The fact that she hasn't release a single song in 2 years and a proper project in 8 and still is the 5th most listened artist on Spotify worldwide should tell you all you need to know about her power, she is and forever will be really THAT girl
But low-key we really don’t. We are so blessed with what we already have. Don’t get me wrong, I’m curious to hear what R9 has to offer, but chica, we good with her already fabulous discography.
this video could have been hours long. each of rihanna’s singles has something exquisite going on. she’s a legend, she’s an icon, and she is the moment!!!!
OOOOOOH we're about to get controversial. My favorite is Only Girl, when i heard that song for the first time i said: "I'll never be the same person again, i want to feel in love like this"
I used to hate “Don’t Stop the Music” growing up because it was overkill on the radio lol. Now that I’m older I realize it’s not that bad of a song just overplayed
Kiss it better is without a doubt my favorite Rihanna record. The song doesn’t seem fully fleshed out like there’s something definitely missing but it’s irresistible nevertheless. That whole album defined my late 20”s ❤️
Even when she is one of the biggest popstars from the past decades, I like how she is able to keep her private life somewhat out of the spotlight. Like regarding her child for example. I really respect her for not pushing any publicity onto them, like other celebrities like to do. She is just doing her own thing in her own way and still slaying
This was a monumental undertaking, Rihanna's discography is STACKED!! That said, I'm feeling your ranking, Honest! My personal faves include Man Down, BBHMM, Needed Me, Jump, We Found Love, Umbrella, Take Care. And I agree about Lift Me Up, it's one of my least faves by Queen RiRi
I will always say Rihanna was ahead of her time, she was making crazy visuals in music videos, theateratical perfamances, and fashion before lady gaga. Idk why she's not credited on it, but then i remember this girl is poc makes sense. Kinda like Blackout, where people say the fame brought the edm sound but it really didn't blackout and Justin Timberlake's record brought that sounds as well as dubstep.
The biggest selling artist of the 21st century, and only #2 greatest selling female artist of all time to Madonna. Plus Rihanna has the most #1 hits out of any artist of the 21st century. I was mad Billboar didn't give her artist of the decade for 2010s, considering she outsold and charted everyone. But billboard is fake and has industry politics.
Taylor Swift was more consistent, she at least a #2 hit every year since 2010 and amazing longevity at charts, and so so so many entrees, I think the most of the decade. And has much bigger albums tho, all went #1 and 1989 is the second biggest of the century (or decade, I don't remember) only behind 21 by Adele. Rihanna is for sure deserving of it as well, but Taylor also makes sense, now more than ever tho
The most consistent hit maker of the 21st century 2005 - debut era 2006 - sophomore era 2007 - superstar breakthrough era 2008 - superstar era continued 2009 - controversy / dark era (Russian Roulette & Hard did underperform but still moderate hits) 2010 - Rude Boy smashed saving the Rated R era and the huge Loud era begins 2011 - Loud continues smashing, WE FOUND LOVE, Talk That Talk era 2012 - Talk That Talk continued, DIAMONDS, Unapologetic era begins 2013 - Unapologetic continued, STAY was huge this year 2014 - Can’t Remember To Forget You, Monster 2015 - her first miss year for me. Didn’t care for any of the singles she dropped, although FourFiveSeconds & Bitch Better Have My Money were hits 2016 - WORK, Anti era begins, Video Vanguard 2017 - Anti era continues, WILD THOUGHTS 2018 - Hiatus, Billionaire Mogul era begins😭 She played the game SO smart . Worked consistently for 12 years, establishing herself as a pop juggernaut and icon, then took a definite hiatus to establish herself as a global mogul and became a billionaire as a result. Now she NEVER has to step foot in a studio or on a stage ever again although I think she will eventually but it’ll be entirely on HER time😮💨
I love that you put Kiss it Better as number one! Definitely one of my favorite songs from her. There’s a very, very sexy vibe to that song. It’s my favorite from that album for sure.
for me, it has to be Love On The Brain. It is just so brilliant, from the simple yet effective production to the totally opposite - complex, vocal and emotional performance, but as effective, even more maybe. It is done so tastefully, and the violinsss, and the tone changes the way does the "ow ow ow oww" imitating a violin, and then saying word "violin" it in a lyric right after AND THEN the acual violin playing... i mean a masterpiece truly, and not only her best imo, but one of the best songs ever created.
Surprised that I agreed with number one. I was never a huge Rihanna fan, but Anti by far is her best work in my opinion. And Kiss it Better just has this timelessness to it. Honestly I’m glad she (seemingly) ended her music career on such a high.
These kind of rankings are hard as FUCK because Rih is such a chameleon and like most of her singles do not sound the same. Some days I prefer Pop Rih and other days i prefer Reggae Rih like??
I personally would have put American Oxygen, Russian Roulette and Sledgehammer higher. All really meaningful songs that are deep when you really listen to the lyrics!
I so agree with Kiss It Better, it's SO AMAZING and ugh that GUITAR is just amazing. Also true about What Now, I love that song and how it's part ballad but also part drums/electronic and they mix so well together

Yes Honest!!!! Finally ranking other artists singles! Rihanna has one of the greatest catalogs of hits to come out of Pop Music History ✨👑✨ Who else could honestly sing, and interpret Only Girl (In The World), Diamonds, and Umbrella and turn them into global chart toppers? Rihanna’s presence, style, and persona is truly a signature, and in a class of its own! Fun fact: Kiss It Better was supposed to be the lead single of Anti, but Travis Scott talked her out of it 😤 Despite that… Kiss It Better is pure midnight ethereality! A Rihanna essential! 👑
I'm not a big Rihanna fan but I do love quite a few songs: "We Ride", "Umbrella", "Shut Up And Drive", "Take A Bow", "Only Girl (In The World)", "U Da One", "Wild Thoughts", "The Monster", "Can't Remember To Forget You" & "Fly"
It’s we found love, Man Down, we ride, te amo, S&M, luvn if u want, BBHMM, Where have U been, & Pour it up for me. Fresh off the Runway & Watch n learn was also SLEPT ON💯
My God…Kiss It Better is such a beautifully crafted song. Incredibly underrated but I’m so glad it was number one in your list. It’s probably my favourite song by Rihanna

her discography is great as it is, begging for a new album is pointless
Rihanna pumped out seven albums in seven years. If she’s done with music, Anti was a great way to go out.

Just realised that this is probably what the new age girlies are trying to do but it isn't working
I appreciate you dedicating a whole video for Rihanna’s singles.
It’s wild to me how many hits she has. What a true icon! The best for me are “Stay”, “Love on the Brain”, “Diamonds”, and “We Found Love”
