This is a short song if you listen to Sondre's music :-)
    Sondre said:
"This song is perhaps the most patient of all the Patience-songs I juggled during the recording of the album.
But the song felt so overwhelming and heavy that I never managed to record it.
I had also always heard another voice sing it inside me, and suddenly AURORA's voice began to appear in
my head when I was out jogging. Her own "Exist For Love" is one of my favorite songs this year, and I felt a vague
    kinship between these two songs.
I told her about the text, and topics such as lust, love and dementia. What the body and heart remember when memory
slowly pulverized. And he who remains and mourns and can not forget. It seems that most people have experience
with dementia in close family in our time.
Two weeks ago I asked AURORA if she would sing "Alone In The Night" with me and she immediately said yes.
A week ago we recorded it. AURORA lifts the song far beyond my most hopeful hopes. She holds one
absolutely exceptional musicality, a precision and a presence that really touches me."

Nice reaction to a very under viewed song. This song should have 10 or 20 times the amount of views it does.

He's from Bergen, so same city/area as Aurora. Very talented dude. Not completely unknown in the US I believe, as he's been touring there, but obviously not huge. Made the soundtrack to the movie "Dan In Real Life" back in the day. The "ch" in his name is pronounced like "k". Foreign names are difficult, so no worries 😊. Gave me a high five during a concert once. Jumped off stage to liven things up. I was a bit intoxicated and half missed. I remember him looking at me in disbelief 😂.

I should add that It's one of the most emotionally powerful I've heard in recent years and the two voices match so beautifully. Thanks for the review.

LOVE this song. Yes, it's a sad song, but a beautiful one, as if from a time decades back.

YAY! :D If anyone is curious...Aurora and Sondre did a podcast together not long ago. It's just 45 minutes of the two of them having a conversation, about this song...but also just life. It's wonderful. And Sondre comes across as a supremely likable person. He also mentions how he initially just planned for Aurora to match his melody line an octave higher, and that's it. But she wanted to do way more because she is, in her own words, "a harmony machine." He also said Aurora herself came up with much of the string parts in the song. Initially it wasn't going to have much if any strings, but Aurora started improvising melody lines for possible string parts, and stacking those up harmonically, and Sondre fell in love with it all.
Anyway, it's a cool little chat and worth checking out if you're an Aurora super fan lol. They talk about a lot more as well...everything from elf pee, to homesickness, to stand up comedy, to how weirdly American sounding Sondre's accent is given he was born and raised in Norway. Actually....I think I'm gonna go listen to it again lol. >_

Yeah time to listen to it again, I forgot about the elf pee already so that´s a bad sign.

      @@Smaugyyy Which Septimus though..?
Igor Septimus? Manchesto Septimus? Septimus is an eternal androgynous pan-psychic entity which inhabits many forms....sometimes cats, or dogs, or algae balls, or...balloons.
If Jeopardy had a category on Aurora....I'd dominate even Ken Jennings and IBM's Watson. lol.... ;P

@@avedic Haha, no doubt about this! I didn´t know about Manchesto the pet balloon, I was thinking of Igor, who lived substantially longer than Manchesto. Here comes her weirdo side into the foreground again. But lovely.

Thanks, I think this might be my favorite Aurora collaboration. Not just the beautiful song, and the way it was arranged and performed, but I also absolutely adore the way the video was composed. This one gets in my feels every time I watch it!

Great reaction! This song is criminally underrated. So, so good. If I'm not mistaken, Aurora did the string arrangement.

She didn't write the strong arrangements I'm afraid 😁 Aurora is exceptionally musical. But she is not classically trained and doesn't read or write music. She added the vocal harmonies though. That was not in the original arrangements

Great reaction, I read that this song is pertaining to Alzheimer, if you listen to the words, that is definitely the feeling that comes across. Beautiful collaboration, her notes at the end and so very lovely. This song gives me 40's vibes. See you on the next Aurora reaction.

He has one other song that I absolutely love, but with another artist. “Sentimentalist” by Ylva (Norwegian artist)

That 6 note descending plucked pizzicato bit around 3:55 is just SO.....cool.
    I don't know why, but that moment is total ear candy for me. It's such a simple bit of musical garnish...but it tickles my ears and brain just right and totally fits the warm enveloping playful mood and vibe of the song. Love it..... :}

Hi Orion, nice reaction! I love this sad love song very much and enjoy the contribution of Aurora to it. Considering it´s not just about love and desire, but about what happens to our bodies and souls during life, and I believe it needs the time to deliver a bittersweet message: Nothing is eternal, neither our memories, and sometimes sicknesses like Alzheimer expose our fragility. This sadness is beautifully portrayed by the strings and background music, and it ends in distorted sounds emphasizing this fragility.

hehe....you fawning over Sondre "Mister McHandsome" Lerche is legit adorable.
I'm not gay or bi, but guys like Sondre honestly make me wish I was at least bi... not even kidding. >_<
I develop these odd little aesthetic crushes on specific guys...like Andrew Vanwyngarden, Matty Healy, George Clanton, David Bowie, and now I suppose Sondre lol. Despite being one of them heteros...it's like, yeah...I _get_ it. I think I'm especially attracted to people who are conventionally good looking....up to a point, but who also have something a little off or odd or unique or idiosyncratic about their look. Rigidly symmetrical hyper gender normative people like Channing Tatum or Pamela Anderson just do nothing for me. I need my girls and guys to look hot....but also a bit, idk....malnourished and sleep deprived? lol. But I'm a weirdo...so....
