    You deserve so much credit for these tutorials, easily the main reason I watch you is because you don't shamelessly cheat like a lot of youtubers do these days through downloading assets or using cheap photo related methods to get the job done in five seconds, foliage is a pain to do at the best of times.

      You could call everything cheating if you wanted to, like procedural materials, geometry nodes or downloading textures instead of painting them in photoshop.

      @AhmadHossam 3 месяца назад

      Cheap cheating methods are the professional methods just to reduce render time n over all time taken for making the scene ur library is more important rhan ur skill
      No body gonna model every tree if u are an architect and doing some landscape for example
      U learn that when its not a hobby any more

    When I am doing a yard, I'd leave out the clover but am curious as to how much it adds to rendering time vs procedural grass. I'm using EEVEE as the focus is on the animation of construction changes and photo realism isn't center stage. I am working on an archvis project, with more in the future, and would have the grass only show for a brief time as the focus is on the remodel of the building. I'm also cutting out the grass in the scenes because of the disproportionate amount of rendering time it adds to an animation. If this method can shave off a good amount of that render time, I'd like to use it instead of procedural. I do have a pretty strong machine, i7 chip 128GB RAM, RTX 3090, all SSD's.

    Thank you for the tutorial! I needed to make grass and vegetation for my unity project, so this is nice.
    I have a question for you, the other day i was trying to create a procedural material for an old wooden barrier model, and i wanted to make the edges of the barrier look worn with some paint fading away, do you have any tips for doing somehing like that? I tried texture painting but there is too much contrast between the painted wood and the normal wood underneath, maybe i used the wrong brush.
    Anyways, thanks for your videos , they are amazing!

    Can I animate the grass to create a "growing" effect? Thanks!

  • @Tincoco_
    @Tincoco_ 4 месяца назад

    ive never encountered this issue in blender. The gradd blades that were cut from the image as plane are weirdly passting through each other. Not sure how to explain it. The actual mesh isnt touching, but the texture seems like it is
    Ok i fixed it lol. It seems that the images as planes makes the blend mode an alpha blend. You need to put it to opaque in "Materials Properties > Viewport Display > Settings > Blend Mode" Not sure if you had changed it and i just didnt catch it
