I don't think you understand the original song. "It's coming home" is a song about faithless disbelief, it's not supposed to be taken seriously, it's become a joke here in England because we always lose but sing it regardless 😂😂. It's more of a song about never giving up than getting victory, but Italy singing it's coming rome might come across as slightly cringey and arrogant because the original was obviously sarcastic and light hearted. Plus it's just a bit of a weird move to steal a countries whole chant, makes it seem like you care too much about them.
EDIT: if you disagree with this then that is fine, many people below did and I have answered their questions to the best of my ability. Can you please read the conversation before randomly replying with the same exact response as everyone else. My inbox has been blowing up like crazy and this has turned into another youtube argument. I meant absolutely no bad intent by this response, literally all I did was explain the meaning of the original song, Im not a hooligan or a racist or a drunk. I'm just a football fan who happens to be English, please just relax a bit there is no reason to be this angry or disrespectful.
Try watching the original song, I've seen so many people from other countries mistake the chant as being arrogant when it's completely the opposite, if anything it's self deprecating 😂

As an Englishman I was ashamed at the fans booing the Italian national anthem. Then worse happened. After the runners-up medal was placed around their necks EVERY player immediately took it off. This is very disrespectful of the winner, and of sport itself. The English players now consider themselves to be celebrities rather than sports players. Can you imagine someone winning a Silver or Bronze medal at the Olympics then refusing to stand on the podium. That's exactly what the English players did.
It's for the peoples like you that as an Italian, I still consider the Englishmen like gentlemen. 🤝 (but maybe I'm a little bit romantic and retró)

Obviously today there are peculiar horses defined Italian like Bardigiano, Murgese, Monterufolino, Giara, Sarcidano etc but if you search well into the past you can see at what historical fact of the past (like trades and wars) they belong to.

Definitely. We as italiansof course were very happy to win against Spain, despite the fact that Spain played better in that match. However spanish people were fair enough to lose with honor and many of them also cheered for Italy in the final.
I think also the majority of italians would've cheered Spain in the final, since they played a very strong tournament as well.
i agree that some of our fans/supporters are awful and disgusting but the way I see the medals thing is the players knowing that they let people down and feeling that they're not deserving or worthy to have the medals, not because they don't want them but because they know they could and or should have won, honestly I think I would do the same after that.
