If I recall correctly from back in 2003, in hard you only get to go "good shift" for 2 times max (some times only 1 depending on the map length), the rest of them need to be perfect shits. We did this quite easily back in the day. Also if you get all the shifts on perfect you wont have to worry about traffic because the timing will be so that the traffic almost hit you but just missed, granted you will have to figure out the best path that offers the near missing timings.
I love the old NFS, in fact I’ve just got Underground 1 & 2, Most Wanted, Carbon & Pro Street all running on my gaming laptop & I couldn’t be happier right now laying in bed & playing through them all at night
Now that is what we call Need For Speed! Compare this to unbound.. Unbound makes me sick, the driving, stupid passes, etc. Everything is so bad in the newest nfs.. only graphics are good. But look at this legend of a game, the feel, the adrenaline, the hardness... Sometimes you really had to try a lot to win a race, and that's freaking fun! Drag races, omg, motion, the speed, everything is OG. Why they can't create something like this, or NFSU2 or NFMW...

It's incredible how well this game holds up graphically. It's probably the number 1 racing game I'd recommend for a low-spec PC or laptop. Recently I got it running on my kid's old-ass laptop. It runs at 1080p, medium settings, at 60 fps... It's great.

That Rotary drag is the most annoying of all the races in this game. I'm 49 and I still replay this game. There's something so addictive and equally frustrating about it; I blame my son for introducing me to it back in 2003 😅
Old favorite. Me and my brother used to do drag races in split screen a lot, and the rx7 was unbeatable. If I remember right it could be pushed to 240mph or beyond.
older nfs are still awesome and better than new ones...now playing nfs 3, just downloaded like 70 tracks and 600 cars, it's crazy how good looks with modern patches and hd textures
Always pick the RX-7. Its the best car. Switch to manual shifting, its not that hard and your can use the full potential of the redline up to 10k rpm mainly using 4th and 5th gear.
Both drag racing and drift racing are arguably the most frustrating race modes of all time, but I prefer drag racing more than drift racing cuz I mastered it. Drifting is so much of a drag (no pun intended).
use the nitro fast at the beginning leave just a bit for unforeseen circumstances. You want to get to top speed as soon as possible, it might not be max speed but you are looking for the best average speed to win.
For Drag races: Bro what are you DOING?! Stop using your NOS with little BS bursts and just USE IT ALL AT ONCE! The reason you fall that far behind is because you ain't using all of your NOS. You need to use it all to get ahead. I personally spam the NOS after 3rd gear.. unless my first 2 shifts are terrible. Also.. you need to take advantage of draft when you can. There's several times you could've gotten behind the other cars to get that boost. It's basically free NOS you ain't using. Also.. i know a ton of people hype the Skyline like crazy.. but in drag the RX7 and even the RSX are very nice. The RSX being the easiest to shift.
Skill issue doesn't make a game bad. It's a great game, I recommend emulating it on a stronger android phone if you can't get the console and/or the physical game itself.
Is it underground 1 or 2? Drifting in these game was special. You had to do Ss in straights and if you could link it with the corners, that's when you made mad point. Now if you could do so from start to finish, 💯 gg
Underground was always better than underground 2 imo. While the customization and the open world was cool, I have always found these races more fun and challenging which made the game more fun for me.
The drag races are always painfully unfair. Traffic cars appearing out of the nowhere because yes. The car doesn't Switch lanes even when you're trying to force it. The AI goes way beyond faster than you, or they even make you crash, when sometimes it doesn't even happen. Yeah, unfair lmao.
This game actually makes me more nervous than MW, to those who never played this but played MW, you better get ready if you though MW was a close call game.

I, unfortunately or not, got used playing soft body racing games. I would have been very careful and efficient in every corner. Finally, U1 is truly one of the most unforgiving to bad players racing game out there and GrogTV finished it with a Peugot 206 from start to finish.
When I replayed this game. It’s ass. The blind traffic turns and driving uphill into a car you can’t even see until you get to the top. Pain in the ass. Everything about this game is solid af. It’s that traffic that puts this game low on my list of favorite NFS titles.
This game is way easier if you never upgrade your cars because it breaks the game’s rubberbanding AI People who’ve played through that one race towards the end of the game understand how ridiculously hard it is with all your upgrades and even more so when you see how much they’re forced to hold back because you are too. After that one race, though? Smooth sailing 👍🏽

I just completed this game in two days. All on Hard, and driving assists off (yes, there is a driving assist toggle in settings), I've no idea where you found races difficult. Drag is easy, cuz you just watch behind and don't let them pass you. Drift is the easiest s*t ever, especially if you played Forza. Oh, and did I mention that Underground 2 has 222 races, two times as much? :D Bro, you need more practice if this game is hard for you
