Damn fine job little brother! Keep it up! I know it’s not “needed” because it’s a double A arm setup on the rear but if it were me I would add some sort of a custom trailing arm running back to the rear and throw a patent on it, use utube to push it(through plans or CAD). Some will say this or that but YOU get paid to advertise YOUR brand!
I appreciate it, I’ve often thought of adding a trailing arm, it would definitely make it much stronger but the space available and the geometry would make it complicated
Do you have any kind of bearings in the pivot/linkage points of your steering and suspension? Or is it straight up steel bolt onto the 1inch square tubing ?
There are bearings in most of the joints as of now.. at the time there were some where it was just a bolt into a hole drilled in the tubing.. or a piece of pipe that the bolt went through as a pivot
Edward garcia it’s two 1” universal joints from “surplus center.com” and 1” keyed shaft also from surplus center. One end is fixed and the other slides when greased. If you are considering doing something similar I’d suggest using car cv axles. Go watch my most recent videos and I explain how to get them from a junkyard and modify them for go kart use. Thanks for watching!
Not trying to be a jerk or nothing but you probably might want to study up on those universal joints almost all of them look to be at to severe of an angle...
georgiaridgerunner 79 believe me I have done plenty of research. Those joints are rated for 15hp and are at an acceptable angle. That is what they are made for, as long as there is no binding when they are rotated (which there isn’t) they are installed properly.

Nice buggy even I build my own homemade buggy
Great job bro! Is possible to make home made go kart by watching on you tube with out automobile injenring cors?
Building something similar. Looked these joints up. They say they’re not good for over 1000rpm. Any issue breaking them?
Never broke them, I’m now using cv axles so I guess there was the possibility but nothing went wrong for me.

Where did you get the universal joints Help. Can’t find any
Amazing.. Homemade buggy like my mine.
Amazing.
Where did you the cv axles? Where those
the ones you got from the junk yard?
These were just two U-Joints with 1” keyed shaft. Later in I got the junkyard ones and at this point I’m using WV axles that work even better!
Are you running cv axles. I only ask because I have extra duramax axles I was thinking about using.

Where did you get those axles?

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I’ll check out that video.
Steel-it paint is weld-able, but kinda costly.
