I saw somene on metacritic .Give this a 10 and give God of war Ragnarök a 3 out of 10 . Just right there this person doesn't know how to write a review .
I feel like every game nowadays just wastes my time instead of offering me a memorable experience and It's not me, I have older games that are just as fun as they were in 2012-2017 and I still enjoy them. Idk why developers don't take any feedback seriously or finish their games before launch. Everyone should punish unfinished or lack luster games, ask refunds and make every company think twice before making or releasing unfinished/shit games.
This game didn’t hit below the belt, this game castrates you without anesthesia while gaslighting you till you pass out from the pain inducing cringe writing.
The dialogue makes no sense! How can you think of yourself as a hero of a world when you have said before “I don't care if this place is saved or if it burns I just want to go home (to a place where I am hunted by gangs and I am homeless)”
For anyone defending the writing of the story/MC... It is literal garbage. The MC has literally *zero* character development until moments before the final boss. She literally does not care about anyone or anything at all. She's honestly kind of a crap person. Is that a bad thing? No. Crap people with a broken morality compass make for amazingly interesting characters. But Frey wasn't that. She kept doing what was best for her and the world (as a heroic MC would), but just complained the whole time. To top that off, what was her motivation? To get back home? Why? Literally the entire NYC sequence was built up as an inescapable hell-hole. Like she was stuck somewhere and desperately wanted an escape and was willing to do anything to get out. She kept making comments about wanting to be away from that lifestyle and wanting to breathe clean air. Lo and behold, she gets whisked away to a fantasy world that has literally all the things she wants. Is the world crumbling? Sure. Is it going to be a shitty journey? Sure. Is that going to make anyone take a step back and say "What the actual f**k?" Absolutely. BUT... She was given the opportunity to make up for her past sins. The ability to turn, not just her life, but her personality around. She was thrust into a world to make a change for the better. And this world is also the change she wanted. She wouldn't be in poverty, she would have clean air devoid of the smog from the big city, and she has the power to make a difference. She can change the world for the better and become a respected member of a community. "Nope, all that sucks. I'd rather be back in shit-hole NYC where I live in an apartment I broke into, am forced into a life of crime, about to get prison for probably a decade or two, and constantly complain about the dirty polluted air." I'm sorry... The answers to all of her problems are thrust into her face and she refuses to acknowledge any of it. She may not have been a 100% garbage character in the beginning because of her potential, but the way she was written, she ends up as one. She literally decides at the last minute to accept her "duty" and become the hero. Not a moment sooner. There's literally zero character development in the entire story. Just a switch that is flipped at the end of the game.
It seems the writers set Frey up to have a redemption arc, but ran out of time near the end of development. So they just made her do a sudden complete 180 in attitude near the end.
To be fair, this IS pretty accurate to the self-destructive nature of people living in this shithole. Vote for lockdowns at home, travel to Florida to vacation where they don't have to submit to a full cavity search just to eat some waffles, then return to NYC and shit talk the places they keep escaping to. The mass delusion in this town is fucking pathetic, and compared to a real New Yorker, this character seems reasonable.
The NPCs ESPECIALLY in cut scenes are WAY better animated & rendered than the protagonist, she looks 😲 most of the time & above ALL with her mouth animation, that was just 😵 to watch EVERYTIME she appears on screen
I probably wouldn't have mind eventually trying this game in the future on offer, however, the MC is so insufferable I know it would end up feeling like a chore to play through it and ruining any enjoyment i could get out of the game.
what's sad is this is from Square Enix, they made Lara Croft amd actually made her a likable female character, don't know why they chose to mess up with this abomination.
People that defend this game are completely blind, idk if anyone on ps5 noticed but it's already 10 dollars off a week after its release, that's not a good sign for an exclusive. Proves right there that sales were terrible
Aloy is perfectly fine. You might be projecting at this point. I agree that Frey is horribly unlikeable though. it almost seems like they skipped focus group testing. Most people would tell you that she is insufferable. Why would we want to play as a thing that we detest, even if there’s a redemption story.
@@sirrabhsurya5087 "I think Aloy is annoying" -> "UR PROJEKTINGGGG" Holy fucking shit, do you really have to be this full of shit about the most basic disagreement? Someone doesn't like a character you like so they're "projecting"? Do you even know what that word means?
This is basically a generic Isekai genre but the main character is one of the most unlikeable side character. It's like if shield hero's main character is Motoyasu.
What's with the latest trend of game devs making the dialogue unenjoyable. This game, Saints Row and so many others have corny, ass dialogue from the characters themselves being unlikable to what they're saying.
The sad part is a lot of work went into the game but the scenario is bland and the "magic" is not there. Combat is not really there for some reason ... when you compare it to Elden Ring combat well the flaws become obvious...sadly. I wanted to like Forespoken but ...nope ... Square Enix got greedy and forced the release of the game before it was completed.

I'll have you know that Fornoone is actually GOTY worthy. Has this great feature where if you press ALT + F4, you get to leave the game. The best feature by far though is that if you do ALT + F4 before the 2 hour steam limit, you get to refund it. So, not only did you get to play that game, but you also get to refund it too. No other game comes close to bringing that level of service to the AAA industry.
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Colin who lived in a small town. Colin was known by everyone in town as a bully. He would pick on other kids, take their lunches, and spread mean rumors about them. Despite this, no one stood up to Colin. They were all too afraid of him. One day, a new student came to school named Jack. Jack was small, quiet, and kept to himself. Colin saw him as an easy target and began bullying him right away. Jack tried his best to ignore Colin and his mean comments, but it was hard. Every day, Jack would come home from school with bruises and scratches, and he would hide them from his parents. However, Jack was not just any ordinary boy. He was kind, smart, and brave. Despite the constant bullying from Colin, Jack never lost his spirit. He continued to be the best student in his class, and he made many friends. One day, Jack had enough of the bullying. He stood up to Colin and told him that he would no longer tolerate his mean behavior. Colin was taken aback by Jack's bravery and for the first time, he realized the pain and hurt he had caused to others. From that day on, Colin changed his ways. He apologized to all the kids he had bullied, and he even became friends with Jack. People in the town started to see Colin in a new light and were surprised by his transformation. Years went by, and Colin went on to become a successful and well-respected businessman. He never forgot the lessons he learned in school and would often speak to children about the importance of kindness and treating others with respect. Jack, on the other hand, went on to become a teacher, and he used his experiences to teach his students about the dangers of bullying. He inspired many children to stand up for what was right and to never give up, even in the face of adversity. In the end, Colin and Jack became great friends and reminded everyone that it's never too late to change for the better. They lived happily ever after, spreading kindness and positivity wherever they went.

I don't know man, from what I've seen, yes the graphics aren't great or unique, and a mid story might as well be the worst you've ever seen, but why this excessive culture of shitting on every new game.
I think SQUAREnix already seen reviews like this before the release which was why they did not give early access to reviewers. Part of the blame for this game's poor performance should be placed on SQUAREnix as well. As a developed game company, they should have a good policies on how to publish games. If they already forseen problems like these occuring in the game, then they should put their foot down and told Luminous to take another year to proper iron out the mechanics before releasing the game. Instead, they did a lottery-style business model - put it in the market, try to control the market so independant reviewers couldn't bring it down and make as much money out of the crap as possible and then leave the creator company (Luminous Production) high and dry. This kinda of business model is what drove Naughty Dogs to a corner with the stunt they pulled with Last of Us Part 2 and business models like this seems to be coming a standard practice.
@@Atmux - Yes, unfortunately. But the good news here is that most of these practices are done by big companies such as SQUAREnix, Naughty Dogs, Ubisoft etc. The good news here is that such practices could likely to alienate these companies from their potential customers (gamers community) who could get fed up with their products. Eventually that could drive the Community toward indie game developers and that could be a good news for these new developers. They should strive in the market AS LONG AS they do not make the same mistake as the big companies are making.
@@GobiSubramaniam Some people do eventually get fed up with the AAA publishers BS, but I don't think enough people will ever stop buying their products.

Also, after only one month of sells, Forspoken had been given a discount slash up to almost 40/50 percent in PSN store. What does this says? Triple A producers' names are not strong enough to carry forth a product. Quality of the game is still the main focus of the game in minds of gamers. How is anyone defending this shit? If this was an indie game, I can understand why people would defend it, and if it's also cheap, like 20 bucks or so. BUT 70 DOLLARS!????? Plus it's SQUARE ENIX!???? why would SQUARE Enix green-light this.? Don't they double-check what the script is of this game and the game itself? But actually, I'm not that surprised tbh. Because of the Avengers game was also a failure that left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and that was also almost 70 bucks when it came out, with shameless microtransactions. If SQUARE Enix is gonna go on like this, then they are sure gonna be bankrupt. It's like they wanted to fail or something. Lol I don't get the people who are defending it. I don't get it. All that I can think of who would defend this game would be children who are like 14 or 15 and stumbled across this as their first game and think it's a Masterpiece, but they don't know that there are many better games than this. Pretty sure the reason the game cost 10 extra dollars is to pay for the top notch particle effects, because there is no other reason this game should be $70

yeah a 4/10 game for me, only enjoyed the movement and the spells and spell effects, the writing is cringe cause you dont really care about cuff or freya and shes so a bitchy character that you cant like her and the MCU type dialogue only work when characters mesh well and bounce off each other, the combat felt unfinished and at the end of the day you can beat hard difficulty with the basic rock spell side stepping and jumping pretty much everywhere, why they didnt implement some type of combo system or better spell implementation idk. The world was bland as were the characters and amounted to nothing outside of side character a b c and girl that dies to make you feel something but doesnt work cause she wasnt a big factor or important enough to care about. and Freya is probably the least interesting character in the game in terms of character growth where at the last hour of the game then she has to save the world like a flipped switch she suddenly has to do it. yes its the same team as FFXV but FFXV only really had problems with the story and the love interest and villain everything was pretty enjoyable down and the best part being Noctis and his group. forspoken doesnt even have that going for them.

I don't know exactly how much time you shave by skipping all dialog because honestly who skips HK-47, Mission, and Canderous dialog?
I see this as a blessing. I don't think that people will be able to put up with the MC for that long.
Wow, when I first saw this game, I recognized every editing trick possible to not show what it was. Played the demo and hated it. So glad I don’t buy AAA trash.
Dodged a bullet.
GAMING industry SUCKS!!
I saw somene on metacritic .Give this a 10 and give God of war Ragnarök a 3 out of 10 . Just right there this person doesn't know how to write a review .
Rage baiting at its finest.
@@Atmux Also mash the attack bottom and I was looking at my phone for a few second. So pretty much you can play this if you are blind
That's how i beat the game while i was asleep 🤣
I feel like every game nowadays just wastes my time instead of offering me a memorable experience and It's not me, I have older games that are just as fun as they were in 2012-2017 and I still enjoy them. Idk why developers don't take any feedback seriously or finish their games before launch. Everyone should punish unfinished or lack luster games, ask refunds and make every company think twice before making or releasing unfinished/shit games.
Unfortunately people will still buy them.
@@Atmux this shit is exactly why I pirate games
It looks like a shittier version of Spider-Man, with worse combat and movement.
At least Spiderman was sometimes fun.
It hurts more when you think about it.
and like a switch, she's suddenly "I'm fighting for Atheia!" when i was at that point i was so baffled cuz that is so out of character for Freya lmao
is it just me or gaming is actually keep getting more and more expensive
It"s not just you...
I mean food costs $15-$20 now per meal, so it doesn’t surprise me that gaming would cost more, these are multi million dollar games.
And this game had me like 😴

what's sad is this is from Square Enix, they made Lara Croft amd actually made her a likable female character, don't know why they chose to mess up with this abomination.
Square Enix is honestly a hit or miss.

They just wanna cope.
How did they manage to create an even more annoying charakter than Aloy?
Hire marvel writers.

Many people are saying that the protagonist in forspoken represents the typical millennial/zoomer archetype. SMH
This is basically a generic Isekai genre but the main character is one of the most unlikeable side character. It's like if shield hero's main character is Motoyasu.
Oh god no. That would be horrible.
I mean we do have the spin off, but at least in there Motoyasu is "fixed"
What's with the latest trend of game devs making the dialogue unenjoyable. This game, Saints Row and so many others have corny, ass dialogue from the characters themselves being unlikable to what they're saying.
The side effects of modern writers.
Hopefully FF 16 won't be like this.
Might as well make a fantasy parkour game.
Does that sound interesting, though?
Hey, anything can be interesting with the right execution.
20 hrs in an open world game? Geeeeeeeze 🤦🤦 what's with games charging 70 bux and being under 20 hrs? Evil west was bad and short, so was Callisto. I bought both and refuse to do this again. Glad I waited for reviews
They lived happily ever after, spreading kindness and positivity wherever they went.

i will never understand people praising the particle effects in the game, it fucking assaults you with them and they dont even look good neither do the particular particles used feel like they fit for a fantasy magic setting
Particle effects make monkey brain go boom.
The graphics are actually pretty bad for a 2023 $70 AAA title.
This game looks heavily looks like a tech demo and a example of why I barely play new games
this looks like anthem with some new paint
I don't know man, from what I've seen, yes the graphics aren't great or unique, and a mid story might as well be the worst you've ever seen, but why this excessive culture of shitting on every new game.
Negativity sells.
anyone would think this is the remastered version of a 2009 game no one played
Only good games get remastered.
"No other game could really replicate" the fun of the movement. Saints Row IV disagrees.
Yep. Publisher's greed is what ruins most games.
@@Atmux - Did you hear the latest news? For February PSN games, they are said to be offering Horizon Zero Dawn : Forbidden West for free (not for the regular buyers though). Also, after only one month of sells, Forspoken had been given a discount slash up to almost 40/50 percent in PSN store.
What does this says? Triple A producers' names are not strong enough to carry forth a product. Quality of the game is still the main focus of the game in minds of gamers. So Yeah, the sells of the games WILL drop if the quality of the games drop.
@@GobiSubramaniam I would look at games like fifa or madden where its the same game every year, but millions of people still buy them.

Modded skyrim is basically a whole different game itself.
I am sorry to say but i loved it. Before someone points out how big of a troll i am, consider the following
1) needs a live action movie/ series
2) i basically am a rookie at gaming, prolly even poor, i watch gameplay videos i am faithful to radbrad and a few RUclipsrs who upload full game in 10-20 hour videos and the storyline (though needs polishing) won me over. Even the combat and game mechanics were great (something i could get use to).
Last but not the least, bolonski and the cast are amazing they should play their respective characters if someone commissions a live action forspoken movie

Bulletstorm has so much more cringe dialogue that it's actually funny and has heart.
Yet this cringe is just doodoo water in a crumpled piece of paper.

Lol
I don't get the people who are defending it.
I don't get it.
All that I can think of who would defend this game would be children who are like 14 or 15 and stumbled across this as their first game and think it's a Masterpiece, but they don't know that there are many better games than this.
Edit: but at least the
guardians of the galaxy game was decent, and enjoyable.
You'd be surprised at the number of people defending this game.
20 hrs playing for $80 holy s! I spend $25 for pubg and i have 5500 hrs lol! Best $25 that i ever spend
Not a fan of the partial effects or the generic sound.
Pretty sure the reason the game cost 10 extra dollars is to pay for the top notch particle effects, because there is no other reason this game should be $70
The charming and witty dialogue obviously!
Congratulations on your first RUclips hit. Now, at least Forspoken doesn't drag these jokes all the time like a certain comedy FPS game by a certain popular cartoon creator.

Anyways, if forspoken was a movement sandbox like gravity rush or literally any platformer, I'd buy it.
It had a good foundation, they just fumbled it.
I hear many people praise the combat... but it was just... meh...?
Also the shadows and lighting is worse than FFXV a game on the same engine and is 6 years+ older game.

The dialogue is garbage. Just look at some of the footage around on RUclips to see it for yourself.
Their is a lot of talking, and most of it is from the issuferable MC. The devs thought making her swear a lot and hate everything would make her relatable. It does the opposite.
I can't exactly do a review if I skip the cutscenes.
This game is good, not great. Poor game design (maps being too "open") and game path. Bad dialog.
I'm enjoying the battle system.

My PC's fine lol. It was just a joke.
yeah a 4/10 game for me, only enjoyed the movement and the spells and spell effects, the writing is cringe cause you dont really care about cuff or freya and shes so a bitchy character that you cant like her and the MCU type dialogue only work when characters mesh well and bounce off each other, the combat felt unfinished and at the end of the day you can beat hard difficulty with the basic rock spell side stepping and jumping pretty much everywhere, why they didnt implement some type of combo system or better spell implementation idk.
They couldn't keep up with Square Enix's deadlines.
I was excited to get this for months. Glad they had a demo so I didn't waste money. I played for an hour. Agreed. It's not fun. She's way too op. It's way too hard to die. Interesting that the two great games that just recently came out: Hogwarts legacy and Atomic heart had massive "canceling" campaigns run against them. No one bothered with this game here. No one cared about this horrible dumpster fire.
Funny thing is that those "canceling" campaigns ended up giving the game more sales.
@@Atmux I've been quite suspicious about them to be honest. This might have actually been a genius marketing move.
