Congratulations on your graduation success, Emerald & Jade. My opinion after 40 years in business is that you will learn more from running the business than desk learning will teach you. With your work ethic and great attitude nothing can ever stop you for very long! Bravo ! 👍👍👍
Just realized why I like to watch your videos so much, other than the obvious! A rare combination of gentleness and strength, both physical and spiritual. I also like that you like to touch the wood, so you don't wear gloves, not afraid to get your hands dirty!
CONGRATULATIONS to both of you for graduating from high school and you get extra points from me for doing so whilst home schooled. Now enjoy some time off, you deserve it!
Different from the usual, and I really enjoyed it. Why not go back to once a week and give yourself a break, most of your subscribers will still be here!
Well done! One thing to try for your edger is liquid paraffin. Grease will work, however, until the dust and dirt get in the way it will become problematic. Liquid paraffin stays clean and performs the same function as grease.
I was actually just thinking, hell it must be a lot of extra work and commitment making these videos on top of the daily grind! Your daily efforts are pretty inspiring to see though. You’re such a hard working family and you’re all so genuine and unaffected. So don’t stay away too long!👍👍
I would take a rubber grease gun hose and make it connect onto the grease fitting that’s way hard to get to and have that hose feed out to an area where it’s easy to score of the grease in. Like a rubber hose extension clipped right onto it and then you can grease it easily out in the open. A double female grease gun hose and a double male grease gun fitting out in the open bolt it onto the conveyor. You could probably do it for 20 bucks
I see you don't use gloves. I'm a retired sheet metal worker. Never used gloves either. You learn how to grab the material correctly. Good video. I'm new to your channel and enjoyed it.
I might be able to help you here . I'm a retired maintenance man from A wood factory . Places , we could not grease easily. I would change the fitting out at the grease point and move that grease point outside of the machine where you could grease it easily whenever you want ... that's just the easy way
Thank you for the review of the Edger machine. This recycles what would be slabs waste. Clever! Curious, with the price of diesel and gasoline today and considering EVERYTHING runs on one type of motor or another I wonder how that's impacted your operational overhead? Is there no electric power at the mill site? If not, why not? Also, you are nature beyond your years and that's a rarity in these times. Enjoy your channel very much. You and Jade are a great pair.
If your hard to get at internal grease fitting is fixed (non moving) there are grease fitting extensions you could position in a more accessible location. GM uses them on their Express vans for the Idler and pitman arms. Hope this helps. God bless and stay well.
I would go home everyday with 27,542 splinters in my hands! I wear gloves on the farm every day, all day long. I watched you video about not wearing them and I'm amazed.
Congrats on graduation from high school. I hope the opportunity to advance your education is available to you. He have video presence: you might have a future in media, but above all else, never stop learning.
Congratulations on your graduation! May life always be great to you girls! Your day at the mill provides great exercise and a commitment to life and family. Remember, you are always working for someone else's betterment! That's the reward, helping others in life! Love your videos. Also you seem much more mature then your age.
When I was a kid, I ran the gang edger at a stud mill in White City (Medford) Oregon. The mill had been totally updated and refurbished and I heard that it closed down in the 90s but I'm not sure about that. On our edger, the blades were fixed. 2" on the left and 4" on the right. The gang saw used a steam ram for feeding (we only cut peeler cores with it). We also had an overhead rig for logs. It was a great place to work at. It was a family owned mill and they were good to their work force.
BEST IDEA sell fences ready of what is peeled off when you sow logs the white on the oak logs must not be included dip them in black china oil they become very nice easy to sell iron them together if the buyers want it dimensions 3-6 cm wide it also needs to be long where the stack is to be attached make posts with with a slope at the top approx. 120cm long sharpen them in a saw leave approx. 3-4 cm at the tip that is not narrower than that 4 by 4 inch or narrower posts
I,ll say it again..you need to look up "sawmill contraption" on youtube..it,s a video posted by a guy named percy .he has a lt 70 and saws all by himself and puts out alot of lumber everyday.the contraption is a homebuilt conveyor with air operated kickers on it. It,s crude but slick and takes the work out of sawing lumber. You talked about needing a third person..the third person is the conveyor and kickers..with that conveyor you could saw by yourself and just have somebody piling lumber. I,am building my conveyors now but including a multi head resaw which I will be building myself also.
Sometimes keeping a business small just works. Once you start shelling out payroll for an extra hand you have to figure out how to keep them busy when transitioning from one area of production to the next.
Dunnage. Good use of the English language. I’m impressed. Most people your age don’t speak in coherent sentences, much less have such a good vocabulary. Awesome.
Friend has similar edger. I welded a small hex on the lever/handle area. Then put long wrench on it, pull handle and way more leverage. No matter how much grease it was always sticky
Forget the grease, get a pint sized oil can , mix 50/ 50 automactic transmision fuild and diesel, and give the shaft a sqirt once in a while. The oil helps and the diesel cuts any pitch from collecting. I used to feed a bull edger, two movable saws and that did the trick. Grease collects sawdust and pitch and the mix is not bothered by the cold. Ed
Oh, well happy for you grad. Cool.. you know how to use it that’s all matters. I was going to use that board for horizontal overlapping for my hobby barn.
The dunnage is so the forks on your forklift will come out and wont do damage, get stuck or pull the lifts off. Use a lithium grease on the sizer shaft and it would be cobsidered a handle but lever is understandable. Put some gloves on them hands to help prevent splinters, I am sure you get them.
I enjoy your videos so much, you are a natural at appearing before the camera, I straight edge boards on my table saw in my cabinet shop, it must take a while on your edger to eyeball it down the whole board until it's second nature, thanks
Do you work out? You have some awesome strong looking arms🤩 Looking into getting into log milling with a friend myself, he bought a Canadian model bandsaw mill. For us it would not be a full time thing but we are very exited about it! Greetings from Finland!
I used to work with a guy who would talk about drinking beer all the time. Drove me nuts. One hot day in Texas I made a pot of coffee on break. The beer drinker asked me how can you drink hot coffee on a hot day. I said "Do you drink cold beer on a cold day." He said Yes and laughed. Realizing that is sorta the same thing.
Have you ever tried cappuccino? It Is like drinking 5 cups of coffee in a single cup. My favourite is English toffee cappuccino. It tastes like caramel.
well, hope you can get wider deep on machine so can make beams if want too, and would be nice to see something done with stomps even it is making charcoal, i know other things can be made out of it because it like burl wood and could make laminates if had right machine because it's easy to carry
Hey really enjoy your videos I run the same edger I did get the larger engine but I edge 2 inch thick Black Locust through it and it handles it fine I would think yours should also and congrats on graduating !!
I laughed hard at the coffee discussion. I dont know your heritage but I come from several generations of Swedish carpenters (the carpenter gene skipped me). It could be 100 degrees out but coffee break on a jobsite was always hot coffee.
Not familiar with that particular brand, but most likely a pinion gear/screw assembly with the required bearing/race. Disassemble that, clean and lube, as well as your bearing/s. Machine sits outside, minor rust and fine sawdust buildup. Once a year maintenance.
Hello, I just found your channel, I love watching your video's, They are Great, I must ask you How you got into this Business, I always wanted to do this, Thank You, Cousin Figel
Automate! You're whole process is due for an upgrade, so that you don't need to handle the lumber as much, nor the logs. Your Woodmizer needs a cousin to do the sizing/trimming work while the LT40 is still your main breakdown saw. A live-deck would make it so much easier and improve the throughput.(More board-ft per day) That way the edger can come into the normal running process without the need for an extra set of hands.
I know nothing about lumber yards, but as I was watching this, I thought the same thing about efficiency. I guess that's the trials & tribulations of a small business. You cross those hurdles when they arise & usually way too long after you should have. It would seem smart to have the edger right after the initial trimming of the planks. Trim the plank, throw it on the edger. Both cuts done in a minute.
Hey, take what you need for time off girl. You do a great job. The way you do your videos is amazing, i thi k it,s your calling,,, if there is such a thing. Stay strong you 3 woodchucks😘👋

One of the most wholesome families on the planet far as I can tell.
Love it!! "The boss" did a very good job raising his family!
Before RUclips I never knew about all of the wonderful technology we use …amazing how someone dreamed these tools up.
Just realized why I like to watch your videos so much, other than the obvious! A rare combination of gentleness and strength, both physical and spiritual. I also like that you like to touch the wood, so you don't wear gloves, not afraid to get your hands dirty!
Take your time going, hurry back! Back in the day we thought that was clever, lol. Have a good mini-vaca ladies, you earned it.
I'm realizing there are many others just like me who enjoy and appreciate the clear articulation of your concise and insightful narrations.
CONGRATULATIONS to both of you for graduating from high school and you get extra points from me for doing so whilst home schooled. Now enjoy some time off, you deserve it!

I have to agree.
Me too.🙃
Congratulations on graduating and getting more subscribers.

Good Job Emerald and Jade👏👏👏👏👌👸👸🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Hi from Paris, France Ladies and nice video as usual 👋🇺🇸🇨🇵❤️❤️❤️❤️
The daily episodes were great, enjoy your break.
You’re getting a lot ,ore comfortable in front of the camera. Thanks for the tour of the edger and explanation of the process. Nice work.
Have a nice break. You are an important inspiration to young women around the world.

Really liking these demonstration videos. Doesn't matter the temperature outside, hot coffee is always good
Always good to see what you are up to. That said enjoy your break

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this channel. I grew up on a wooded farm in PA and miss my home state very much.
Hi Em I really liked this video, you talking through all the features and why you do it that way. Like the vids where you talk more and explain!
You are a professional young lady

Excellent video Em. Looking forward to some more "Logger Logic" and "woodyard Wisdom" from the Boss someday soon.
I have the upmost respect for your family and business. 😊

Coffee is like, kid. :) But too hot? 1985 found me in the Sahara desert training in the Army in August. We still drank coffee. :)

Y'all are awesome! I love seeing how the lumber is made.
Girl, you have the most amazing diction I have ever heard. Keep it up you are a delight to listen to.

Do you work out? You have some awesome strong looking arms🤩 Looking into getting into log milling with a friend myself, he bought a Canadian model bandsaw mill. For us it would not be a full time thing but we are very exited about it! Greetings from Finland!
Have you ever considered converting all of your waste into saw dust and then creating wood pellets for heating purposes?
I believe I heard someone say you had a 38 on the hip opposite the new knife, missed it today, LOL. Enjoy your break.
Great video and good explanation of the edger. Take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next video.
The pices off the edger have you thought about getting a chipper like they use on tree limbs. A pleasure to watch.
Crank that thing girl!
It's a "Crank" handle!!
I love you guys and your awesome!

Keep the voice.
It gets people's attention.
It gives individuality to your personality.
Great overview of the edger
Hey really enjoy your videos I run the same edger I did get the larger engine but I edge 2 inch thick Black Locust through it and it handles it fine I would think yours should also and congrats on graduating !!
Love y’all ❤️🇺🇸👍🏼 have fun with your time off 😊🙏
Looking into buying one, really like your video. The specs say it’ll cut up to 2 1/4” thick.
Enjoy the time off! Well deserved!

Hello, I just found your channel, I love watching your video's, They are Great, I must ask you How you got into this Business, I always wanted to do this, Thank You, Cousin Figel
You should sell your own coffee Emerald. :) I love the dooky thing.
Another fine video Emerald, Spring in Pennsylvania, fine fine fine...
enjoy you guys
Great explanation. Is college in your futures?
Can you use WD40 to grease the spot in that cutter? You can get a can with a straw that can help to get into small spaces.
with all do respect but A beautiful girl with superior DNA, her kids one day will have athletic gifts 👍
You should consider taking off the rings on your fingers. If a splinter gets caught you can easily be drawn into the machine
Your really cool. Great show thanks. Peace
Thanks!
Another great informative video!!!
How about a video explaining the camera and audio (microphone) you use to create your videos?
Just came across your channel a few days ago and was wondering how this machine worked, weird timing haha!
Good info though, Keep up the good work.
It's a great channel

sell oak poles split from trees that are at least 10cm at the top split them and sharpen them 180cm and 200cm long
Will I be correct if I say that the most common board thickness you produce is a one inch?
Hey, take what you need for time off girl. You do a great job.
The way you do your videos
is amazing, i thi k it,s your calling,,, if there is such a thing.
Stay strong you 3 woodchucks😘👋
You go girl
With an Range-Road edger I do 2 inches and 18 large
What was the temperature when you made this video ???
Never to hot for coffee, I drink it all day long at 102😊
