Matt, I really appreciate your effort to share your learnings. I watched so many Joseph's DVD and went through books and this idea of shapes never struck me. Thanks for enlightening with your workshop experiences and your practices. The more I watch your videos, more I learn what I lack.. :)
Glad that was helpful info for you. The learning never ends!
I don't miss your videos. There is always something new to learn and practice accordingly. Than you
Thank you for reminding us of the importance of these three vital elements for success in painting. Much appreciated.
I agree!
Thank you so much! This information is invaluable .
It caused the lightbulb to go on in my brain showing me where my biggest mistakes were! I always walk away from your videos and demos knowing more about painting watercolor. Thanks for the blessing
Thanks for the reminder on how great paintings are formed. I enjoyed the part on how you stressed the idea of large shapes. Thanks!
Wow, this is powerful Matt! Thank you so much for doing this. As I look at your two paintings I'm thinking yep that's what I need More work on the values. I'm okay on them but I think I can do more. Thank you, thank you thank you Matt, I appreciate you
Matthew, you are a good teacher 👍 thanks for the videos ✌️
Thank you very much Mathew. A great and inspire video!
So glad to hear that!
It's hard to really apply values to the painting when painting wet into wet, but I love what you're explaining and doing. Your paintings are beautiful full of light. Do you let the paper dry between layers? Any kind of explanation on values like for kindergartners. Thank you, gracias
You share the best contents ever. Thank you.
I loved hearing about your experience!
I can't thank you enough for your sharing these tips with us!
Love your videos!!
So Breakthrough#1... when he was creating this painting... did he use masking to retain the highlights or did he add those with gouache or acrylic later?
Love your videos Matthew!

You made me realise that unless we practice on our understanding of values.. nothing is going to work.. thank you... I hope I could work on it

I wish I had the time to watch this video, or even watercolor. Can't wait to practice in my free time
Your videos are very helpful. I find that one of my biggest problems is drawing. From your paintings, it seems you are a consummate draftsman.
Thank you! I'm not a fantastic draftsman I just try and paint every day and that means one drawing a day as well. It adds up over time.
@@learntopaintwatercolor Thank you for your reply. I'm doing that too. I have started playing pickleball, and find my hand-eye coordination has improved. Too bad I didn't learn this earlier in life!
Shukriya.
Do you know where Andy gets his reference photos? I would love to start painting subject matter like his but wouldn’t know where to look
First 😁💕
Rather have the info a bit faster without verbosity of irrelevance.
