- one of the fiercest women to emerge in the pop industry. Sinead O Connor was ahead of her time and unwavering. She paid the ultimate price for her efforts, the most successful point of her career. But her hard work has not gone unnoticed.
Must hear Sinead O Connor songs: Nothing Compares 2 U, Mandika, Troy, Jerusalem, Black Boys On Mopeds, Jump In The River, Fire On Babylon.
Her first 2 records are also a must hear.

the amount of men who went on about wanting to physically assault her over ripping up a photo…… pop culture has come a long way.
Gotta respect her sacrificing her career and the bag to speak her truth. Its sad that her life was so messed up after that.
She earned it. It was the 90's, any nail that stood up got pounded down.
Imagine Madonna telling someone to respect religious symbols because they are important to people
💀💀💀
Her mom was literally evil. No child deserves that treatment and abuse.
I do feel bad for Sinead... She's a great singer & a true activist... I hope she & her son are in peace...
She got cancelled for speaking the truth. Kris kristofferson who recently passed away, defended her
I hope this doesn’t happen to chappel roan
@@zackzzz3513was just thinking of this, it’s so upsetting
@@zackzzz3513 I was just thinking about this.. it’s very upsetting and I hope the best
@@zackzzz3513 Chappell is hated for being annoying, not for speaking the truth

Crazy how she was viewed as the bad guy for calling out child abusers
You gave her biography absolute justice. She is an incredible soul. wow
She was so ahead of her time
kris kristofferson who recently passed away were one of the few musicians who openly supported and comforted her on stage when she was booed after the photo ripping incident
And she ended up embracing a wicked religion that causes mayhem everywhere.
She didn't just rip anyone's photo up. She ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II on SNL because he didn't do anything to help victims of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.
What a lovely soul
What a lovely soul
I teared up when I saw that clip in Nobody Compares. 😢 what Sinead went through was awful
Religious people feel to comfortable accusing minorities of being abusers, but an extremely large num er of abuses are commited by religious people.
May she rest in peace she was a wonderful example on how to be yourself in the midst of trauma, immense pain, and intense ridicule. I hope her and her son are in harmony wherever they are
There is no one like you Sinead. We miss you terribly.💔🍀🌈
She was a legend and a hero
She got ended fir calling out shady people basically
The fact that I can hear @honest welling up in the outro, makes me appreciate her struggles more. Not that I ever partake in bashing someones mental health struggles. Their experience was very unique and harrowing and I'm glad/sad that she was able to share it with us. R.I.P Sinead
I really liked her. I saw she could still perform but was banned in certain countries that leaned into Catholicism. Same with The Cranberries and The Dixie Chicks. They were silenced for speaking their minds. RIP Sinead
Such a fierce woman. Rest in piece, Sinead O'Connor
This has happend to so many good artists. The industry will destroy you just a matter of time, unless you can see past it and leave
This is a deep cut for this channel. Love his devotion to telling the truth. Please, please make a foray into journalism. #bestteachannel
She was 100% unapologetically herself..gifted artist with the balls the size of texas!!!❤❤❤
Irish women are strong and fearless. They are not afraid to speak the truth even if the public hates them for it. We Love you forever Sinead, and I know you are singing in heaven with your son!
Thank you for this! She was a misunderstood childhood traumatized beautiful soul! Her collaborations with one of my favorite artist John Grant are superb! GMF is one of my favorite songs ever
I love how poignant and sentimental the delivery of this essay. It really gives tribute to what she fought for and her struggles. Although I knew some of these; my uncle is a music nerd, you really made the info more heartfelt to what she went through. Although a short video, it gave a lot of details.
Yay a longer video! I like this conversation, it is super interesting to go back and rewatch all these events from a contemporary perspective.
This was a beautifully stunning and raw tribute video honoring her ❤
R.I.P.🥀
I heard about Sinead when she passed however I listened to Nothing Compares To You a couple of times. After watching this video & knowing her impact. I think she deserves alot more recognition & i will go listen to more of her songs after watching this video. I think it's cool she became the first woman to a grammy for best video. Sidenote I really wish she did a song w/ George Michael because both of them are great songwriters. I love the moment when Sinead through her panties on stage during George Michael's performance. I thought that was funny
She ended up being vindicated
She was also a vocal supporter of Palestine and also converted Islam and changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat
she was the first victim of hate train and cancel culture…but she was right all along.
1:46 I feel for this person, I don’t know this person but I feel for her. Why have children if you don’t like them.
Her career didn't necessarily "flop" but more like if you didn't care for her music then it "flopped". It just stopped being very commercial after a while. But for the most part. Sinead was a fighter until the end.
This woman is an icon who was not afraid to speak her truth and she inspired many people with it but public brutally misunderstood her for being very open about such important and sensitive topics
Sinéad was a very unique and complex artist and woman, and I say that as a compliment. There will never be anyone like her again. I've always been a bit annoyed that people recognize her only for the Prince cover, when she did much more than that, and went from alternative rock to irish folk and reggae. She had real punk blood. She was the start of the second generation of female singer songwritters that came in the 90s. She was such an inspiration even for a man like me, as I shaved my head off when I was 15 inspired by her, and still bear it like that. I will never forget her.
If you come across this comment.. please go and watch Sinead O'Connor's rendition of "Oh Danny boy" she sang it live and that's how I got to know her.
It soo deep
The craziest thing is that she's praised after the church scandal and was hated before. She knew, but the world was not ready to hear it. SMH 😮😮😮😮😮😮. RIP Sinead
I don't know much of Sinead's music but I do admire her for standing up for what she believed in, despite being ridiculed. She seems so fragile yet so strong. I'm gonna read her book.
She is truly an inspiration 💗
Do yourselves a favour and listen to "Haunted" by Shane MacGowan and Sinead. The contrast between his guttural, gravelly voice and her ethereal voice just works perfectly.
You may not see it this way. But this was a step in vindication and an honor to her. Which she rightfully deserve. Thanks for your bravery!
Hope she found peace
Sinead was right.
sinead was an activist. this world didn’t deserve her. 💔
I'm so early, there are no comments 🙂
10:04 evidence that shows where Madonna is coming from. She’s not a genius.
14:32 F yes ❤❤🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for this video, it’s so important to let the children know who this icon is
Sinead was a warrior poet. I’m really sad that I never understood her power until after she passed. I feel like a lot of 90s kids who grew up in the Catholic church were conditioned to judge her for speaking the truth. I’m glad she’s been getting her flowers and people are seeing how right she was. I wish it happened more while she was alive 😢
I got motivated to check out a bit of her music after Prince passed. I binge listened to her music this year when I saw Mia Magik dedicated a part of Intuwitchin to her. The local Rasta community also did a tribute to her since she was very involved. May she and her son rest in peace and may more of us recognize the wisdom she had ❤
We are in need of artists like her in today's music
Sinead was a real one
12.50 my opinion is the pendulum swings both ways. If you don’t want to be criticized for “not being sexy” then don’t criticize people for “being too sexy”. Both are patrolling of visual women’s self expression .
This video make me like her even more
I didn't know about Miley's tweet. Wow. 12:55 That's incredibly mean. Regardless of who made the first shot, it's just flat out disrespect. Miley's empty.
What she said was disrespectful but I understand her response because she herself dealt with media scrutiny from everyone (including Amanda Bynes) but I’m pretty sure she regret it now but I hope Sinéad O’ Connor find peace and get more recognition over the years.
Why can‘t miley see herself in the wrong? Not only can‘t she receive constructive criticsm from Sinead O‘Conner but also bullied a Person who had a different opinion on miley‘s approach of getting away from her Disney Image. These american celebrities are so weird Jesus Christ
Maybe she cannot do it in public without scrutiny and it’s partly because her past is complicated AF (also her fam is messy, just not as intensely screwed up as Britney Spears’ family), so she has to distance from the worst parts of it, even without denial.
R.I.P Sinead O'Connor.
John Paul ll was a monster and it's still mind-blowing some people consider him a saint.
Not just considered - he was officially made a saint in the church. Finding out about how much abuse was disguised made me sick. What made me angrier was how much victim blaming was occurring against survivors
she was real. The industry does not thrive on real.
She was right, she didn’t fucked up her career she actually made a worthy one bcuz we still talk about her in our contemporary times
Sinead was THE blueprint for rebels, punks, and DGAF attitude. RIP Angel 🙏
A literal badass
Thank you for this
She deserved better
honest is such a journalist ❤
A true tortured artist. She was so unapologetic about her beliefs and she stood in her truth. May her soul find peace. ❤
The world did not deserve Sinead.
Honest beautiful video thxs babes 🤍
Nah man shawty stood in business, si sad how her life was, this woman deserves better rest in paradise queen...
People still harrss people who perform at gigs 😔
I can’t believe we live in a world where one woman telling a incredibly young woman, whom might I add, was barely an adult at the time, that her antics in that music video was a way for the music industry to take advantage of her.
She was ahead of her time
May god bless her soul
She also was one of the first western celebrities to stand up for Palestinians
Sinead was well ahead of her time.
Also, her gorgeous big crystal clear eyes were mesmerising. I dont get why they are brown in the thumbnail?
fr
Wasn't beat up by prince lol
I love Sinead’s music but she was hypocrite at the same time. She ripped the pope’s picture and openly criticised Roman Catholic Church and then a few years later she joined even more oppressive religion… it doesn’t make sense to me 🤷🏼♂️
kind of a clickbait title
Unfairly ruined? She was a loony. She ruined her own career.
No she wasn't a loony
@@thefalconegeneral4820 She absolutely was. 😅
@@ciciriddickols provide some explanation or insight on how she was loony ?

@@itsbonkerjojo9028 There are quite a few examples, but there's the fact that she was a pathological liar. She accused Prince of inviting her to his home and getting into an argument that ended with him "punching her". Get fucking for real, Prince never wanted anything to do with her let alone invite her to his home.
sinead is truly an icon and legend, her legacy will always be remembered. ❤🩹
Beautifully done Honest 🩷
