Pfeffer's book on Power (and Mintzberg's on Strategy) were the only two business books I re-read for fun after studying them in College. So clear and interesting!
excellent, i've been rather unknowingly using these skills in conferences for my new job, which i've been able to utilize the newness of the situations to realize and enact myself better, expressing better my unique qualities and overall, confidence. but yes, bring the positive expectations to the engagements and speak up when needed, which means several times daily. learning to use power well (realism) to effect change in the world (idealism). getting Power from the library, ty
I find it eye opening. Yet, using the word "leader" as if it was synonymous with "Executive" and then concluding that Elon Musk is a great leader given his success, is illogic and false. Elon Musk is certainly a successful executive, but when it comes to leadership there is really place for debate.
