Beautiful song/duet. I believe the lyrics are referencing a relationship dealing with dementia. Sad, but beautiful. He picked the perfect young lady to duet with. So lovely

Lovely song, sad subject. They harmonize extremely well together, and her ending high notes, so exquisite. Thanks.

I really love this one. My favorite feature of Aurora's. Absolutely beautiful song, and I love the BTS music video too. You're right that it has an old-timey sound, as if it could be from an old black & white movie. I think a big part of that is the strings, and as I recall, it was Aurora's idea to use strings (though it's Sondre's song).
I'm really glad you were given the background of this song, because it hits so much harder when you know what it's about. Your thoughts on the subject added a lot to your reaction. You're right, it's both sad and scary to think about, but unfortunately, it's not all that uncommon, especially with people generally dying older these days.

Beautiful song and amazing writing as well. Really thoughtprovoking. Its a scary thing to lose oneself or live with loved one that suffers from this.

The strings were arranged by the Irish musician Sean O'Hagan, of whom Sondre is a great admirer. Aurora added the voice harmonizations. They were not in the original arrangement (She calls herself an incorrigible harmony machine).
Aurora was a stand-in backup singer for Sondre Lerche very early in her career (about 10 years ago) and used to spontaneously create harmonies even when she wasn't supposed to 😂.
I get the impression that she personifies the character who disappears into dementia and thus gets extra reverberation in the "by heaaart" part towards the end. Whereupon Sondre is left sitting alone in the dark

    Sondre said:
"This song is perhaps the most patient of all the Patience-songs I juggled during the recording of the album.
But the song felt so overwhelming and heavy that I never managed to record it.
I had also always heard another voice sing it inside me, and suddenly AURORA's voice began to appear in
my head when I was out jogging. Her own "Exist For Love" is one of my favorite songs this year, and I felt a vague
    kinship between these two songs.
I told her about the text, and topics such as lust, love and dementia. What the body and heart remember when memory
slowly pulverized. And he who remains and mourns and can not forget. It seems that most people have experience
with dementia in close family in our time.
Two weeks ago I asked AURORA if she would sing "Alone In The Night" with me and she immediately said yes.
A week ago we recorded it. AURORA lifts the song far beyond my most hopeful hopes. She holds one
absolutely exceptional musicality, a precision and a presence that really touches me."

I really like this one. It's his song, but If I'm not mistaken Aurora came up with the strings. Definitely feels like an old classic. He's been around for a while, very talented and from the same city as Aurora. Based in the US for a while and made the soundtrack the the movie "Dan In Real Life" back in the day. For anyone enjoying his style/voice, "Why Would I Let You Go" Live With KORK (live with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra), is highly recommended. Also sad but beautiful 😊.

I love how the last notes makes you almost forget how the song went, but you still sit with the feelings that the song made you experience.
