out. I stood at the door terrified. He said come over here I don’t bite and I won’t hurt you. King story short. We became very cordial and he requested me to sit with him every day. I was young and didn’t know anything about sickness or death. I never knew he was mafia until I went home and told my mom about the mean man that was really nice to me. I didn’t even understand mafia too much back then. However my mom tells everyone how I was a friend to Mr. Nick and Mr. Carl Civela so now at age 56, I finally decided to research them and what made them so well known. This is my first video I am watching about them. Thanks 🙏🏾
Hello, how are you?
Mr Civella was sent from the Prison Hospital in Springfield Missouri in February of 1983, he died 2 weeks later, Mr Civella was not the kind of man to throw food at his Doctors and Nurses, think about the story you told, Mr Civella had stage 4 cancer and had been in the hospital in Springfield Missouri, he was sent to Kansas City and died 2 weeks later, Sir your story does not ring true
Seriously? At 56?
Well get ready for a big jolt!
If you're into corrupt politics the democrat party is DEFINITELY the way to go.
You guys are GREAT! I love the total recall you both have for name's, dates, and stories!
thanks for watching
Nice to hear a little bit about Gary for a change.
He was the real deal. A good cop!
Worked as a CO at Leavenworth Penitentiary, from 85-87. Carl DeLuna was a inmate there. He was doing 20 yrs for the “Vegas skim”, and other crimes. Another CO told me that at times he had observed DeLuna with inmate “gofers” walking in front and behind him, escorting him around the cell block. The guy had “pull” among the inmates.
I think Tuffy was in prison the same time as Junior Bradley, Junior had lots of pull in prison, he was a great jailhouse lawyer and was from Kansas City, everyone should check out Junior Bradley
Gangland wire was one of the first crime shows I listened to many years ago..has a great archive of interviews and shows.
Crazy how there's thousands of gangsters that we've never heard of their stories.
Love the shows on the smaller families! Great guest today!
The best!
Interesting and informative. Special thanks to former detective Gary Jenkins.for sharing experiences involving organized crime members. Excellent photography job enabling the guest speaker Gary. Better describing what/whom that the viewers can better understand. Gary has a very good memory for names and historical information. Special thanks to mobster Nick Civella and associates. For making this interview possible.
This is my hometown Jeff. Glad you did a video on good old KC
Me too I live right next to the market
Glad you enjoyed it
Great interview Jeff you've been really putting out some great videos here lately 👍
This is got to be the best shows I have ever seen on THE SIT DOWN ... Rate this at 6.6 litre for definite.. Just like your guest said " with a booster" ... Love this guest a great story teller... I love the early day stories from early 50s and 60s but most importantly the 1930s and 1940s
Wow, thank you!
Great guest Gary Jenkins stories are the best
Amen
This is awesome. My great grandfather was Joseph Deluca and great uncle Frank Deluca. I love learning about my ancestry
Love this great to see Gary Jenkins brought in. His gangland wire episode over the camorra Led me to this channel
I heard you committing on your live feed about how nobody wants to tune in to anything but Philadelphia and New York stories. We’ve heard so much about New York and Philadelphia and I find it interesting to hear the stories about other places a lot of these other cities rival, New York or surpass them, in their violence.
My celly in the feds was Anthony Civella Jr, funniest dude ever !!
Pretty interesting. Thanks for watching
@@carolbrady658 we were at a camp I was on a violation not much respect needed at a camp lol I I’m not sure his dad was Anthony “tony ripe”

That conversation they had which was being bugged where they were talkin about how to pull the hit and were dismayed at not being able to run up the hill/across the field. Hilarious as, Gary, said.😂
thanks for watching
Man I love the content! Keep it coming. Love to hear about KC being from here
Thanks! Will do!
That mugshot you have as click bait, looks like he's straight outta a Looney Tunes cartoon.
Many mob guys used to distort their faces in mug shots.
Great video Jeff. Great interview! Gary is awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it
2 of the very best, Gary has seen a lot great chemistry guys

Thanks for watching Mark
Never thought I’d be interested in this show about KC BUT THIS WAS REALLY AWESOME PROHIBITION WAS THE SINGLE GREATEST THING TO EVER HAVE 2 Lcn in this country which propelled these guys to get into big business legit money wise. And the political control they had back than even until the early 90s was amazing they were truthfully untouchable it’s genius. Like this guy Gary 2 pretty boy flyod was my guy loll LOVE FROM TRENTON NJ MD
Another great episode!!! Great job Jeff. Hoping you could do a show soon about the Patriarca Family.
We will!
Always a great show Jeff as I have said many times before it's good to hear about other families but please forgive me but new York is new York it's like a soap opera following these guys
Pendergast got Truman elected
He spot on 💯
I dig it
Thanks for watching
Pissed backwards on him. First time said on RUclips
Sit down 4 Life Mybookie pays 4 real!
This should be awesome
Amen
Carl DeLuna (KC underboss) was born in Brooklyn NY
That's interesting. Always good to hear new info. How'd you know that obscure bit of info ?
@@AndrewRobertson-kl4vi it’s all over the internet you can google his wiki or read the book based on the Kansas City mob
Did you do a story about Charlie Stango from the DeCavalcante ?
Another great guest! Another great show!
The Maggadino Family next if possible por favor 👍🏾
Buffalo, would be good tohear,Jeffs, view on that.Scott Burnstien done one on OG podcast recently on the Buffalo OCG.
Ive always thought of Kansas City as its own entity n not like a satellite of Chicago. I hope Tuffy wasnt like he was portrayed in Casino as Artie Piscano. Was he really keeping records ? Thats insane for any criminal let alone a Cosa Nostra Underboss!
Good to hear about other families other than New York once in awhile another great episode
Back until like the 1900s until the 196os USA was like Mexico is now “ ohh ok your gonna lick our boss up in that city well we’re gonna mob up and come get our guy loll
Lick there Boss up 😂😂😂 Did they win him over. 😂😂😂 Did he come over to they guys 😂😂😂😂
N don't say u meant as in ' Lick a Shot. ' You meant to write lock n I'm jus having a laugh. No offence intended.
Reall good stuff! About a thousand coal miners came to Krebs Oklahoma at the turn of the 20th century. Some of their descendants made it up to KC. Joe Mantegna’s family was originally from Krebs before moving to Chicago.
Great Italian food in Krebs. Hidden gem
Gary is too shelf.👍
My grandfather worked there
It was never said in this but Prendergast built his fortune in concrete. He moved the down town kc area out of the bottoms up onto the hill. The bottoms used to be the old stock yard. As far as the eye could see. They would have massive floods and it would look like an ocean of floating dead cows. As KC grew they moved the stockyards out of downtown. But we still have the American Royal to celebrate that time when Missouri was the gateway to the west and the main stockyards for miles around. Kc of course was built off the trade on the Missouri river. The reason Jazz was really cultivated here was because the bars never closed and there were no arrests for alcohol during prohibition. This was an open city, any mobster could come here and do whatever. The alcohol flowed and jazz joints were thick in downtown KC. The Midwest has a long history of outlaws. I am related the the younger brothers. they rode with Jesse James and had a Great G'mas that used to let Jesse water his horses on her property.
Like the different twist here. But regardless of location ,human nature is the same .
What's up Jeff
Yo yo
Killa City mob was always a force to be reckoned with
You lost me at my bookie!!!!
Love hearing from the ex cops. More trust worthy sources most of the time.
🤔
@@jmarley3839 I didn't mean this guy isn't truthful. I just ment in general the cops usually don't make shit up, they don't need to but you get the odd one that embellishes the odd story.
I live grew up In kc, Southside, there was a small Liquor store in my neighborhood I swear is or was run by kc mob guys. haha they didn't fit in the hood but it made since. haha once got offerd to sell a bunch leather jackets out of a trunk from one of these guys, I politely declined. But whenever I was there they were l very nice and knew me by name. It was cool.
Can someone remind me of the name of the KC Underboss portrayed in Casino. The one Nicky/ Tony calls a f..king ballon head for keeping written records. Called Artie Piscano in Casino ?
Carl “Tuffy” DeLuna
My dad worked for him,and had his personal number that's about all I can say!🕵😊
Much success Mr Nadu. You will grow without sharing your money with a big corporation. Do da damn thang!!!
👍
If your viewing and not subscribed or at the very least hitting that like button then shame on you
Jeff deserves every bit of support!
thanks for watching
KC answered to Chicago but they were some badasses like Milwaukee and the Balistreiris. But they all answered to the Outfit! Great show Jeff.
KC didn't answer to Chicago.... It was New York
@@troytaylor4996 wrong mensa dude!
I went to school with the kids of many of the KC mob, and they are mostly legitimate now days. Gambling and strip clubs have always been controlled by the Italian’s around here.
Artie Piscano : Nance gives me trouble and I'll tell him... screw around with those suitcases and I'll take the eyes out of his frickin' head.
Piscano's Mother : Again!
Artie Piscano : I didn't curse. I said 'frickin' head'.
Piscano's Mother : That's enough.
'That fncking balloon head'
There is a book about St Louis Mob haven't to work for the printing company that did it!?!?!😊😊😊😊😊
Close to St Louis mob???😊😊😊
At times they were. Not much after Giordano rose up, I believe. In fact, there was a conflict between the two cities/families at one point.
Too much ducking ad,s
Pick more colored guests man 😂😂
I am from Palestine 🇵🇸 we love your channel.
Thanks for watching and please be safe
