Sorry the circumstances were not the best for you guys, but I'm glad you got to live one of the best experiences of your life in my beautiful country! Go back as soon as, and as many times as you can, you will always be more than welcome!!
Ahh thanks! You're going to have an amazing time! Most of the videos were shot on a Sony A7iii, and our film photos were shot on 35mm point & shoots - a Canon Sureshot and a Pentax IQZoom. Enjoy your trip!
Hello you guys very nice videos and pictures of my country Guatemala very welcome next time. Guatemala waiting for you guys open arms and hearts. Sincerely Edgar Leonel Rojas Bendfeldet. God bless you both. Leo.
Hey guys ! Wow this was amazing. You got to see an incredible experience. Very jealous. We enjoyed your video so much. We can’t wait to watch more of your adventures. All the best Chelsea and Mike
Just watched all 3 parts and your videos are so stunning, the shots themselves and the editing is unreal. So sad you guys had food poisoning, I don’t know how you did that hike after all that. Do you have other social media’s ? Instagram? I’d love to follow any other accounts 😊
Hey guys I'm following you amazing adventures and beautiful videos but hate to say it but we are still waiting for you to visit beautiful El Salvador!! You must come to our amazing country El Salvador and it's amazing people await for you!!
Amazing video guys! I'm from Costa Rica and planning to go to Guatemala by the end of the month. Your video was really helpfull on showing up the different places and you guys convinced me of taken my camera gear with me on the trip. Thank you!
Very cool video! Are all of the birds sounds in the background actually from those clips? I am a bird photographer interested in photographing birds with Fuego in the background so just want to make sure those aren't bird sounds that were added in post as sometimes is the case.
Yep, those bird sounds are real! They seemed to be everywhere, although we didn't notice them in the moment as we were quite distracted by the volcano haha
Thank you! Our main camera is a Sony A7iii and our drone is a DJI Air 2s. We don't necessarily use a "filter" but color grade our footage in our video editing software, Davinci Resolve 👍
This video (and your others) are epic! I am headed to Guatemala in August and was curious what photo gear you brought with you? I have a Sony A7III, but am thinking of bringing my ZV-1 instead. Any advice?
Thanks man, we really appreciate it! Our main camera is an A7iii with a 28-70 lens and shotgun mic, and our drone is a DJI Air 2s. So not exactly the smallest kit, but typically decent for travelling. The only time I really regretted all the extra weight was while hiking up, but when at the top I was thankful to be able to capture some of my favorite photos/video to date. So it kinda just depends on what your priority is! If doing the hike, another option is to pay a porter something like $25 USD to carry your bag. This is something we wish we did, but were too stubborn in the moment. Either way, a volcano looks impressive whether it's on an iphone, vlog cam, or full frame. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose!
I watched all three parts and absolutely loved your videos!!🤗💕 If you don't mind me asking, what do you guys do as a living and to be able to travel as often?
Planning a trip to Guate. Your videos are helping me a lot and is well edited. How many days do you suggest to spend in Antigua? Including the overnight volcano trekking? Thank you! Now, you gotta plan for the “Inca Trail” in Peru 😊
Awesome, thank you! We had 6 days total (including the hike, so 4 free days), which was great - but if you don't have as much time, you could see most of Antigua in 2 days since it's pretty small! I'd say 4-6 days if you plan on doing the hike 👍
Thanks! I only brought my 28-75, which I think was enough. I don't think the extra weight would've been worth it, it definitely pays to go as light as you can!
Thank you! I believe Wicho & Charlie's only offers 2 day hikes, but I know other tour operators do same day hikes. Although we definitely recommend the overnight hike so you have more time to see the eruptions in case it's cloudy! 👍
Your videos are so good! Did anyone in your group not make it to the top? I would love to do this hike, but don't know if I would be able to get through it and I would hate to slow anyone down.
Thank you for the compliment! Everyone in our group made it, and we were actually the last ones up. Different tour guides stayed with different groups moving at different paces, so I don't think you'd have anything to worry about!
Hi I am thinking about taking the tour as well in November but I am sure I will have to pay for a guide to stay back with me so I can make it. On the website it has a fee if you get more than 45 minutes behind the group so you have a special guide to walk with you. I plan to just pay upfront.
This video is movie-quality!! Mind if I ask which zoom your lens is. Trying to downside my backpack a bit and debating between 24-70 or 70-200 (if I only care about landscape but not portraits). Thank you
Thanks so much, that's such a compliment! This whole video was shot on a 28-75mm, and I don't feel the need for a telephoto in most scenarios. I do have a 70-350mm that I sometimes use for wildlife, but often don't travel with it due to its size.
I think you would be fine! We are inexperienced so we wanted a guide, but the trail is easy to follow and there are so many hikers going up and coming down all day so you are never too far away from someone.

Thanks again for such kind words! We mainly just use Instagram, we aren't super active but usually post photos from our travels. They are @kevinhicksphoto and @alyssahicks.18 😊
Sorry the circumstances were not the best for you guys, but I'm glad you got to live one of the best experiences of your life in my beautiful country! Go back as soon as, and as many times as you can, you will always be more than welcome!!
We can't wait to return, because all the Guatemalan people we met were so friendly and welcoming just like yourself. Thank you!
I’m going to Guatemala in August with my husband and your videos just made me SO excited!!!
What film camera do you use? So many stunning shots.

Awesome. We always debate on bringing camera gear, but it definitely paid off this trip! Enjoy!

I love your photographic eye! Great and beautiful videos. Which Camera do you use? Which filter do you use?

If you don't mind me asking, what do you guys do as a living and to be able to travel as often?
Thanks so much! We both work in healthcare (nurse and ultrasound), and save all our vacation time and money for travel 😄
Planning a trip to Guate. Your videos are helping me a lot and is well edited. How many days do you suggest to spend in Antigua? Including the overnight volcano trekking? Thank you! Now, you gotta plan for the “Inca Trail” in Peru 😊

beautiful shots of the eruption! do you remember what focal length that was at? I'm debating if I should add the extra weight and bring my 70-200 haha

Enjoyed the whole Guatemala content. Planning on hiking this in August. Does the tour do a same day hike as well?
Thank you! I believe Wicho & Charlie's only offers 2 day hikes, but I know other tour operators do same day hikes. Although we definitely recommend the overnight hike so you have more time to see the eruptions in case it's cloudy! 👍

really love your vlogs ❤️ and photography
Thank you so much! 😄
Hey man I’m about to go now in February what’s the name of the company you guys used for Fuego Volcano??
Thanks
We used Wicho & Charlie's. Have fun!
This video is movie-quality!! Mind if I ask which zoom your lens is. Trying to downside my backpack a bit and debating between 24-70 or 70-200 (if I only care about landscape but not portraits). Thank you

Wow I wonder what made you guys sick? I’d love to do this hike but I’m traveling with my kids so we’ll probably do Pacaya
I wish we knew too 😔 but Pacaya would definitely be a great option, especially with kids! Enjoy your trip!
Do you think a chubby non-physically active person can do this hike? say 5ft 11inch and 210lbs?
I think most anyone can do the hike if you're determined and take your time, but it was definitely the hardest physical undertaking we've ever done!
What camera did you use to capture this?
I am going in 2 weeks!!
You're going to have an amazing time! Our main camera is a Sony A7iii and drone is a DJI Air 2s
Im an experience hiker/ backpacker - do you think you could do this solo?
I think you would be fine! We are inexperienced so we wanted a guide, but the trail is easy to follow and there are so many hikers going up and coming down all day so you are never too far away from someone.
What month did you go there
We were there early-mid March
Is it clear if I film a volcanic eruption with my phone?
Yes! The clip at 21:27 is filmed on a phone
@@kevinandlyss how about from 14:53 ? thanks
Love your videos! What’s your Instagram?
