I got this cologne yesterday at Sephora and when I smelled it I automatically wanted it, it’s something that I would deff get since I have bought from the of house YSL before... And even at home before going out both my roommates asked me what I was wearing and they both gave me complements. After I went to a nightclub and all my friends that I greeted also gave me good complements and mind you I’m around smokers etc and this cologne still got noticed by both men and women. The next morning I put my jacket away in the closet and I can still smell the cologne even after a long night of partying so I don’t understand why people are saying that it doesn’t last... Yeah I mean it’s nothing special compared to some of the others out right, but nonetheless it’s a great cologne and the people around me really enjoyed it. I felt good and I smelled good and it got the job done! So it’s a win for me.
Personally own and love this fragrance (YSL Y) and I typically don't enjoy fresh fragrances because they're too sharp. This is smoother/warmer than most fresh scents while still being citrus-y and not too flat. I hate Sauvage, Bleu De Chanel, AHSEE, etc... This is a perfectly balanced fresh scent IMO, along with Green Irish Tweed and Invictus :)
I smelled the EDP the other day, I have to say coming from a women. I kept coming back to smell it and ended up buying it for for my husband. Now we will see if he likes it????

Safe isn't always bad. Fragrences like this can make great "signature scents" that can be worn on almost any occasion without offending anyone. For someone without much money who can only afford one or two scents, something like this may work for them. Yes, there are more creative and unique fragrances out there for the price, but I think stuff like this has its place.
I dunno why this frag gets hate. I actually like it. Out of the freshies that have released over the past year it's my favorite. I think it's a great casual frag when you just want that fresh clean without TOO synthetic. And ayy I see that breitling. I want that super avenger gmt 2. Just got myself a custom panerai though.
The main reason its bashed because YSL is like the OG of fragrances, and some people expect some different, unique, but amazing scent. I bought this one, and I was like " oh it smells nice" i was not blown away. Either way it's a great fragrence just not a groundbreaking one

Carlos Seijo I believe that with this fragrance body chemistry comes into play heavily,for example bleu de chanel edt does not last on me what so ever but the parfum last all day same thing with Y I found its longevity to be pretty impressive but then again that's just me
I bought this one recently. I love it being "safe" for days when you want to smell good but not catching much attention to the way you smell. Also what I've found is that it is good to mix with other fragrances to make them smoother, not so much in your face. For example, JPG Le MALE + Y EDT makes it interesting but not as aggressive as Le MALE alone. So my advice is to try to use it as a base for other fragrances which you find having too much character. You'll get smoother but richer, fuller and denser smell. Try it!
That fragrance smells A M A Z I N G. I wear it out to dinner all the time and i get ALOT of compliments. That Apple, Sage,and Veitver is the magic smell for attraction. (Of course having a good personality, connection, and a unique sense of a humor) is something you have to already have. And wearing a decent set of clothes. Fragrance is an art to me and i love getting people to try new scents and feel new highs...i also suggest Hugo Boss Sport (White Clear Bottle) , Bleu de Chanel, Perry Ellis Pour Homme, and of course the "Y" from YSL...Oh yea White Suede from Tom Ford is really really good too. Its like your too clean lol.

Just bought this fragrance. It opens fresh and sharp wich surprises me. Then it settles down to a nice fragrance in the background, were you can still smell yourself. This is something i wear for myself and brings me in a good mood. Not every scent has to be a 10 and pleases women only. . In its category and the purpose it is designed for it the rating might be different. Compare oranges with oranges. There’s no point comparing an office scent with a clubbing scent. Dior Sauvage and Y EDT are different beasts completely. Not all scents have the purpose of turning heads or dropping panties. This fragrance is for the boardroom meetings or for the office where you want to augment your presence as a sharp, professional man who is confident but comfortable not to overstate himself. Y EDT should be compared to fragrances like Prada L’Homme. That’s the segment of the market it is competing in.

I smelled it a few times now cause I got that as sample two times. I really like that scent, even if it's not that special. I have to agree, that YSL - Y is not that kind of perfume, which you will identify blindly as Y, cuz it smells just like a fresh / clean / powdery perfume that allready exist. But to me, it's a good option as Work fragrance ( not office, just other work ) to smell very hygienic.
YSL Y EDP is basically a nicer muskier version on Versace Dylan blue and a less sweet version of bleu de Chanel. It’s not overly unique but is far less common than sauvage etc...
Nice review man. I felt the same way about this. The sweetness almost gives it some personality, but it just doesn't last. My first impression was a watered-down Invictus. Like they stole a batch of Invictus from PR's laboratory and dumped a couple gallons of purified water into it, while laughing menacingly. 😝
Yeah honestly idk about that " not lasting forever" Because mine lasts for easily 6 hours. I recently bought Wanted by Azzaro, and that is one that only last me for about 3-4 hours. Not really bummed because of the price, but I guess every batch is different?

tried it 2 weeks ago, i was surprised as on my skin it smelled like a stronger version of versace pour homme.

eau de parfum is their best. the scent reminds me or original polo blue but it lasts longer.

Smells clean and rich, very nice scent. I would say much better than L’Homme. Reminds me a little bit of Bond no. 9 Coney Island.
YSL Y EDP is basically a nicer muskier version on Versace Dylan blue and a less sweet version of bleu de Chanel. It’s not overly unique but is far less common than sauvage etc...

Nice review man. I felt the same way about this. The sweetness almost gives it some personality, but it just doesn't last. My first impression was a watered-down Invictus. Like they stole a batch of Invictus from PR's laboratory and dumped a couple gallons of purified water into it, while laughing menacingly. 😝
This cologne last forever I swear to god I sprayed it like 7 hours ago and still smell like it it’s just not as strong
Yeah honestly idk about that " not lasting forever" Because mine lasts for easily 6 hours. I recently bought Wanted by Azzaro, and that is one that only last me for about 3-4 hours. Not really bummed because of the price, but I guess every batch is different?
