That was an awesome video bc of the truth behind it! Thank you for sharing. @@NSResponder Now this is going back a long way to 1976 or so: I was working in the B.W.I. island of Grand Cayman as a dive master/instructor and Jim Daily, the owner of Surf Side Water Sport Ltd. asked me to take this fellow out on the Hobby Cat and teach him how to sail it. After telling him how to do it, showing him how to do it, having him do it, he says to me, "I hear what you are saying. I just haven't internalized it yet." ((!?!)) I went through the whole process again only this time I had him at the tiller all the time and pointed out all the how's and why's the wind pushes the boat via the sail. Once again he gave me the "internalized it" routine. After three hours we headed back to the beach as I did not want to waste his money on instructions he was not able to "internalize". We arrived at the beach and I asked him if he would like to take her out for a solo. He thanked me but said he was not comfortable on his own and said he was done with sailing. He paid for the lessons and even gave me a tip. I'm still wondering what he meant by internalize

Not lumber related but fun just the same. A co-worker and I went out one winter morning to inspect an electrical manhole for a job that I was working on. The manhole in question is in the north lane of a 4-lane street. We pull over the top of the manhole and park just beyond in order to work off the back of the truck. this is where the ladder and tools are. A young blond mother and her adorable 2 or 3 year old son were walking west on the north sidewalk hand in hand. I had just set the traffic cones out and had just pulled the manhole's cover. The young lad seeing this jerked his hand from his mother's hand and came running over and was intently looking down into the electric manhole, peering here and there. I asking him what he was looking for and his reply was "NINJA TURTLES!". We had a good laugh and it made our day.
Proud of all you... for me being in RUclips for over 2 years it’s not easy being self employed and filming your business. You all have it going now. 5k that was fast! I Hope to be there someday too :) keep up the great work
I went to a Home Depot or Lowes in the lumber department and asked if they had Oak, and the millennial working there asked "What is that? Some kind of wood or something?". I said yes, from an Oak Tree. He was still clueless.
Years ago I needed some 5/4 ×12 kd white pine. Had a similar experience. They tried to sell me treated decking. I finally had to tell them; "Never mind, I'll go to a real lumberyard."
The worst I've experienced is being in a senior position on an engineering team, walking up to an early twenties intern engineering student shared amongst the team, asking them to do a task that was fairly important, and getting in response, "Why don't you do it?". I have to admit this was funny and yes the customers ask me where is product in the store and they can't apparently read the signs or are just too lazy too do so and I still guide them to the exact aisle of the product and I done my job accordingly !!!
I don’t buy lumber very often, and I needed some rip cuts bc if they didn’t do it, I didn’t have any other option. So, instead of inflicting my ignorance on the guy in the yard, I made friends with the salesman inside, and solicited his advice, which he was very happy to give, and I made a point to show my appreciation. After he rung up the sale and gave me the ticket for the yard guy, I just asked him if there was anything I needed to know-best place for me to be to get served, best place to put my truck, etc. Turned out he had a couple of tips for me that helped me a lot. When in doubt, make a friend. If you’re old enough to buy lumber hopefully you’ve learned how to do that.
That was hilarious..!!! It was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS in fact. 🥳 We have grandkids a few years older than you & Jade, and you couldn’t have done a Better job than that.👍👌👏
Me, my wife and grandchildren had the privelege last week of going out to the log yard and seeing the girls work up close and personal. They worked just as hard off camera as on camera. The girls were very gracious in showing the grandchildren the operation. Dad was ever so kind and patient to answer all my dumb questions. What a great operation and a hard working family. We had a great time at the log yard.
Emerald...you absolutely "nailed "portraying those soft, clueless, no back bone millennials! I had a good chuckle with the lifting bit!😂😂 Love your family's work ethics and of course your videos. Keep up the good work y"all 👍
When i moved to Coastal Oregon, back in 2007 there was a timber yard / store across the 4 lane road. On my first visit I asked for 6, 8ft 4x2's tanilized, but not for in ground,. The young guy had a giggle and asked where I was from ( New Zealand ) I told him and after the normal where is that, he told me that here in America we say the thickness then the width , the the length of the lumber first. as ie" 2x4x8. He had no idea what tanilized was but suggested Nature Wood. I said I would go and pay for it inside and if he could get them out of the stack, wrap some plastic wrap around the ends I will pick it up on my way out.. They all laughed as they saw me pick up the bundle, and head towards the 4 lane road with it on my shoulder. They said to me , hey .. put it in your car. I replied ,I only live two doors down that street across the road, Why would I bring a car or truck if i live that close and it is Sunday Morning, there is hardly any traffic.. I went there many times and had many laughs, plenty of donuts & Coffee which were free for customers ( no wonder the place was crawling with construction guys during the week) We all talk the same, we just say things a little differently..
Wired a house in America with a Kiwi, He was the home builder a beautiful log home.. All went well customer happy till he saw half the light switches were installed upside down. My off to his on blamed it on equatorial interference.
Because this is true, some of the humor is lost. You and your kin seem to be the exception to the rule, and it's very refreshing to see younger people not afraid of a little manual labor, dirt, and perspiration. It all washes off at the end of the day. That was good entertainment. Be happy in the realization that they have yet to ask for 5cm x 10cm x 300cm. As always, Best regards.
First time watching. That was funny and true clip!!! 👍 😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣 We have a guy to come cut our lumber form logs that i cut down. The lumber isnt light at all. We cut for 8 hrs with a 30 to 1hr lunch. Its really amazing what the logs holds in side them. Its really cool looking lumber. 😎
I find that your video is funny and true. I find that so many young people can not do simple math and do not want to do manual labor. You and your sisters are very hard workers and will do well in life.
So funny it's so true how they can be, I had people question my landscape prices like why do I have to charge so much to plant bushes and why do I have to charge extra for cutting their tree down since I am already there it should be included in my bush planting. I am like this is not free landscape services incorporated they went out of business. Also had clients refuse the price for work then they attempt it themselves and call me halfway through and say ok you do it it's to hard and now I know why you charge what you do.
Epic. I had a guy once order 18ft 3x4s. When he picked them up, he pulled out a tiny, blunt chainsaw and cut them into 6ft lengths. He only wanted 6ft, but for some reason, thought 18ft was easier for me to mill.
We all have similar stories I believe. I went into the lumber yard and told the guy that I needed a 2 by 10. He asked me how long I needed it I looked at him and said I didn't realize you all rented lumber that's pretty cool. It was great seeing him just stand there ready to explode ,then I started laughing and said has that actually ever happened to you and he said believe it or not it really did someone thought I meant how long they really needed it like they could borrow it we had a good laugh but it is sad To know that the person that you are portraying really does exist. Thank you so much for seeing the values that your parents are teaching you And learning on your own . Is then putting them to use

This was entertaining...Do more of these videos please.
That was hilarious..!!! It was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS in fact. 🥳
We have grandkids a few years older than you & Jade, and you couldn’t have done a Better job than that.👍👌👏
Reminds me of my own kids. Funny!
Ok i could not stop 😅laughing. More of this please. I love this stuff. How refreshing you girls are.
That is so very funny.. Thank you, I needed a good laugh
you crack me up. i needed a laugh today.
Emerald...you absolutely "nailed "portraying those soft, clueless, no back bone millennials! I had a good chuckle with the lifting bit!😂😂
Love your family's work ethics and of course your videos.
Actually windows and doors are measured width x height. If some ordered a 7 x 16 garage door it would be extremely tall and narrow.
Wired a house in America with a Kiwi, He was the home builder a beautiful log home.. All went well customer happy till he saw half the light switches were installed upside down. My off to his on blamed it on equatorial interference.
@@powerwagon3731 maybe I missed something but I'm pretty sure he was talking about lumber
@@twistedlimb4053 haha. Quick question. Which half were upside down hahaha. See Im an aussie and in my opinion yours were the upside down ones haha
@@NTLFarm the switches I wired said "ON" his said "NO" when the light came on😁
Ha ha!!!...I used to work in a Lumber yard, I had many similar experiences with some customers
Anything you people get into in the great outdoors sounds fine to me.
First time watching. That was funny and true clip!!! 👍 😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣
We have a guy to come cut our lumber form logs that i cut down. The lumber isnt light at all. We cut for 8 hrs with a 30 to 1hr lunch. Its really amazing what the logs holds in side them. Its really cool looking lumber. 😎
Omg lol. 2 minutes in and I'm already feeling sick haha.
I find that your video is funny and true. I find that so many young people can not do simple math and do not want to do manual labor. You and your sisters are very hard workers and will do well in life.
"Well, some people have jobs,,,soooo..." hahahahahahaha, excellent!
Funny stuff...you can see it ANYWHERE. For sure!!!
Luv these vids , too funny glad you popped up on feed ,,
I've seen all of that out of the WORKERS at the mill where I worked. :D
As a Vietnam-era veteran Boomer. I love what you do and your work ethic. Great work! 🤩🤩🤩
Epic. I had a guy once order 18ft 3x4s. When he picked them up, he pulled out a tiny, blunt chainsaw and cut them into 6ft lengths. He only wanted 6ft, but for some reason, thought 18ft was easier for me to mill.
Excellent job, couldn’t agree more!!!
Emerald, You are precious.
Really starting to like this channel! Just up the road from you in Tunkhannock
I've seen bits of this in multiple people, but thankfully I've never met one THAT bad lol
If we all started writing in cursive and driving stick shifts, we could cripple a whole generation.
Which is why I drive a 5-speed Pathy and write all notes in cursive.
Deal. You're on. Let me know when the games begin. 😁
So funny but true!
Ha!! Well said!
Stick shift protects you from millenials stealing your car.
That was bloody funny mate!
God bless your parents.. They're raising decent Americans who are willing to work and have a nice personality.
Ok that was funny. I have worked with people like that. They have no ability to do anything. Keep working hard. You will achieve much in life.
Very good job, you tell the truth about it
I’ve met people like this too it does happen in the UK like watching you RUclips Michael
If that is what it is like now! I am SOooooo Glad that I am Retired. That was so funny.
i worked retail for 12 years and you could write a book on customers lol, thanks that was brilliant
FUNNY, Emerald... I can only imagine...
