- Travel with the train driver as we journey from Port Augusta to Saltia on this first part of the journey along the Pichi Richi Railway in the state of South Australia on a W class steam locomotive. Marvel at the scenery as we climb through the rugged Flinders ranges. September 2023.

All Aboard. All Aboard. Enjoy the ride.
👍😀
Thanks.
I do like the contrasts in this line, traveling from the coast, past lakes and through the flats, before climbing up to the western end of the pass.
@@martythemartian99 there are some beautiful scenes along the line. Interesting colours in the rocks. 👍😀
I was on this train very same, got to meet the camera, very familiar face and friendly dude.
Met a number of people that day, all nice people enjoying a great day out. Very happy you enjoyed it 👍 😊

G'day, South Australia has been a favourite destination for holidays and being a Train Nut l have visited most of the network, the narrow gauge and the standard sometimes running side by side and the difference engines and that landscape make it special, thanks for the video the rest of the trip I'm looking forward too, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
It's very nice running up through the Flinders Ranges on this railway. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
Thanks for sharing. September 2016 my wife and I travelled on the 1927(?) rail motor from Pt Augusta to Quorn. This was the original route from Pt Augusta to Alice Springs.

Well, you can't have the Saltia without the Pepperia-a-a-aaaaaaachooooooooooo! LOL

Would there be any chance of filming the return journey from Quorn to Port Augusta as well, just to make it complete?
Yes, that will be coming up in the future. 👍😀

Was that Bird lake the line went through? It's really rugged country on this route......
Yes, that's bird lake. It is rugged country out there 👍😊
@@driver667 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I travelled on this railway when I was 2 months old in January 2013, I hated opening the windows because the wind would come through
That's a good thing of the older trains, being able to open the windows but could be scary for a little one 🤔👍😊
I even went on a steam train in March last year and Dad told me to bring my phone in because the wind was too strong
@@tomhenry6440 it could blow it out of your hand. Don't want to loose it. 👍😀
Would we going to Broken Hill?
No, this line ran through to Alice Springs before being closed with the section to Quorn becoming the tourist railway. 👍😊
You will never be able to get your Vlocity to make such beautiful sounds. 😈🏳🌈
🤣🤣 You may be right 🤔👍😀
