It’s actually sold as 5 ply milk cotton in my country (might be miscommunication) Basically, the ply number tells you the amount of strands twisted together (e.g. 5 ply milk cotton - 5 strands of milk cotton twisted together). The milk cotton ply that you purchased usually comes in 40-50 grams skeins, so they’re pretty small. But the 8 ply, which is thicker and even more spongy, comes in 100 grams skeins, which is probably similar to the size of skein you expected. Hope this helps!
Supposedly the yarn is 80% cotton and 20% milk protein (whatever that is)! We always have that brand in stock where I live I just never had the chance to try, it looks lovely though, thank you for sharing your experience with it!
@@mrbobvinn Milk protein is a hybrid fiber. It takes the natural proteins in milk (yes, like milk that you drink) and chemically processes them to make a fiber. Rayon (made from wood pulp) is another hybrid fiber. Because it's made of protein, milk fiber shares a lot of traits with wool and silk.
Hi,I have bought milk cotton from (Wish) it's a Chinese site cheap but you have to check shipping , I thought I was so soft and gorgeous yarn to work with, I made beanie hats as I bought variegated yarn 😍 X
That yarn is very popular in Vietnam, basically when you ask for a beginner yarn people will tell you to get Milk Cotton yarn. They are cheap and have a huge variety of colors. The yarn is 80% milk and 20% cotton. Recommended hook: 2.5-3mm (I use 3.5mm hook and still ok) Knitting needle: 4mm
Hi please which hook size is advisable for 3ply of that milk cotton I want to make a mesh top with it and I don’t know which hook is okay I tried 4.0 it’s didn’t give me what I wanted
They should start carrying milk cotton yarn at regular craft stores. It looks so nice to work with 😭

It’s acrylic but in china they call cotton milk.
Simone from china translate for me .
Also if you put on fire it melts. Cotton never melts
@@nildadel9795 idk i put it in the washing machine and hot dryer and it’s still soft and fine, doesn’t melt
I'm in love with the color variations you get. I just started to crochet and it's so hard to find like "gradient" palette all in the same yarn
FYI, you can use Google lense on your phone to translate the package.. It's helpful!
This was actually one of the most genuine and helpful reviews in comparison to others
Where do you get your hooks from? I want to start crocheting

@@TheNikbel I think it is cotton bc it feels more soft and breathable than acrylic
