    Haven't heard this song in years. Enjoyed the sound of your gourd banjo, nice mellow sound. Great singing as well. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks. Who says banjo music can't be mellow, right? :)

    Thanks so much, Larry - I really like how this song sounds in the lower tuning.

    Kenneth - no, I typically play on open backs. I have a few modern style steel string open backs, an open back minstrel style banjo, and then the gourd banjo you see in the video here. However, there are folks that play clawhammer on resonator banjos, and they sounds great, too!

      Nice precedent for that, too--fella name of Ward?

    I really enjoy your playing, especially your timing and drop thumb syncopation. I am trying to fashion my style in the manner in which you play so and I was glad I found you to help me progress by learning through your videos and tabs.

    Besides waxpaper and a comb, could there be a more simpler instrument that sounds this good? Awesome picking and singing on this old tune.

    Man that is gorgeous playing. That is a banjo by Bob Thornburg right? I am hoping to get one of his soon

    Do you usually play Banjos with a resonator? I was wondering since you play claw hammer. (nice video btw)

    Does the gourd banjo require a lot of upkeep or can you just leave it around and pick it up whenever you feel like playing

      @ClawhammerBanjo  6 лет назад

      +petrovichluzhin Hardly any upkeep required. :)
