My husband when we got a kitten: Don’t let it into the bedroom!
My husband a few weeks later: Oh, sooo cute. She is sleeping on the bed!
Most people do that . At first keep it out of certain places then it is playing everywhere
My dad wasn't in such denil but he didn't want one of them to sleep at us (he was an indoor-outdoor cat and also stayed at the neighbours too, he was originally theirs). Then my mother conviced him to at least let him sleep when it's cold.
Cats want to be where ever there peoples' scents are strong and the bed is one of those places. It creates feelings of security.

My bf, who considered joining the Marines, avid Call of Duty fan, soccer/baseball star and outspoken dog person...melts like butter every time he's around my cat. He dotes upon her, spoils her, brushes her fur, plays with her...she warmed up to him before me. One day I asked him, "are you sure you're a dog person?" He always responds "I am, but she's got a place in my heart."

However, cats view you as an equal; room mate, friend, maybe sibling. That's why they don't depend their lives on you and don't need as much attention, and that's why people think dogs love humans more than cats do; because dogs depend on their owners more. They only scratch and bite because they are more sensitive than dogs and only when you threaten or annoy them.
Cat purrs are also beneficial for your body. They are used in sound therapies and such. "A cat's purr is generally within the range of 40 - 200 Hz. In sound therapy, these frequencies are believed to heal injuries and relieve pain. It is also told that injured cats often purr to help soothe and heal themselves"

Why do you feel the need to say bad things about dogs and compare them to cats in a negative way? Can't we all just love both of them and not try to convince other people that we should love one thing more than the other. I am a dog person but I would never try and get someone that loves cats to love dogs and follow how I feel.

i got my three kittens when they were about 5 weeks old. if you treat them with love and kindness and are nice to them they're nice back. if you handle them a lot when they're younger they won't be as touchy-feely. my cats are over a year old now and they have NEVER hissed at me or scratched me out of anger. EVER. like i said, be nice to them and they'll be nice to you.

I've raised at least 30 cats since I was small and all of them ended up touchy-feely because I constantly pet them absentmindedly on my lap when I was on the phone or watching a movie.

Bugghetti Bug Apparently... rotten luck. I've always been around cats and love their company. They hardly ever grunt and I've been bitten and scratched only once. The cat in question was completely panicked cause it got stuck so liberating him wasn't easy.
Mind you I like real dogs as well but you just need more time to properly take care of them. The only thing I'm not to comfortable with are those small lapdogs.

+The Meme Egg Named Danny The "I'm feeling Maternal Protection" is what I felt when I got a stray kitten that just moved in to care for. We called him "Lucky" because the rest of his family got eaten by dogs, and the only reason he got here safe was because one of the neighbours brought him. Now I'm here in Canada (Serbia was just a vacation to see my parents) and Lucky still lives in Serbia. He's all grown up now ;)

I know machoisms, being rugged etc... but kittens are so adorable. They are little bundles of joy and love. You are taken immediately.

megadriver6 I have witnessed most badass people going mushy in the presence of a kitten. Kittens are very important! I think I'm quite healthy solely because our family got a kitten when I was nine (nowadays our kitty is an adorable old fluffball).
