    Hang In there! It will be a long drawn out process and just like everything else, the simplest things will test your patience and willpower. If my parents were able to endure the Filipino adoption process, then you can do it. The fact that you have to go thru this again is incredibly frustrating and would have many people unglued. You both are even keeled, which, as you know, is an important survival skill over here.

    Go to cebu and consult a big name attorney

    Good luck guys. I have my step son also and he’s already 16 years old. I didn’t or we didn’t do the adoption process except my daughter and my 5 years old son they’re automatically, a Filipino American citizen. That building that you showed, oh wow it really needs some major repair . Anyway, good luck guys & for me, heading back in home by end of may. I’m retiring & hope to meet you all soon. God bless.🙏

    Try to ask the DSWD because we tried to adopt my step son too before.. we. Went to DSWD and advised us it's better to adopt in the United States because of the adoption process here. In the Philippines it takes really long.. I think DSWD got more knowledge about adoption...

      Hi been following for a while! US citizen married to Filipino and we are going through the adoption process now. Everything has changed and we were told no more adoptions are processed through court. You should talk to DSWD as our previous lawyer scammed us.

    its very expensive. you need to declare it also in newspaper. have a lot of patience, and if it will not happen, its just okay as long as you love and accepted liam as your son, its a great, its God given gift for liam to have a step dad like you.. thanks for your attitude imagine you really want to be a legal dad of liam. while some biological father abandoned their son and daughter, GOD bless..

    03:50. All you need is a little caulk, duct tape, and spray paint to fix the stairs to as good as new.

    I wouldn't. I would talk to an attorney a in the US about using his last name cuz adopted last name talk to one of your congressman or senators for the US and bring it up to them and see what they say. That's what I would do because you're going to you. Going to have a mixed barrel of nuts when you try to use his different names and you could screw up his passport and the citizenship real name or adopting me. That's my thinking

    Just be patient with adoption in the Philippines, it may take awhile.

  • @mercxmorris

    Similar situation, back in 2005 took us about 2 years and $1,000 usd (all in). No real roadblocks, just a slow process. Also, FYI we did the adoption first in P.I. and the U.S. accepted it (no need for 2nd adoption doing it that way). My advice, just get it done.

    • @Marker44
      @Marker44  8 месяцев назад

      Probably the best for us would have been to do Philippines adoption but we live in the US. Lesson learned lol. Thanks for the information!

    Lawyers, travel agents, certain businesses grab the 2nd/3rd office space floors in a hotel. It is not that uncommon. I'll deal with my adoption issues in the U.S. but good info.

    DSWD adoption does not need attourney and cost about 15,000 pesos. Maybe 300 dollars. You do it yourself. And they will guide you

    I would weigh the benefits of going through the Filipino Court process. You have the American done which is the biggest set of benefits in terms of Citizenship ext…. The court process in the Philippines is going to be a mess, it normally is.

      You have the birth and blood law if one parent is a a US citizen and a childcis born abroad automatic citizenship. If alien patent obtains citizenship all children under the age of 18 automatically get citizenship.
