Yess!! Thankyou Carl! So funny you should do a lesson for this song, I've just put the CD of the album back in my car. Would love if you could do some more songs from this album 🤘🏻🔥
Like that octave riff, really highlights the song. Join the Academy and get more of Carl's great teaching, just like he did here explaining effective muting when playing octaves. The Academy has a plethora of many courses - something for every level of guitar playing!
Hey. Sort of late to this party. Song just showed up as a "rec" on my youtube. Anyway, after watching your instruction on this song I have to ask, "How the heck do you get an D major chord in tune on your Strat? I've got several electric guitars, including 2 Strats, and no matter what tricks I try (e.g. 3rd fret E string vs. open G string; 3rd fret B string vs. open D string) I can't get a tuned D chord. Acoustics no problems but electrics = an exercise in futility. Thanks
Boy, when they played this song at a certain bar at a certain time that I would go to back in the day, I’d chug my brew an hopefully find a chic to leave the bar with, but mostly not ever got to leave with a chic….😂. Then I would just go home all tickled up an chug some riffs out on my guitar! 😂 Thanks for taking me back man! PEACE!
I need to know how you can develop or train your ear to be capable of learning a song note for note by just hearing it alone. I'd spend so much time learning my collection
Check out the book Reading, Writing, Rhythmatic by Roberta Radley. You can buy the ebook or a physical copy for a little more. The chapters break things down so you learn to hear everything about a song. She's one of those Berklee Music school teachers, and I found the book going thru their course syllabus for ear training courses. You'll have to do a little work, but the book makes it simple instead of overly complicated like other books make things seem.
Hey Carl, new to the channel. I was learning Good Times Bad Times and I discovered your lesson. Just two questions, did you ever do the solo lesson? And an unrelated question, is there a way to search through your video? May be operator error, but when I did a search in the search box it went to the web, not the site I was on. When any site you’re on have an endless stream of videos and you pick one, it doesn’t resume from your last search and goes to the top of the long list again. Thanks, Anthony
Love the recent lessons back to these 90’s songs…

Another great tutorial, you teach with the patience and knowledge of a professor

Just wondering how you choose certain songs for lessons? Is it by patreon requests or just random selection?
Can you please make a lesson for song Dance macabre by Ghost the band :))
Hey, Carl! Could you do a lesson on Dialectic Chaos, by Megadeth?
seems like there are some timing differences on the riff in the final chorus?
Used to hate that song. The prick dj always played it at last call. Usually meant the fun was coming to an end.

Did you have a compressor pedal on? I don't know why I feel like I hear it
