This is the same rhythm that Joe Morello had in his master studies one book on page 31 exercise five except it was reversed and started with right right and ended with left left. Pretty clever of Stanton to use that rhythm. Very creative of him.
Hey Stanton, been a huge fan for many years of your drumming and Galactic which I’ve seen more than 20 times live. Your playing with on the COC album was great as well, most people don’t realize you played on that but it was great.
Very cool way to apply a simple sticking and get creative with it around the kit. That is one of the main reasons I enjoy your playing so much Stanton. That and your energy when you play. I mentioned to one of my students yesterday how you almost come off of your drum throne when you play. I love that passion and energy you bring.
Besides the sticking itself and its super cool applications, this is a great lesson on how to get the most out of one thing without the need of "reinventing the wheel" every time we sit on the drum-set!! Thanks for sharing this, Stanton!! So inspiring... 🙏🙏🙏 Btw, SMDA rules BIG time!!! 🥇✌️💯❤️
FINALLYYYYY!!!! I've been studying previous vids utilizing your pandiero with no success... UNTIL NOW! Thank you thank you so much, Stanton, for making and posting this super important and versatile groove. Excellent demos, breakdowns and suggestions. You're the BEST!!
There are and were so many great drummers out there. However, I really enjoy your style of drumming most and i would kill to be able to play any of it.
This one is cool also RRLRLL it's a standard RLRRLRLL Paradiddle just take out the first RL and you get RRLRLL. It's now a 6 stroke roll just changed up. Great for drum fills and soloing. Awesome playing and video's Stanton really fun to learn your style and playing. Love the funk !!!!!!!! 10 stars !!!!!
Thanks for tuning in! I like that RRLRLL. You could also think of it as a left-hand lead paradiddle diddle that starts on the RR. Very cool! Thanks for the feedback.🙌🏼🥁🙏🏼
@@stantonmooremusic Your Awesome !!!! I keep learning new drum licks all the time from your channel Stanton thank you so much. I am 68 and going strong brother. Music is life way cool to still be playing and learning. Can't thank you enough for your work. Very inspiring. Bliss you. Take care.
Not sure you’ll see this so many years later but could the downloadable pdf for this lesson contain wrong bass drum pattern because it doesn’t seem to match the pattern in the video. Thanks! Great stuff!
I'd like to see the kick pattern written out. I'm a beginner so I need to see how the notes line up. The hand pattern is doable as it's a stick control pattern.
@@stantonmooremusic thank you for the reply ! They both sound good to me, i love dark sounding crashes. What is iyo the closest sounding cymbal to the Pang currently in production ? From a quick look, it seem that the pang series has been discontinued some time ago.
@@stantonmooremusic awesome. Yep found it last night with a bit of searching. You have it tuned, MICed, and EQed to sound like an African drum... Very nice. Way to sell that product. Got one in my cart.
If you had to name this sticking, what would you call it?
Moorediddle
I call this.
“That Stanton Moore thing”
Moore's Funky Fang Thang. Of course!
Stanton Stutter
jamie morrison : Haha I agree👍🏾

Dang that sounds so badass! Love the displacement as you switch orchestrations.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
The sounds are SO tuneful/musical. I likes 'em a lot. :-)
Always something interesting. Love how it has a lift when you play it. Should call it "Stanton's funky lift groove"
Love this Stanton.
You’ve done a similar one a while back.
But I need the reminder.
Love it.
Thanks very much mate. 👊
So smooth. Definitely gonna work on this.
This guy has such amazing groove. Everything he plays sits sooo nicely
This is way beyond cool!!

Thank you Cody 🙏🏼
That stuff is gold. Thanks for sharing !
Such a sick groove - it's just so full.
Thanks 🙏🏼
Really wicked. Thanks a lot for sharing with us!!
Swore I just saw him do one with inverted L paradiddle and then a regular right paradiddle. But permutations are endlessly simple and super funky
How the heck does that tambourine thing he is playing on his left sound like a dang gong drum?? It's awesome.
That's my signature LP pander tuned super low and mic'ed from underneath. I'm glad you dig it!
Lovely
That pandaro, spelling? Sounds amazing! I wonder how it sounds not miked and going through a sub?
This is one badass breakdown. 🫰🏼✨🥁

Just trying to get this down an memorized, maybe thinking it like LL-RLRL-RR...
That’s a good way to think of it!
You can also think of it as RLRL-RRLL started on the LL. Elementally it’s so simple, but so effective. 🙌🏼🥁👊🏼
@@stantonmooremusic Good advice!! Thanks a bunch.
I can easily play these sticknings but it still does not sound like when i play it.... whyyyy? :)
Stanton Moore with Zildjian!?
👌🏽
Very good content. +1 sub. Thank you.
If you could tell me how to acquire that cymbal on you left I would REALLY appreciate it!
@Meicheng Lu that's a prototype Lunar Crash that's not available yet, but will be soon!
Is that the same as the Stanton Moore that lp makes. Do you take the cymbals out?
can anyone tell me which cowbell is mounted on the bass drum to the right of the snare please? thank you.
Stanton NoLa funk sticking
fonkee. thanks
Also, what kind of mic are you using on that pandiero?
What kind of crash is he playing at 1:16 and 1:48 ?
