I’m using the iPhone 13 Pro Max but ima switch back to samsung and get the s22 ultra iPhones just get to boring overtime and also my connectivity is so horrible and iPhones are known for performance and if it can’t perform then I might as well get the Samsung which has everything and don’t get boring

I just went from 13 PM to 14 PM. It’s worth the upgrade in my opinion. The 5g speed is 3 times faster, LTE is faster, and my Wi-Fi is at least 2 as fast around the house. The display is better or sharper.
Gonna stick with my 13 Pro Max for now🙂 just got it earlier this year in February. The thinner bezels look cleaner not gonna lie, but the dynamic Island and everything else don’t seem like a major upgrade. The 13s are still really great, the regular 14 line still use the same chipset so don’t really need to upgrade if you are still using 13s.

I might be asking for too much but I would love to see a 12 pro max to 14 pro max head to head. Since holding on to phones is very common, year to year comparisons are not as beneficial for a large percent of users. Thank you for the amazing and regular content.

I upgraded from my iPhone XS Max to the 14 pro max and wow that was a pretty good upgrade. I think the biggest thing right out of the box I noticed was the 120 hz makes it look so very smooth, whereas on the xs max it’s just 60hz. But overall very satisfied with this upgrade, the battery life is insanely fantastic!
@@hasanika_media well I am not an extreme user as I do work full time. But when I am not at work or before or after work I am constantly on RUclips or other services. Me personally I can get two full days out of the 14 pro max! But also I am not off WiFi much either but I use this phone quite alot for a “regular person”. But compared to when I first used my 10s max, I used to finish my day with like 20-30% left. I always have gotten atleast two full days out of my 14 pro max so far! A lot of tech reviews say that isn’t incredible but if it last more than a whole 24 hours for me then it is amazing! So far I’ve gotten great battery like I said lasting two full days, but if you are using your phone more on cell service than on WiFi than the results will be much lower coverage from what I have experienced a couple days being out and about on data. Still very excellent to me!

I use the 13 Pro because it does what I want it to do fine enough. But if I could wish for a comparison video, I’d like to see one between the 11 Pro and the 14 Pro. I’d especially like to see, how the first triple camera evolved to the latest triple camera :)
I upgraded from the 12 pro max to the 14 pro max. This the first time I can go all day , even into the next before charging and I am a heavy user. So far I am very happy with the new iPhone. Thanks for all the useful information on your videos
I´ll stay with my 13 Pro Max a few years more .... the changes are small ... maybe next year if iPhone 15 has a really important changes in design and hardware
Coming from a 12PM to the 14PM there is a difference in upgrades, and day to day use. From the Battery, 120hz, 48MP, video recording, and all the little features like dynamic island and AOD, all while also having a smaller battery? That’s impressive! I’m pleaseD with the 14PM. No regrets.
My Mom just got the 14 pro Max. I previously ordered the the same phone, but after comparing her phone and mine I’m going to stick with the 13 pro max. I personally don’t think it’s work the upgrade, but the bright screen, speaker and camera on it are pretty great features. It’s way too similar to the 13 pro max for me to justify an upgrade
I hear you i would'nt with the 13. Have an 8 plus and looking to finally upgrade. $1000 for 13 pro max and $1099 for 14 pro max very similar. Was looking to get the 13 if it was $200-250 cheaper but only $100 I think I will just get the 14.
I would still recommend the 13 Pro/Pro Max to many people as in terms of performance, There isn't an extreme difference. The A15 Bionic for the Pro and Pro Max come in 2nd place while the A16 Bionic comes in 1st. Can't forget that the 13 Pro/Pro Max is only 1 year old so it still has many years of life left in it compared to older phones.

Waiting on my 14pm. I am going from my 12pm and look forward to the updates. If I had a 13pm, I would probably wait until next year. Upgraded camera on the 14pm is fire; rich hues and overall quality is outstanding! Once I get my 14pm, I’ll give you an update. Thanks again for the outstanding videos!
Thanks for pointing out the 14 pro max is a bit slimmer than the 13 pro max which I like a lot. In addition to the slimmer bezels, I also have noticed slight less battery life than my 13 due to the ADD. I’m going to continue with day to day use to see if I decide to turn ADD off but I honestly like the feature. And great review as always! 💯
The 14 Pro is a beauty, but I’m definitely sticking to my 13 Pro Max another year at least. The upgrades are just not substantial enough to merit the upgrade ( not to me).
I bought the iPhone 14 pro Max and then after a few days decided to return it. I’ve never had a phone longer than a year and this is a habit that needs changed. Plus, the upgrade isn’t worth it imo. Nothing exciting
Thanks Aaron for the review! Although my iphone 13 pro max's battery health is at 96%, your review convinced me to just stay in it and hold up until probably the iphone 15 ultra. I've seen battery tests where the results are mixed, but it seems that the iphone 13 pro max's batter still holds up a bit better than the iphone 14 pro max. I realised that the dynamic island may be more intrusive when watching videos and that it's not really that much reason to upgrade. I'm also just a regular user and not a photographer, so the 12MP camera is still good for me. I barely edit and just do point-and-shoot and then share in my IG or in my other socmed accounts. I'm hoping that ios16 will improve though!
While I don’t think the iPhone 14 is worth much for an upgrade, I chose to upgrade my 11 Pro max and wife’s 11 pro to 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro. I upgraded to have a refreshed feel from the 11 to 14’s plus, our batteries were showing significant decline especially my wife’s which needed a service replacement but instead, we upgraded. Apple needs to get it together, lack of USB-C and WI-FI 6e is seriously a hinder to future proofing the 14’s. Plus I feel the display could be a higher resolution.
I upgraded from my 12 pro max. I think the upgrade was worth it. The display smoothness and brightness is nice. Face ID works bothe vertically and horizontally.
@@Dangerkiller-D I recommend you watch some videos, where reviewers compare old iPhones to the new ones. In short, everything is better. Oled screen, 120hz refresh rate, thinner bezels, better sound, better cameras, better resolution and more.
Faster, better battery management, way better camera… that said, the 7 was an excellent performer and I held onto mine for a long time, too. But I think you’ll be quite happy when ever you decide to upgrade.
I just bought the 13 pro max. I almost went with the 14 pro max but found out they done away with physical sims. I needed more memory and coming from an 11pro. So far, I think I like the 13 pro max haha. I really do enjoy my 11pro. I was just struggling with room.

I traded me 12PM to 13PM, I’m sure it worth it more than the 14PM because all I need is Pro Motion and an amazing battery life and maybe better camera. I got 13PM 1TB Sierra blue and couldn’t be happier ❤️❤️

Aaron, If I didn't see a side by side comparison, it might be hard to notice most of the differences The Visual differences aren't dramatic although the 14 PM has slightly deeper and sharper images. The 14 PM had somewhat richer and detailed night photos. The stabilization videos were not too different on the boardwalk, but sharpness and colors were definitely better on the 14PM. Even if I could I would rather wait for iPhone 15. Thanks for a great video! Rik Spector
I'm not upgrading from the 13 Pro Max yet since they're quite similar and it's still pretty great, plus it has the physical SIM card. I go to Europe throughout the year and eSIM is barely those countries, so I wouldn't be able to use service in those countries with the 14 Pro Max. I like the dynamic island feature but I wish the position was higher so it doesn't cut into the video

I think the deciding factor for me to upgrade from my 13 pro max to a newer model is that I got the phone from verizon with a 36 month contract, so I won’t be upgrading for two more years. I’ll get to buy the 16 pro max by the time I pay off the phone. The same thing goes with my iPad Pro
I came from a 12 pro max, to 14 pro max. For me i upgrade every 2yrs and the battery always tanks on iPhones as you reach that point. So far the 14 battery hasn’t really impressed me, but the camera upgrade is decent. Like the 13 wasn’t worth the upgrade from the 12, the same is also here from the 13 to the 14 I’d say. But again, like me if you had a 12 or below 14 is worth it overall.
in my opinion you should make your videos in 20:9 and just make sure there is nothing in place of where the notch or dynamic island would be. It would look much cleaner than making it smaller to hide the dynamic island
I was initially going to upgrade from the 13PM to the 14PM (only wouldve cost me $200 to do so) but decided its not worth it. My reasons: * I hate how the Island cuts into 18:9 content. Also Dynamic island is cool but more towards a gimmick than an actual impressive innovation * Almost all of the bind camera tests, I found myself vastly preferring the 13PM photos over the 14PM. Interestingly, this video I preferred the 14PM photos. * Battery about the same or even worse * Ill probably be able to upgrade to the 15PM / 15 Ultra next year with periscope lens and new design for around $200 or $300
@Wayne F. iPhone X came out with a new design. lasted 3 generations (X/XS/11) before the squared off design iPhones with the iPhone 12 Now it’s been iPhone 12/13/14 with same design. Going by past data, signs point to a potential new design. Although i’m at a lack of ideas what it could be. the 13/14 Pro Max are really good
Saw a huge change in quality in video vs the 12 pro max to the 13 pro max. Don’t really see a huge upgrade other than the cinematic front. But I love the little island display. Battery life feels the same. Both great phones. Selling my 13 pro max to make the upgrade worth it
How many of you would pay $400 for a software update that adds dynamic island animations to the notch and always on display? If you wouldn’t pay for that update then the 14PM isn’t worth it. It is literally the 13 or max with 2 extra software features . If you’re on 12 or older than sure it’s worth it
Just got the 13 Pro Max new. I appreciate the video comparison. Happy with my choice, although there's no knocking the 14. It looks great as well. I think the satellite connectivity sounds like a feature that will probably be rapidly expanded in versions to come. The Starlink network may one day be the main "carrier" of phone service.
Aaron, that island obstructing videos is actually the deal breaker for me! Ty so much for all your useful videos! I suspect different people would prefer 13 pro vs 14 pro. For example, if people’s main video consumption is on phone (like me) then 13! If u want brighter screen 14. If u want best camera 14! I’m a novice photographer, but I don’t watch tv, I use phone for watching vids and that island obstructing is a HUGE deal. And the only way they can fix it is making vid smaller (unacceptable). I’m VERY surprised apple made decision to obstruct content even MORE than the previous notch!
I upgrade just for the camera but regretting it because the battery is horrible. When I work from home on zoom meetings my battery is at around 30% at the end of the work day. With my 13 pro max I would be at 55% at the end of a work day.
So... you lost 20% battery life in a specific scenario while you're working from home, AKA you can literally charge it at any given moment... and that warrants calling the battery life "horrible"? My guy, I've read some exaggerations in the past but this is just like next level. You virtually have 0 issues, you upgraded out of comfort and now because not everything is all rose gold, you feel like it's a bad thing? Nah man.
Absolutely love my 13 pro max and would love to upgrade to the 14 pro max as the camera are so good. The 13 pro max has made me take up mobile photography as a hobby, but I think I’ll hold off to hear more about any issues with the 14 pro max. But if I had unlimited money I would probably upgrade now. However with how poorly the economy has bee and the rising cost of nearly everything to get by out ways getting the upgrade right now.
It is really strange that anyone would get confused with the always on display. I don’t have an iPhone for 14 Pro Max yet, but I would not get confused because the widgets for the lock screen are the only things displayed so I don’t feel that anyone should get confused.
I upgraded from a 12 pro to 14 pro max. To me camera is better, the 14 definitely has better thermal control than my 12, that thing used to get hit while using it and doing the same tasks in the 14 pro max it doesn’t. I thought the 120hz display was really not worth it but after using for a few days I will say I won’t go less than 120hz after experiencing 120hz. Overall better life seems much better, I can end a day with 55-65 percent vs my 12 pro which would be at like 30. Plus I like the dynamic island and feel like it will be better as more apps update to do cool things with it and have the 14 looking pretty updated for the next few years

Great comparison as always. After all the leaks and rumors I was hoping that the 'pill-cut out' notch would be better than the old notch. I was wrong and am disappointed. The old notch is way better and less intrusive in your viewing experience.
I just upgraded from a 12 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max. One difference I noticed is when I’m using my Beats Powerbeats Pro or Beats Solo Pro headphones music sounds better on the 14 Pro Max than it did on the 12. I’m guessing it is that the Bluetooth is better. Connecting to my headphones is also faster and more reliable. Aaron, I noticed the Dynamic Island cutting into your videos. It doesn’t bother me at all and I’d rather you keep using the higher definition video.
I would still get the 13 promax, the 14 promax is a niche upgrade over the 13 Pro Max.. Not to mention the 13 promax still rains supreme. when it comes to battery life.
After watching this... I can see there's absolutely no point going from 13 to 14. The newest version has, sadly, too little to offer to a holder of the 13th version for them to shell out. Only today have I finally switched to iPhone 13 Pro Max from iPhone 8 Plus. Found a great bargain on Amazon, which is what actually made me switch. So, I've had iPhone 8 Plus since 2017 and have not had the feeling I had to upgrade for all this time... And I've been using this phone day in day out.
I´m so glad that I got the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Apple Watch 7 last year (upgrading from iPhone 11). "Dynamic Island" is one of the reasons why. Why on earth, for example, would I even want to touch the upper rim of a 6,69'' display? This seems so awkward. And I don´t need no fancy animations - heck, I even scarcely use widgets on my phone. So I have no problem with skipping the 14 generation and waiting for Apple to come out with something really useful.
I’m using a 13 pro max and just look at the photo comparison alone let’s me know that the upgrade is not worth it. The only thing I were impressed with was the sound quality
Had both and got the 14pm to replace my mint 13pm which i sold on ebay for a good price. Pros: Not huge differences but macro and night modes are slightly better. Action mode is good addition but some people wont use that. 48mp is good but only in proraw and 1x. Outdoor brightness is really good and improved. Neutral: dynamic island is a pro for me but not crazy necessary. It will get better with time. AOD depending on person. Love the deep purple better than sierra blue and always go case less. Cons: battery life is not close to 13pm and on my testing about 10% less without aod on. I have used my phone a lot and with 10 hours sot still have 20% left so in my use case it still is nice not having to worry about battery life.
Yeah I am not impressed with the battery life. They did decrease the battery size this year unfortunately, but I'm hoping with IOS stabilization the battery life will increase
I will keep my Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro Max for one more year. It’s awesome and I don’t have any issues. I will change my phone only when USB-C is finally present on iPhones 📱 🥰
Using the 14 pro max, I upgraded from the 13 pro max. Got $1000 for the trade in. The dynamic island is ok, probably would be better when it is usable with more apps.
have u seen any much of difference between the cameras, from some reviews I can see that 13 pro max has brighter images because of the bigger sensor 1,5 is that right ?
@@samdigan87 You have that backwards. The 14 had a larger sensor and a better camera. It interpolates pixels using its 48MP sensor to a 12MP picture, which is the same resolution as the 13PM. The screen is significantly brighter at 2000 nits.
@@flamingkillermc2806 Ah, gotcha. The iPhone 13 is 1000 normally, with 1200 on HDR content. It looks like the 14 is the same in this regard, but as you said - gets brighter outdoors up to 2000. Thanks for clarifying.
I upgraded from an iPhone 11 128GB to the iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB. I definitely think it’s worth it coming from an older iPhone. I personally keep my phones for years so I wouldn’t be upgrading from this for awhile.
Great comparison video...got the 13 pro max couple of months ago as I couldn't wait longer for the 14 pro max since my 8 plus battery was in its terminal stages & the device in general warranted an upgrade...the new phone behaved a like a cool device for my usage especially battery life...however sadly 2 weeks prior just after the iOS 16 update it died completely...no force reset or connecting via iTunes detected the device...had to drop it at an apple service center here in India...they said its a logic board issue...waiting to get my device back. P.S.: have used 4S, 6S plus, 8Plus but never ever had any hardware issues before...😪
that’s exactly what happened to my 11 pro max except i ran out of storage in 6 months and apple pushed an update through when i restarted it. it hard reset and i lost everything
I hope this narrowing of the display does not become a trend on the big iPhone, the big wide flat screen was one of the reasons I left android devices a couple of years ago and bought a pro max in the first place, if you have hands and fingers on the large side narrow phones are a major pain. Edit: if apple goes down the path of tall narrow devices I’ll just have to buy a foldable .

I upgraded from the 12 pro max to the 14 pro max. This the first time I can go all day , even into the next before charging and I am a heavy user. So far I am very happy with the new iPhone. Thanks for all the useful information on your videos
I´ll stay with my 13 Pro Max a few years more .... the changes are small ... maybe next year if iPhone 15 has a really important changes in design and hardware

Coming from a 12PM to the 14PM there is a difference in upgrades, and day to day use. From the Battery, 120hz, 48MP, video recording, and all the little features like dynamic island and AOD, all while also having a smaller battery? That’s impressive! I’m pleaseD with the 14PM. No regrets.

My Mom just got the 14 pro Max. I previously ordered the the same phone, but after comparing her phone and mine I’m going to stick with the 13 pro max. I personally don’t think it’s work the upgrade, but the bright screen, speaker and camera on it are pretty great features. It’s way too similar to the 13 pro max for me to justify an upgrade
I hear you i would'nt with the 13. Have an 8 plus and looking to finally upgrade. $1000 for 13 pro max and $1099 for 14 pro max very similar. Was looking to get the 13 if it was $200-250 cheaper but only $100 I think I will just get the 14.
I would still recommend the 13 Pro/Pro Max to many people as in terms of performance, There isn't an extreme difference. The A15 Bionic for the Pro and Pro Max come in 2nd place while the A16 Bionic comes in 1st. Can't forget that the 13 Pro/Pro Max is only 1 year old so it still has many years of life left in it compared to older phones.
iPhone 13 Pro Max is the better phone:
- Better Battery Life
- Notch out of the way
- Nicer Colors
- Cheaper
- Has a Sim-Card slot
- Smaller Camera Bump

Thanks for pointing out the 14 pro max is a bit slimmer than the 13 pro max which I like a lot. In addition to the slimmer bezels, I also have noticed slight less battery life than my 13 due to the ADD. I’m going to continue with day to day use to see if I decide to turn ADD off but I honestly like the feature. And great review as always! 💯

The 14 Pro is a beauty, but I’m definitely sticking to my 13 Pro Max another year at least. The upgrades are just not substantial enough to merit the upgrade ( not to me).
I’m using 13 pro max and I don’t think it’s worth to upgrade 14 pro max. I am totally satisfied with my phone.
I bought the iPhone 14 pro Max and then after a few days decided to return it. I’ve never had a phone longer than a year and this is a habit that needs changed. Plus, the upgrade isn’t worth it imo. Nothing exciting
Same, I have 5 lines so I get the upgrades every 5/6 months and my kids get the hand me downs. I get bored with phones once the novelty wears off.
Thanks Aaron for the review! Although my iphone 13 pro max's battery health is at 96%, your review convinced me to just stay in it and hold up until probably the iphone 15 ultra. I've seen battery tests where the results are mixed, but it seems that the iphone 13 pro max's batter still holds up a bit better than the iphone 14 pro max. I realised that the dynamic island may be more intrusive when watching videos and that it's not really that much reason to upgrade. I'm also just a regular user and not a photographer, so the 12MP camera is still good for me. I barely edit and just do point-and-shoot and then share in my IG or in my other socmed accounts. I'm hoping that ios16 will improve though!
While I don’t think the iPhone 14 is worth much for an upgrade, I chose to upgrade my 11 Pro max and wife’s 11 pro to 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro. I upgraded to have a refreshed feel from the 11 to 14’s plus, our batteries were showing significant decline especially my wife’s which needed a service replacement but instead, we upgraded.
Apple needs to get it together, lack of USB-C and WI-FI 6e is seriously a hinder to future proofing the 14’s. Plus I feel the display could be a higher resolution.
I upgraded from my 12 pro max. I think the upgrade was worth it. The display smoothness and brightness is nice. Face ID works bothe vertically and horizontally.
Would love to see a comparison to the 12 Pro Max. A lot of people upgrade every 2-3 years instead of every year

@@Dangerkiller-D I recommend you watch some videos, where reviewers compare old iPhones to the new ones. In short, everything is better. Oled screen, 120hz refresh rate, thinner bezels, better sound, better cameras, better resolution and more.
Faster, better battery management, way better camera… that said, the 7 was an excellent performer and I held onto mine for a long time, too. But I think you’ll be quite happy when ever you decide to upgrade.

I just bought the 13 pro max. I almost went with the 14 pro max but found out they done away with physical sims. I needed more memory and coming from an 11pro. So far, I think I like the 13 pro max haha. I really do enjoy my 11pro. I was just struggling with room.

If I didn't see a side by side comparison, it might be hard to notice most of the differences
The Visual differences aren't dramatic although the 14 PM has slightly deeper and sharper images.
The 14 PM had somewhat richer and detailed night photos.
The stabilization videos were not too different on the boardwalk, but sharpness and colors were definitely better on the 14PM.
Even if I could I would rather wait for iPhone 15.

I'm not upgrading from the 13 Pro Max yet since they're quite similar and it's still pretty great, plus it has the physical SIM card. I go to Europe throughout the year and eSIM is barely those countries, so I wouldn't be able to use service in those countries with the 14 Pro Max. I like the dynamic island feature but I wish the position was higher so it doesn't cut into the video

my sister helped me pre-ordered an iPhone 13 Pro Max in Australia. The shop having sales on iPhone 13 Pro Max 512gb and 1TB around AUD 1500 to 1700 after tax refund.
I think the deciding factor for me to upgrade from my 13 pro max to a newer model is that I got the phone from verizon with a 36 month contract, so I won’t be upgrading for two more years. I’ll get to buy the 16 pro max by the time I pay off the phone. The same thing goes with my iPad Pro

I came from a 12 pro max, to 14 pro max. For me i upgrade every 2yrs and the battery always tanks on iPhones as you reach that point. So far the 14 battery hasn’t really impressed me, but the camera upgrade is decent. Like the 13 wasn’t worth the upgrade from the 12, the same is also here from the 13 to the 14 I’d say. But again, like me if you had a 12 or below 14 is worth it overall.

in my opinion you should make your videos in 20:9 and just make sure there is nothing in place of where the notch or dynamic island would be. It would look much cleaner than making it smaller to hide the dynamic island
Got my 13 pro max 1TB last year and won’t be upgrading till the 15 next year at the earliest, probably the 16 though.
I was initially going to upgrade from the 13PM to the 14PM (only wouldve cost me $200 to do so) but decided its not worth it.
My reasons:
* I hate how the Island cuts into 18:9 content. Also Dynamic island is cool but more towards a gimmick than an actual impressive innovation
* Almost all of the bind camera tests, I found myself vastly preferring the 13PM photos over the 14PM. Interestingly, this video I preferred the 14PM photos.
* Battery about the same or even worse
* Ill probably be able to upgrade to the 15PM / 15 Ultra next year with periscope lens and new design for around $200 or $300

How many of you would pay $400 for a software update that adds dynamic island animations to the notch and always on display? If you wouldn’t pay for that update then the 14PM isn’t worth it. It is literally the 13 or max with 2 extra software features . If you’re on 12 or older than sure it’s worth it
Just got the 13 Pro Max new. I appreciate the video comparison. Happy with my choice, although there's no knocking the 14. It looks great as well. I think the satellite connectivity sounds like a feature that will probably be rapidly expanded in versions to come. The Starlink network may one day be the main "carrier" of phone service.

Aaron, that island obstructing videos is actually the deal breaker for me! Ty so much for all your useful videos! I suspect different people would prefer 13 pro vs 14 pro. For example, if people’s main video consumption is on phone (like me) then 13! If u want brighter screen 14. If u want best camera 14! I’m a novice photographer, but I don’t watch tv, I use phone for watching vids and that island obstructing is a HUGE deal. And the only way they can fix it is making vid smaller (unacceptable). I’m VERY surprised apple made decision to obstruct content even MORE than the previous notch!

I upgrade just for the camera but regretting it because the battery is horrible. When I work from home on zoom meetings my battery is at around 30% at the end of the work day. With my 13 pro max I would be at 55% at the end of a work day.
So... you lost 20% battery life in a specific scenario while you're working from home, AKA you can literally charge it at any given moment... and that warrants calling the battery life "horrible"? My guy, I've read some exaggerations in the past but this is just like next level. You virtually have 0 issues, you upgraded out of comfort and now because not everything is all rose gold, you feel like it's a bad thing? Nah man.

Absolutely love my 13 pro max and would love to upgrade to the 14 pro max as the camera are so good. The 13 pro max has made me take up mobile photography as a hobby, but I think I’ll hold off to hear more about any issues with the 14 pro max. But if I had unlimited money I would probably upgrade now. However with how poorly the economy has bee and the rising cost of nearly everything to get by out ways getting the upgrade right now.
I upgrade every year and buy outright. Always get a good portion of your money back when you sell the old one. Love the island

It is really strange that anyone would get confused with the always on display. I don’t have an iPhone for 14 Pro Max yet, but I would not get confused because the widgets for the lock screen are the only things displayed so I don’t feel that anyone should get confused.

I upgraded from a 12 pro to 14 pro max. To me camera is better, the 14 definitely has better thermal control than my 12, that thing used to get hit while using it and doing the same tasks in the 14 pro max it doesn’t. I thought the 120hz display was really not worth it but after using for a few days I will say I won’t go less than 120hz after experiencing 120hz. Overall better life seems much better, I can end a day with 55-65 percent vs my 12 pro which would be at like 30. Plus I like the dynamic island and feel like it will be better as more apps update to do cool things with it and have the 14 looking pretty updated for the next few years

Great comparison as always. After all the leaks and rumors I was hoping that the 'pill-cut out' notch would be better than the old notch. I was wrong and am disappointed. The old notch is way better and less intrusive in your viewing experience.
I just upgraded from a 12 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max. One difference I noticed is when I’m using my Beats Powerbeats Pro or Beats Solo Pro headphones music sounds better on the 14 Pro Max than it did on the 12. I’m guessing it is that the Bluetooth is better. Connecting to my headphones is also faster and more reliable.
Aaron, I noticed the Dynamic Island cutting into your videos. It doesn’t bother me at all and I’d rather you keep using the higher definition video.
I would still get the 13 promax, the 14 promax is a niche upgrade over the 13 Pro Max.. Not to mention the 13 promax still rains supreme. when it comes to battery life.

After watching this... I can see there's absolutely no point going from 13 to 14. The newest version has, sadly, too little to offer to a holder of the 13th version for them to shell out. Only today have I finally switched to iPhone 13 Pro Max from iPhone 8 Plus. Found a great bargain on Amazon, which is what actually made me switch. So, I've had iPhone 8 Plus since 2017 and have not had the feeling I had to upgrade for all this time... And I've been using this phone day in day out.
I´m so glad that I got the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Apple Watch 7 last year (upgrading from iPhone 11). "Dynamic Island" is one of the reasons why. Why on earth, for example, would I even want to touch the upper rim of a 6,69'' display? This seems so awkward. And I don´t need no fancy animations - heck, I even scarcely use widgets on my phone. So I have no problem with skipping the 14 generation and waiting for Apple to come out with something really useful.
I’m using a 13 pro max and just look at the photo comparison alone let’s me know that the upgrade is not worth it. The only thing I were impressed with was the sound quality
Had both and got the 14pm to replace my mint 13pm which i sold on ebay for a good price.
Pros: Not huge differences but macro and night modes are slightly better. Action mode is good addition but some people wont use that. 48mp is good but only in proraw and 1x. Outdoor brightness is really good and improved.
Neutral: dynamic island is a pro for me but not crazy necessary. It will get better with time. AOD depending on person. Love the deep purple better than sierra blue and always go case less.
Cons: battery life is not close to 13pm and on my testing about 10% less without aod on. I have used my phone a lot and with 10 hours sot still have 20% left so in my use case it still is nice not having to worry about battery life.
Yeah I am not impressed with the battery life. They did decrease the battery size this year unfortunately, but I'm hoping with IOS stabilization the battery life will increase
Battery life is an iOS 16 issue. It was terrible on the 13 pro max and 14 pro max. Apple just needs to address it with software update.

Using the 14 pro max, I upgraded from the 13 pro max. Got $1000 for the trade in. The dynamic island is ok, probably would be better when it is usable with more apps.

@@samdigan87 You have that backwards. The 14 had a larger sensor and a better camera. It interpolates pixels using its 48MP sensor to a 12MP picture, which is the same resolution as the 13PM. The screen is significantly brighter at 2000 nits.

I came from 11 pro to 13 pro max, apart from bigger screen hardly noticed any difference. Cameras virtually the same in the day 🤷🏻♂️

I upgraded from an iPhone 11 128GB to the iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB. I definitely think it’s worth it coming from an older iPhone. I personally keep my phones for years so I wouldn’t be upgrading from this for awhile.

Great comparison video...got the 13 pro max couple of months ago as I couldn't wait longer for the 14 pro max since my 8 plus battery was in its terminal stages & the device in general warranted an upgrade...the new phone behaved a like a cool device for my usage especially battery life...however sadly 2 weeks prior just after the iOS 16 update it died completely...no force reset or connecting via iTunes detected the device...had to drop it at an apple service center here in India...they said its a logic board issue...waiting to get my device back.
P.S.: have used 4S, 6S plus, 8Plus but never ever had any hardware issues before...😪
that’s exactly what happened to my 11 pro max except i ran out of storage in 6 months and apple pushed an update through when i restarted it. it hard reset and i lost everything

I hope this narrowing of the display does not become a trend on the big iPhone, the big wide flat screen was one of the reasons I left android devices a couple of years ago and bought a pro max in the first place, if you have hands and fingers on the large side narrow phones are a major pain.
Edit: if apple goes down the path of tall narrow devices I’ll just have to buy a foldable .
