I learned the ironing thing about 60 years ago from my mother. I set the iron to cotton and iron away. As long as you're moving, it doesn't burn. No worries. I finally finished the shopping also and start baking bread and making fudge tomorrow. I ordered a red blouse for Christmas instead of making anything. I'm not real good at sewing for myself. ironing your pattern is something I learned in school 40 years ago and I thought everyone knew it lol - only thing is if you alter your pattern and use "tape" to hold it together ironing the pattern may no longer be an option (in some places on the pattern) - love watching you sew and getting into the details
I usually iron my pattern pieces after my fabric with the iron turned off, using the residual heat. Sometimes I’m lazy and try to get away with not doing it but it’s always better if I do 😂
