- This is a day in the life on an employee at ALDI during the Covid. The date on the camera is wrong I didn't know how to change it. Oops hehe. Also for all you mask people out there I recorded this when the pandemic had just started. Masks were not mandatory yet. Hope you enjoy my first video.
Every cashier should be sitting in the comfy chair the way you are!!
I just recently started working at an Aldi, and man your back house is so much cleaner than ours! Also, this job can be very intense. Keep up the awesome work!
I want to apply but i heard you are always time and have to be fast.
@@happystar2058 you are timed, its true. They count how many items per hour. But (at least in my store) you get time to learn and get faster and learn tricks
Thank you! I try to keep it super organized!!
Always multi tasking💙
I have an interview there in a couple days. What was the interview process like?
I want to get job but I don't know how to apply ? Please help me
That store looks impecable!
This is some in depth unedited and uncensored stuff. Mind-blowing.
Girl you’re so fast! Iconic
Thank you so much! 🧡💙
Love the banjo and Salsa music.
They let you use a chair? Bro, that's German quality right there.
ehm In germany they would never put your stuff in the cart XDDD You would have to do it by yourself lol. And of course they have chairs, why should they stay the whole time. We have something which is called Occupational Health and Safety Act ( Arbeitsschutzgesetz)
@@moingenaumoin3468 they y’all lucky at all the jobs I worked at you have to stand up
As a grocery store manager (who spends a lot of time on register), I could never imagine sitting in a chair. It's a surprisingly physical job... sitting down would be difficult.
It's not as easy as you would think..
@@moingenaumoin3468 Yeah, totally true. We take care of our employees in these aspects at least. But the cashier needs to put all the stuff in the cart is that ineffective. Why not copying our German concept with pushing items to the customer and they grab it themselves?
You're not supposed to grab the items. You're supposed to just slide them with a flat palm. It's faster that way. - Former Aldi employee here. 😊

@@raechoi8079 yes :)
@@valeriadelgado3696 is it a macadamia nut I really like those
Hi! Aldi manager here. You need a new boxer or your store manager can put in a work order to have that one fixed. You shouldn't need it to be on a jack. Tell your manger don't be ghetto 🤗
Is it true that you have to count change manually, in your head? The register doesnt show you the change to be given to the customer? Because I heard that you to count change manually, here in Aldi Australia.
I want to apply but fear that I won't be good at the register math is not my strongest. Also I have back problems and heavy ladies days lol I like organizing and make everything look nice.
I’m in the same position as you I’m 50/50 on whether this job is suitable for me😂
The register does all the math for you. With your back problems, Aldi might not be a good fit for you because you have to be able to lift at least 40 pounds and there's a lot of physical labor involved..
@@PrettyIntrovert_9 At Aldi you don't just cashier. Everyone does everything, so there's a lot of physical labor involved.
Is it true that you have to calculate the change in your head instead of the register calculating the change for you?
Would you be able to make a video covering the boxing/carding more?? I still struggle with the boxing after nearly 4 months, I'm way too ocd and slow and I feel like my team hates working with me but I can't find the right balance with speed and making things look perfect, if you have any tips it would be really helpful!! I'm fine with the more solid items like cans, bottles etc but the items that are falling all around the cases or if cases are damaged and not holding the items I usually spend ages trying to fix them
what i recommend (even though i just started working at aldi a few days ago) is really just try and make it look full as possible but also neat. so if there’s room in a box with certain items take the items from the box above and fill it, that way the chances of it falling is less!
Yes I will make a video about this soon! I am the same way, my method is I try to over box a lot, so I barely have touch up before closing. Hope everything is going well with Aldi for you! ✨💙
@@pinasworldd hey it's so funny reading back on this, I'm actually deputy store manager now. I was promoted after 12 months who would have thought lol. Guess maybe sometimes were too hard on ourselves! But I can still be Abit ocd sometimes.
@@sonicluver98 If you don't mind me asking, what was your role to begin with before your promotion? Congrats btw!!
just had my interview last week & start next week in May for part time. I'm a bit nervous about the register just because it is different from the typical register i am used to working with. but other than that I am excited i feel like this will not only teach me a different side of retail (I've only worked in a clothing store environment before) as well as challenge me a bit.
I start in May too😩 best of luck
@@gawjussgirlify thank you. Same to you. Been jobless for 3 months way to long for me😂
@@gawjussgirlify omg finally “started” in after some delays. I did not know I would have to remember things like codes of certain foods since they don’t have a scanner on my own as a cashier 😂 my brain better not let me down.
@@ShamShammie how has it been?
@@ShamShammie does the register at least tells you how much you owe the customer when they pay in cash?
Goodluck with your back and shoulders in a couple yrs lmao...i worked there for 10 years and now my body is suffering injuries from heavy lifting. Horrible place to work at!!!!!!!!!
Wow! You do a lot God Bless
Yes thank you! It is a hard job! In my next video I will explain my manager position which is 100x harder 🥴
Great work! I work at a grocery store too and your hard work is very appreciated! Plus you’re very cute and a good worker. Best of luck to you!
Thank you so much for the kind words!💙
Not bad. I apply near me. In baytown tx. Only part time. So i could practice and practice one i get it. Ill be 100% full time. Im not a fan of aldi. But i already know what kind of store is aldi.
Hope everything is working out with you at Aldi!
Wow!!!! Amazing job
Thank you so much
And as they say at the end of the day you gotta be faster 😂
Do you really get to sit?
In Europe we are not slavers
@@Bibiana862 haha true i can't believe he ask that
Can someone please tell me what a shift looks like for a PT cashier and what the responsibilities would be (for a PT cashier) I would greatly appreciate it!
I will make a video about this soon! Thanks💙
You just cashier and if you have no customers you box the store, easy peasy
Your boxer doesn't have wheels on it to roll it around? I work for Aldi's and ours is like that we just rolling around on Wheels when we do the boxing. I wanted to record a front my boss said no because we can get fired if we do that because of people's credit card info but I told her I won't be recording the customers when they're paying out just me scanning she said no corporate won't allow it LOL don't forget to one coded it 😂
No it doesn’t.😢 I have work with what we have unfortunately. My store is a bit older, waiting on the remodel soon!
Hope everything is going well with aldi for you!!
You are a robot a slave if you work for Aldi! You are being timed for everything it’s ridiculous. No second chances you will get fired on the spot.
why's it look like you're the only one there 😂
little beauty😍more funny and better then every commercial😂😘
So sick of only one employee working
It's like a soldier going to a world war 3. Super busy job😕
You do some of everything.
what is the music 😂 am I watching someone work at aldi, or a farmer milking cows
I'm planning on working there but I'm really bad at math. Like does it count up the money for u ? Or like I have to figure out how many change I have to give them back...???!?!?! Help I'm scared!?!?!
Hello, it counts the money... I can make a new video explaining the produce/item codes you need to memorize to work there. There is a long list of codes to remember. Lots of work! Good luck
@@pinasworldd yes please make a video of the codes
Yes please do that

I enjoyed this!
Thank you so much! I Will be uploading more every week! 💙
nice video
I will be starting soon but in woried I'll do something wrong lol. what should i expect? and what usually happens with a new employee?
Thanks
The training process is pretty smooth they’ll let you know everything you need to know most new employees I’ve seen just box and clean or shadow cashiers to experience the level of speed they’re looking for. Aldis generally have a smaller staff so speed and efficiency is really what they like to strive for but don’t get worked up if your not fast super quick. It’s all a learning process and you’ll get better with time. I’m one of the fastest cashiers in my store and a good tip is to learn your scanning codes as quickly as possible, it’ll help the process of cashing out go much quicker. Hopefully this helped a bit
Today is my first day. Eager to start and get in routine.
How’s that going so far bro
How’s it going? My first day is tomorrow and I am nervous
@@swaminator3617 how was it? Are you liking it now?
Hope everything worked out for you!💙
Good work gat
Do u have to count your register before and after your shift ?
I thought the company was heading to zero waste? All that plastic
Aldi is the easiest job that never ends you literally don’t stop moving the entire shift it’s a workout in the mornings and a nonstop parade of rude old people who think you’re supposed to sit in the register chair and wait for them to check out. God forbid they wait 30 seconds for you to finish the endless work there is to do with 3 man crews. The speed they expect as a cashier is nascar fast which tends to upset most customers.
I thought about applying for Aldi as a assistant store manager still thinking.
That’s why I don’t want to work at aldis it may have good pay but since it’s a smaller store than Walmart, you’re responsible for multiple jobs at once and I *only* wanna be responsible for cashiering and cash handling during closing shifts. I don’t want to stock because I’m lazy lol I did reverse shopping at Walmart and if I couldn’t find where an item went or didn’t feel like walking to Were it was I would just throw it in a random spot on the shelf 💀
Yeah dont, you will get fired the first day
If that’s the case then I recommend working at Harris Teeter bc you’re able to choose just the cashier position! :)
Yup if I do decide to work at Aldi I'm going to find one where there is more than 3 people who work there. If it's only two employees there then you're gonna have alot more work to do
Why don't you bag the items?
That's the customers job at Aldi~ It's one of the reasons why you can buy a can of pork and beans there for 38 cents a can~
cuse customers have hands
we dont bag items in any market in europe dosnt matter if it is tesco, aldi, lidl, simply nowhere
Alot alot less plastic waste if u want a bag u Can buy big bags ussaly laying underneath the conveyor
Bagging is expensive and unnecessary and totally uncommon in Europe.
who is here after sven johnson
Just seems like so much work for one person and at only 16.50 an hour? And it’s not even all the work you have to do. It’s being timed, which is shitty! I now fully understand why Aldi’s is ALWAYS hiring!
Sign where I shop SoCAL, hiring, starting pay $18. Was $17.35 sign about 6 months ago
AlD love you Mikayla you ♥️❤️ Store buy Doing good 👍
Y’all don’t have janitors ??? 🤦🏽♀️
What are the qualifications you should fulfill to get selected as an employee in ALDI?
Want to make little money and be a slave to a corporation
@@DeathSpellXVI is it that bad?
@@DeathSpellXVI You must be talking about dollar tree. At least where I work Aldis pays 14.50 as a stocker
It’s corporate. They have extreme numbers and percentages to meet and you will get shit on for not meeting them. It’s ridiculous the speed and shit they want you to go at for that pay.

i worked at aldi and i can say it's the worst experience i've had in retail ever! they cut hours and want you to do everything.
whats the problem with doing everything?
I plan on going to Aldi my first time. I love how the register ppl have chairs so they don't have to be on their feet all day
They just aren't on their feet while ringing people up but the rest of the shift they are
Oh my god, thanks for this brilliant video. Btw you're a great cashier 😊
Thank you so much!
How do you find time to stock, organize, and clean when you supposed to be on register???
This came up on my recommendations muaha. 😂 Id've set a target for an 120 IPM rate if I were there, what's yours?
Haha it has been up to 120 items per minute. I used to hold the record for fastest cashier in my district. My nick name is always speedy Gonzales 😂
@@pinasworldd That is amazing ohh wow.. Omg, that is literally my nickname too aha. 😂 I honestly could be that fast, but I get super funny looks. 😂 But I honestly go as fast as I want, probably that speed to be honestly, since I'm always super friendly with the customers, they couldn't care less. 😂 UK by the way.
Since you two work for Aldi, check out the song I did on my page..i was playing around having fun
@@pinasworldd i just did a application for aldi for the stocking position
Sod that 😂😂😂 you mugs.
Is it worth it to work here
new to your channel. Are you still with Aldi. Is management respected at Aldi. Do you know anyone in there 50s that works at Aldi. Applied but never heard anything???
My guess is that they hire only young people because they can work harder and longer hours than someone in their 50’s. I’m almost 60; their pace would make for a long, unpleasant day.
Hello, yes I am. I had been busy working but I’m back to creating more content for the channel. Management varies with every region. Yes I do know a couple people over the age of 50 that work there.
The application process is very difficult. They tend to hire people only when they have hiring events. Usually only pick 1-2 people since the stores are very little staff working.
Wow, that’s a lot of work!

All cashier's should use a chair Walmart take notes
a lot of work for little money
not at all. a lot of cashiering jobs have you doing multiple tasks like this and on top of that, you need to be constantly standing for 5,6, sometimes up to 9hrs a day all for close to minimum wage. at least here in the u.s., aldi's pay of $14 is amazing when a lot of degree jobs only pay $9-10.
@@cymtri4119 thx for the info
Yes I know we‘re use to grin about cheap discounters as Aldi, Lidl or Norma here in Germany but the time has chgd as there will be now 100 applicants on one open job at Aldi or Lidl. They pay good money and have great social performances.
