It's definitely more complex than 86 in terms of what's happening, but basically, this is like taking 86 and making it more complex in an interesting way.
like I said before, this is a light novel series that finished back in 2020, thats part of why its so good. theres both a manga adaption and this anime adaption of this light novel series, the manga is ahead a few arcs and it had alot more character interactions going on in the manga compared to episodes 1 and 2 of the anime, other than that I'm glad they aren't rushing the vanessa fight. I really liked what I read of the manga and the manga is still ongoing same with the anime, but like I said the novels are already finished as of 2020, wish I knew where to read the novels to give you an idea of what happens, but from what I've read of the manga its amazing and even several arcs in we still have more questions about the world than answers, its amazing. sword art online is also a light novel series but the anime and games don't do it justice, the light novels are way better and more fleshed out with more character povs and backstories and emotional moments and character perspectives(even more kirito and asuna romance and asuna's perspective when kirito was on the way to the hospital in alicization) and more game mechanic details for the boss fights, especially in sao progressive, and even explanations on how powers work in alicization. but yeah, unlike sao, this anime adaption has been very well done, I'm impressed.
maybe you should try the manga it's pretty nice
ignore the people labeling this series a ecchi or harem, they're wrong, this is a seinen. you know, the alternative to shonens for ages 18 to 40. this will be alot darker than kaiju no 8, tragedy is one of its genres.

Funny you mention 86 because some people were calling this anime the "86 cast reunion anime" with Shouya Chiba (Shin) voicing Kai, Haruka Shiraishi (Kaie) voicing Jeanne, Seiichirou Yamashita (Raiden) voicing Ashran and Sayumi Suzushiro (Kurena) voicing Saki. And as a fan of the manga, I'm glad to see this show actually doing well in terms of animation so far. Definitely one of my top animes of Summer 2024 if the studio keeps up with the quality.

@@gimpxors3 Not really. There are just too many holes in the plot big enough you can fly a Star Destroyer through it. One of it is they trust Kai too much to just let him walk into their camp armed with a weapon that does not exist in this world.
In this episode, Kai did not try to take advantage that Vanessa is occupied with the intruder, to attack her. He just stood there watching. It is just bad writing imo.
@@zam023 And this is the, "I don't like it so I'm going to be hypercritical about it" mentality. What you are doing is something that can be done to literally any piece of fiction. It's ok to just not like it without trying to pretend you are doing so for a 4d chess reason.

Vanessa looks like she'll be a popular one lol. The way she fought back against the Last Riser was really cool, I'm liking her role.
The fact that the character designers are quite good at designing smashable characters doesn't hurt...
When you hear the VA speaks, you should know Vanessa is Badass.

The manga's art is really good, that was the biggest worry for me going into this series that it would get a bad adaption but so far they're doing it quite nicely. It probably would be more popular if it was more well known though. The manga was relatively slow to update which makes sense... The author is Kei Sazane... who wrote this, Our Last Crusade, God's game we play, another nice series that never got adapted called World's End Encore...

when it was mentioned that rinne was possibly all races at once, I was kinda thinking along the lines of "progenitor of all races''
To me, Vanessa reaction to 'Sid' somehow reminded the car keys scene from the episodes before. In a sense that she might have PTSD dreams from OG world were Sid killed her --> Which resulted in abnormal behaviour --> Which brought attention of lamia-snake-robogirl
I'm more interested in this whole administrator robot that shows up to "fix" things.
My brain is fried thinking what the bloody hell is happening? Im just hoping they dont mess up the mistery plot.

I swear, now the mystery is even more complicated. World reincarnation, I never expected that. Nonetheless this episode was good, some good fights, we got to see a really cool dual wielding character and I gotta say she’s my favorite of the support characters. I’d say the greatest mystery shown in this episode is this other person Vanessa was referring to, I’m guessing they’re a higher being of some kind or maybe it’s the name of a character that I just don’t remember. Then we have the sudden reveal that Rinne is the embodiment of all races, I didn’t expect it’d be all of them. My last thing is, oh boy we find out Vanessa is stronger than in the world Rinne remembers so I can only wonder why. This was a good episode and some stuff answered and many more questions. I need more.
I agree; this show is fantastic. One thing, the "world reincarnation" angle was revealed to Kai in episode 1 as the world changed. It is not a concept new to this episode.
The animation in this episode was insane 🔥, lets see if they can handle it in next episodes
It started slow but it is getting better. Plus the other world order is also like order correctors who don't support anyone it seem.
They heard Sid and attack hope Kai gets confidence to use the sword before his friends die.
Also , the updated opening without reused footage is always a plus 💪

I agree man this is strong series that should not be overlookd it some ways it does resemble 86. Seems like Rinne is a combnation off all best/strongest parts of other races. She probably was looked up because of her popotential amd what she knows about ther races and what she can do them give the chance. Her and our MC are dynamic duo. Love that I don't know where this series is going and it makes me think of wild speculations. Is the a re-write world?, rebirth with changes or a pararel? what happesn to Rinne if the world is revertaed? can it be reverted? will he have to chose this world or his original ? its wild man.

This is the best episode. Normally when studio want to flex the animation became 30fps. But not this one. The budget seems to spread equally, resulting in the consistency of the episode where there's no stiff animation and not using CG as much as other series.
What I love the most is the fire magic Vanessa uses. The last time I complimented fire animation was Fire Force.
This has been one of my favorites on Saturdays! The world intrigues me and the Mc is super cool! Also the visuals is amazing there was so much action in this episode🔥🔥
I think Sid is only known by all the heroes of each race/species. Only think that makes sense. I feel like Vanessa might have restarted the world with some other key or worse those alien things that tried killed her
I don't think there's rumors so much as them starting to remember things when given trigger phrases, really sus.
I don't know if you remember in Ep 2, but when Kai and Rinne escaped, there was a brief overlay of Kai of someone (assume Sid) with a hood and different face. Then the sword was gone.
Also Rasterizer seems crazy. But I'm down with Vanessa lmao.
Vanessa said "Sid" once and that thing appeared complaining that a forbidden word was spoken. Kai said "Sid" so many times and nothing happened.
Still not sure what exactly this story is trying to be but I’m curious enough to see the rest of it so I do know. For me the best part of this show is how it’s spinning the concept of demons, angels, beasts, whatever the fourth thing was, and humans being at war with each other. Then you have that hybrid girl who’s rocking the same thing Ichigo is but more obvious about it. Welp as long as I’m entertained.

Episode 3 is the best so far.
I just got into this show like a few days ago and it's got great potential. The plot is just one of the best. EP1 just hits you in a psychological way from MCs pov. Also the music is great especially the ed. I can't wait for them to release the full version. I just wished this anime was released earlier (weeks earlier) so that people would check it out before getting buried in other animes like alya etc. cause the other spring anime just airing now barely get enough attention cause they were late to the party
Admitedly this story is well written. A bit quick on the trust and final mission to end the demons, that said, the lore is interesting. I like the idea. Demons are the big bad. Nope. It gets worse. Love it.

I think Rinne is an error in the "code" as no being should be able to be part of every race as it seems so far. This is purely a theory but i also think that she is an error in the "code" as when the snake robot looking character refers to her in the second episode, she is referred to as "?????".

Anime only but my guess is that Vanessa will stop ep4 as the world is reincarnated again. Vanessa, Kai, and Rinne will find themselves in a third/different world that's ruled by dragons or elves or something this time. They agree to find out what's going on so they can all get back to their own worlds or ... maybe all their worlds are wrong are they need to restore it to the prime condition? Maybe Rinne or Kai sacrifice themselves to do so or something.

This show is not a masterpiece or anything but it's still plenty good...too bad the manga art is so fu*king god tier that i can't watch it animated. 🤣
I am having kinda dejavu from SAO.... that thing tried to rewrite (or delete) Vanessa really made me remember Yue and system Cardinal from SAO... Which makes me wonder what if there is a paralel and "the master" who did this reincarnation was actually Sid human hero and thats why noone remembered him... Why he did that, why it took this much time before it activated idk its just a theory.. But I agree that Cids sword is key to this (at least 1 of the keys since there could be more similar swords)
I just finished watching this episode and man it was great love the animation and i really dont know where we’re going from here because its Only episode 3 and we’re already fighting vanessa so im interested to see how this all plays out im looking forward to more of these reviews 🫡💯
