I guess they wanted to uno reverse how these movies usually go? Usually the woman is an independent, wealthy, hard-working business woman, with plenty of friends and a somewhat expensive lifestyle. So of course they throw her into some small, conservative, remote place, away from all her comforts and friends, which she hates at first. But then she comes to realize that, in fact, she does not want to be a modern woman who likes her own job, nice clothes, decent restaurants, and having friends...but indeed would rather give EVERYTHING up she's worked for, settle for an ok dude, and become an isolated, simple housewife. The woman COMPLETELY changes for the man. We get this weird message that this is what women actually have always wanted, they just need to find the right man to play devoted housewife for. This time around, the guy changes, but not necessary just for her. He realizes that he's having to live isolated in fear of being used by others, putting up walls to prevent real friendships or romances to grow. So at the end, he opens up to people. Sure, he moved to a busier area, and it was out under the "romance" genre, but ultimately this message is that you shouldn't have to hide yourself in fear. Opening up is ok. Honestly, I prefer this message 🤷♀️
@@SlavaZone For an Uno reverse script it’s successful, I like what you have to say about it, and yeah I hate that “domesticated woman” trope. All valid points! But I couldn’t get on board with him becoming what she considered acceptable, and then it was ok to be with him. Personally, I’ve been through many relationships where the relationship became conditional on change. I’ve learned that in those instances it’s not about what needs to change, it’s about the fact that you’re with the wrong person. So in that respect, I don’t see this film as having made any progress in terms of feminine empowerment. In that light, the film advocates illusory fairytale thinking that perpetuates ill-fitting relationships 😮 Also, opening up and embracing life is good, but I wasn’t sold on the idea that that is what he actually wanted. In addition to wanting to be out of the spot light, it seemed like he felt more at peace with nature and in the Outback than in a city, juggling accountants and watching his stock value. It wasn’t clear that his heart was in the change he made… But maybe that was just the bad acting and predictable writing.
Surpising it switched it up. The cliche is the busy executive woman gives up her busy business life to stop and smell the roses with the down to earth male character. It turned the cliche around lol
I think she just looks exactly like she did when she was a teenager/playing a teenager which was probably a bit more mature looking than actual teenagers (as teen shows often did/do) but now it gives me the creeps seeing her with the guy in this who probably isn't that much older than her.
I find it so funny when the female protagonists get upset when they find out their love interest is rich, like what's the problem? :))))) i'd be like hell yeah. They should be upset if they find out he's poor, Tinder Swindler style
I’ve been with my boyfriend for 9 years and if I suddenly found out he was rich I’d be a little incensed, due to my struggles over the years, but I’d recover fast and wait patiently for my new credit card.
I've wondered that too! I recently watched "Marriage Season" on Netflix and female protagonists got upset when they she found out he was a rich DJ and not an MIT graduate
@@jennmullins1063 yes, they are upset they are not considered trust worthy from the start which is unrealistic and they should understand that motivation for lying, but in the movies it's more like "how could he not see I'm not a gold digger from the 2 minutes we talked since we met" pshhhh

Hey Jaime I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but I found you on Facebook like a week ago and I’ve been doing nothing but binge your videos ever since. This is literally a Hallmark christmas movie for the summer.... I've never seen it and I'm only at Jamie's signature amazing ad read, but I know this to be true
The Chris Stapleton skit had me gasping for air I was laughing so hard!!! 😂 You are the only person whom I don't skip the ads. I hope they're paying you well because they're amazing 👏 Love to see a new video, they are the best!!! Thank you for another one!!!

Jaime! You asked “can you get Netflix movies on dvd?” And I IMMEDIATELY thought- wasn’t Netflix a dvd platform when it first came out? Like you ordered movies sent to your home. And when you sent back one or all the next ones in your basket or whatever shipped out, and you’d get them next day. Am I crazy? Or isn’t that what Netflix was?

I was on the 2 at a time, they were sent to you in these red envelopes that when you sent them back in the same red envelope. I would get HBO or Showtime series dvds, that’s how I watched Sex in the City, True Blood, etc! Keep doing what you’re doing! I love all the content, you’re so funny!!
I literally hated this movie sooo much. There was a lot left unexplained or ignored. And she kept saying she wasn't a quitter but quit everything. Also your accent was pretty good. The internet-at-large tried to track Sander down for many years, and in 2008 she finally made a public appearance regarding the video. During an interview on a syndicated radio program called Totally Real Exposé, she talked about the epic fall. When asked about her thoughts on the incident, she had this to say: Am I embarrassed that I fell? Of course. I also broke a couple ribs, thanks for asking. I had to spend a few weeks in the hospital under observation. I suffered quite a bit for an honest mistake, a momentary lapse in concentration, and now I’m trying to move on. Ouch was right. We're sorry to hear it was such a bad fall, and we wish you good luck in the future Ms. Sander.
god I hate that clip lmao, like nothing against Jaime and I get it's an iconic clip but the woman always sounds like she's in an insane amount of pain given the absolutely awful sound she makes
If you guys do decide to hit up Grant's Farm as adults, the key is once you get off the tram, immediately put your blinders on, quickly dodge your way through the crowd straight to the end where they give you 2 free draft beers and then backtrack. That super ‘setty-set’ shearer’s quarters looks exactly like at least 3 buildings in my country town in Australia. One is a town hall, one is a cinema and another was a school house. Why any of those buildings would be used as accommodation on a sheep station leaves questions but that is a legit looking Australian building.
You calling out the movie kissing is everything I needed bc THAT SHIT BUGS ME. It will ruin any romantic moment if there is too much head movement. Especially when it’s like a sweet first kiss but their heads are moving like their bodies should be ripping each other’s clothes off. 🤣 so cringey.

For an Uno reverse script it’s successful, I like what you have to say about it, and yeah I hate that “domesticated woman” trope.
In that light, the film advocates illusory fairytale thinking that perpetuates ill-fitting relationships 😮
Also, opening up and embracing life is good, but I wasn’t sold on the idea that that is what he actually wanted. In addition to wanting to be out of the spot light, it seemed like he felt more at peace with nature and in the Outback than in a city, juggling accountants and watching his stock value. It wasn’t clear that his heart was in the change he made…
But maybe that was just the bad acting and predictable writing.
@@SlavaZone nothing wrong with being a boring little housewife. It’s very stress free. ❤️
Surpising it switched it up. The cliche is the busy executive woman gives up her busy business life to stop and smell the roses with the down to earth male character. It turned the cliche around lol
So Netflix is making hallmark movies now, also she still looks 16. And not necessarily bad, she’s aging beautifully and absolutely beautiful.
Bro, I want to know what 16 year olds you know because I never knew a 16 year old that looked like that.
She’s not even 30 years old 😂
I think she just looks exactly like she did when she was a teenager/playing a teenager which was probably a bit more mature looking than actual teenagers (as teen shows often did/do) but now it gives me the creeps seeing her with the guy in this who probably isn't that much older than her.
I think it's more the lying part that they're upset over lol
@@jennmullins1063 yes, they are upset they are not considered trust worthy from the start which is unrealistic and they should understand that motivation for lying, but in the movies it's more like "how could he not see I'm not a gold digger from the 2 minutes we talked since we met" pshhhh
THIS. Into this movie until ... I saw it coming. He's going to tell her, she's going to run away. The worst part. They could have gotten way more creative.
Hey Jaime I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but I found you on Facebook like a week ago and I’ve been doing nothing but binge your videos ever since. I skipped work yesterday and watched 9 straight hours of your content. You bring such joy and positivity to my life exactly when I needed it the most, I can’t thank you enough for what you do, seriously don’t ever stop making content, you’re so freaking funny and so unique, thank you so so much.
Omg girl thank you so much! 9 hours! How boring for you 😜
Either Lola’s dad is aging really well, or Lola is aging poorly. Or he adopted an old classmate.
Yeah...I thought he was the 'gay best friend' trope. Well that shows I wasn't paying attention.
I had to Google their ages. He is 7 years older than her according to IMDB 😂
Apparently he’s 36 lmfao and the dude max is 37!!! 😂
They are definitely far more believable as a couple or as siblings lol.
@@mymai5859I thought it s her bf😅
the fact that the dad and daughter look like the usual hollywood weird age gap Movie Couple definitely adds Flavour

This was pure gold! Between the Hello Fresh ad, Trish, and your Aussie/New Zealand/British accent, and then Tammy as the cherry on top, I was laughing out loud, yes I was lolling, and I needed it.
Don’t forget the South African that also slipped in there a few times haha
as an Aussie, I appreciate the research into 'going for a vegemite' and 'heaps and loads'. 😂

Can't wait for Christmas! Jamie should do a Bad Christmas Movies Reviews thing this year!! Those are full of cheesiness and all the good stuff lmaoo
This is literally a Hallmark christmas movie for the summer.... I've never seen it and I'm only at Jamie's signature amazing ad read, but I know this to be true
I said the exact same thing at the exact same time! Isn't this exactly what every hallmark movie is?? Like eggggzactly lol
The Chris Stapleton skit had me gasping for air I was laughing so hard!!! 😂 You are the only person whom I don't skip the ads. I hope they're paying you well because they're amazing 👏 Love to see a new video, they are the best!!! Thank you for another one!!!
I’m so glad you’re willing to watch and review all these terrible movies so I don’t have to.
Eventually your falling female protagonists compilation is going to be a show of its own.
Also, you missed an opportunity to say “leave me a comment down undah the video”.
Her movie reviews actually make me want to watch these movies even more!
As an Aussie, I find it really funny how Americans say Aussie haha!
Also, saying heaps is a thing in Australia. I say heaps, heaps 😜
Lol I am Aussie to and agree the way Americans say "Aussie" I love it !
I look forward to Jamie’s ads almost as much as I look forward to her videos 😂
Came here to find the comment about how good her ads are or I was gonna write one 🥰
Same. They are the only ones I don’t skip through.
I can’t believe she got Chris Stapleton to help out!
"Increasingly menacing Patsy Cline" is the vibe I strive for.
If I EVER have the kind of opportunity that someone says "this is who I really am, I needed to know I could trust you"....I'd be like..."well thank you for trusting me!" These people who get all mad when they don't know everything right away when they just met someone need to get some help!!
I’m just really happy that there are Australians in this movie because Jamie’s accent is a thing of beauty.
Can we talk about how Jaime manages to put advertisements in her video saying "we'll have a little break"? It's so smooth, I actually don't mind them now 😂
oh that's what that was, I have ad block on, so i just kept getting static screen 😅
@@dawnriddlerthis kind of stuff always infuriates me. Ik that's strong wording but repetative stuff like that - esp loud noises - really get to me. And I'm *paying* to not have ads. Family RUclipsPremium is already $24/month and I still have to deal with all the interruptions. 😭

I vote for a "She literally can't even" compilation.

Hallmark also has a movie called “A Perfect Pairing” so now I need to comPAIR the two. I love your reviews so much! Even your ads are amazing. 😊
This would be so funny!
I like how you're nice to the actors and give them the benefit of the doubt, instead of just assuming they must be bad because they weren't amazing in a shitty movie.
As an Aussie I’m going to put it out there that the sets were so settie-set that this wasn’t filmed in Australia. Now let’s go get some vegemite! 🤣🤣
I was looking for gumtrees, but if there was any, I didn't see them. Pretty sure it wasn't filmed here. In the credits, it usually says thanks to the broadcasting commission of whatever state it was filmed in. Jaime is going to have find out for us. Betting against it though.
It was filmed in QLD, there was a fair few o/s movies filmed in Aus during the pandemic because we didn't have the same restrictions as other countries.
@@sallybalkin8507 It was definitely filmed here, I live quite close to where it was filmed and it looks exactly like this, all around the area looks similar, it is so beautiful I actually didn't think it looked like a set

This had me cracking up.. especially when you tried to do an Aussie accent.. golden lol
Sometimes you actually nailed some words with your Aussie accent 😂
The cringe factor with this movie is high! I always look forward to your videos ❤️
Agreed. Americans can never do Australian accents. They usually end sounding bogan or some weird cockney.

Yes! It’d be mailed to you!
They still do! Lots of obscure stuff and TV shows.

Ugh Jaime this was truly one of your funniest movie reviews yet. I smiled through the entire video. Your jokes were all laugh out loud inducing. Grape lady video is the funniest thing that has ever come out of the internet so i appreciate your liberal application of it. Good choice of movie for your series. Chris Stapleton was just a lovely random giggly moment. Loved the interaction with your characters. Okay Proud of you thanks bye.
Netflix started out with being a dvd rental! The membership fees were determined on how many dvds you could have at the time. I was on the 2 at a time, they were sent to you in these red envelopes that when you sent them back in the same red envelope. I've been binge-watching your movie reviews for like two days. I am scared for the moment I run out reviews to watch. Please make more!!!
Your determination to keep trying for an Australian accent was admirable
I literally hated this movie sooo much. There was a lot left unexplained or ignored. And she kept saying she wasn't a quitter but quit everything.
Also your accent was pretty good. My husband is Australian so I hear the accent daily and people try to imitate it, horribly. You did a pretty decent job lol
I've never seen the clip of that woman falling off the stage before and I feel horrible for how much I laughed at the noises coming out of her. 😂🤣 I hope she was okay she sounded so hurt 💔🖤
You've never seen that?! I think she was actually injured and the internet just had a field day with the footage, oh I felt so bad for her.
I never found out what actually happened to her.
The internet-at-large tried to track Sander down for many years, and in 2008 she finally made a public appearance regarding the video. During an interview on a syndicated radio program called Totally Real Exposé, she talked about the epic fall. When asked about her thoughts on the incident, she had this to say:
Am I embarrassed that I fell?
Sander.
god I hate that clip lmao, like nothing against Jaime and I get it's an iconic clip but the woman always sounds like she's in an insane amount of pain given the absolutely awful sound she makes
that’s what it sounds like when you get the wind knocked out of you
If you guys do decide to hit up Grant's Farm as adults, the key is once you get off the tram, immediately put your blinders on, quickly dodge your way through the crowd straight to the end where they give you 2 free draft beers and then backtrack. In thus order, the experience becomes much more enjoyable.
I chortled at this review. Love your stuff! I wouldn’t mind seeing movie reviews from the 90’s like Ever After, movies that bring me back to nostalgia and have fun doing that.
