- Ever wanted to make your own homemade kebabs on a proper rotisserie? Well, with this kitchen gadget I found online you can do just that - in this video I try kebab skewers, rotisserie a whole chicken and an actual homemade doner kebab! See what you think of it, but for me it was one of the best things i've ever paid for!
Although I bought this on ebay, you can buy the gadget here on Amazon, it's supposed to include a door too by the looks of it!

£10? I don't know of kettles that cheap. Careful it does not burn down the house!
I was very glad when you said it exists. I was worried for a minute;)
I would love one of these to add to my kitchen gadgets but it's too expensive for me to get.
Try cooking a paneer tikka on that or soya chaap even... Would love to see that
unfortunately u made ur kebab wrong its meant to be slabs of meat normally 2 then mince inbetween and pressed down as hard as possible
Not sure you need a rotisserie Barry, when you have Chloe there to do the roasting.
This aint no roast baby
Barry: I think this is my favourite gadget.
Wrapmaster 3000: *jumps off cliff*
Handy tip my local kabab shop uses a electric bread knife to slice the kabab meat off
Mine does too
Yeah and also traditional kebab is made of whole meat slices and not grounded meat
Wtf are you carving? A kebob is just small chunks of meat and veg roasted and served on a stick.
Stapuft we know wtf kabab meat is and did I say i was carving no jog on
@@victoriahj8072 carving involves a knife, like when you carve gyro meat or when you carve roast beef, or a roast chicken. Kebobs don't need to be carved. They are bite size chunks of meat and veg roasted on a stick.
Wtf is a "jog on"?
If you add salt to your mince it will get stickier and hold together better. Work it until your arms are ready to fall off, it will get more compact and will be easier to slice.
So adding salt and working it in a mixer with a dough hook would be the best thing right? lol
And a couple of eggs.
@@jase6709 OK thank you will try this
And a couple of tablespoons of Polyfilla. When it cooks out you can hardly taste it!
@@dother4688 put it in a food processer. I add a couple ofeggs and a handfull of breadcrumbs the whizz it up until its a really thick paste then you get a smooth kebab meat that slices much better when cooked.
Can’t afford Barry White, but we’ve got a white Barry.
Huzzah lol
Omg yes we need an entire meal made with gadgets! Maybe 4 courses like you do for 4321??
I have a little tip for the ground meat. After mixing in all the spices, pick up the meat and slam it into the bowl (best to use a metal bowl) do this about 10-15 times and it makes the meat more gluey and will help it stick together better. It also gives it a better consistency for eating in my opinion.
that lamb looked like a brain after mixing ;-)
Love how Chloe is basically just "please hush and feed me 😊."
All the ladies in this house are just too sassy and I love them. Becky's "yes honey, i believe you" back pat was just *kisses fingers*.
Thank you Barry for posting these videos! Love them! I love binge watching and having a Barithon! Excited to see how a £10 rotisserie works!
*Edit*
Wow!! That is impressive!!!!
Aww Chloe just melts my heart, she is so adorable!
Barry! Please dear! Get yourself an Ove Glove! It will help keep you from burning your fingers when you need to just use your fingers. I have had mine for years and I love it. You're killing me burning your hands and fingers like that.
No. He is not killing you
@@swanningabout you're not really good with hyperbole or figures of speech are you? 🙄
@@mrs.thomas-usmcwife5686 I am...and that's the point. It's nonsense.
@@swanningabout this is why no one likes you or your neckbeard smartarsery
Chloe has such adorable expressions! Barry, you and your family bring me such joy. I do not know why I only just started receiving your videos recently. I am happy! God Bless.
Your family is my favorite part of all your videos. Your girls are just precious and your wife is too funny. Love from Canada ❤
"apparatus, is that a type of food"
Chloe 2019
I’d love to see an entire meal made with different gadgets! What a good idea
Btw
Chloe is SOO CUTE
The way your daughter looks at you all focused when you're talking is the cutest thing ever!
The post-pub 'Elephant's Leg' kebab. A stone cold classic. The best one I ever had was in York, where they gave you a huge box with all the component parts Pitta, Salad, Meats, Sauces, Chips, etc., in compartments, and you made your own how you liked. Brilliant.
that wood pecker toy has just brought back so many childhood memories!
Mr Barry I've watched you for a couple years now right from your old house. Just wanted to say love you you and all your fam 💕 keep it up!
@@CallieMasters5000 haha maybe I am. Super fan 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great one, Barry. Love your videos, including the Super Size Guys! Straight forward ideas but I’m completely hooked. Always make me chuckle regularly. Also watch all of Ashens funny stuff. Keep them coming!
My fiance got me one of these for Christmas, I then embarked on a mission to make the ultimate home made doner. The trick is to make nice firm burger patties and stack them on top of each other :) it gives you a more consistent doner, up until then I did the way you're doing it now ;) stack patties!! It works a million times better and with the right amount of garlic and spices you'll get a seriously tasty doner unlike anything from a shop :) add a beaten egg or two and half a cup of breadcrumbs and it sticks together really well
I Love how it looks like your (ridiculously adorable) daughter is wearing the sombrero at 16:13!
I think you've found yourself the best toy ever.
This is the first video of yours I have ever seen and I must say, I loved it! You are quite entertaining. Keep up the great work!
Just gotta say this Barry, I DO believe you are a cooking channel pioner revolutionary, and I def mean it cause of the way you show the cuantities of ingredients and the way to prepare them in such an extremely visual way, I can't tell you how many times I've been left wondering if I didn't messed un the very exact measurements recipes call for, when coocking is as much an art as it is a science and the way you do it is like "this is basically how it must look, if it does you are on the right track" and that has turned cooking into such a lovely and gratifying and overall delicious experience for me.
I was about to ask what your "Oh My God Becky" shirt referred to.
Then I realized...its from "Baby Got Back".
I did a barry binge and the way your hair changes wow lol love your videos.
It's called a barrathon
Chloe is so funny with all the silly faces, just like her daddy! Keep the videos coming you all make my day, could have been a horrible day at work come home watch some of your videos and I'm laughing, everytime!!! Thanks Lewis family for all the laughs!!!
Can't wait for the biltong and jerky episode. Coming from Cape Town SA, biltong is my favourite snack.
@@CallieMasters5000 it's made differently to jerky.
@@Narniaru correct and it is out of this world. 🤤 so good. And ( Droë wors, and chilli bites )
@@CallieMasters5000 Biltong is miles better than beef jerky.
It's the best!🤤
Handy tip: the doner kebab meat will be sticker and easier to slice if you grind it up in a food processor beforehand.
Leaving that on for 2 & a half hours in my place would use half of my weekly electric allowance!
I loved the way that he said the kebab was cooked through when slicing it, and red juices ran down the chopping board. There was not even a flinch on his face hehe
Red is heme not blood and is always there..it stays red unless your meat is cooked very well done all the way through. Red doesn't mean raw in this case
I got one of those and I love it. I had it sitting in the box for like a year before I used it and now I use it at least once a week.
I hope you can teach Korean BBQ for the world wide food series! I could never get any different types of Korean BBQ marinate to taste right.
Go to Maangchi's channel for the best authentic Korean recipes.
21:20 one of my favourite gadgets over their
Daughter:u mean me
Lol
Just when a was thinking of getting one of these,…i find your video ! Your so fun to watch. I like your realistic take on this . Good job 👍
Barry: that's probably one of my favorite gadgets.
Chloe: you mean me?
Chloe is absolutely fantastic 😂 properly takes after her dad!
What a brilliant video, I was really hoping you would do one for the rotisserie machine 😁
I like that "toaster situation" has become a recurring phrase. I wonder if any newcomers are confused by that.
fluffy can you explain? 😂
@@zane3556 He had a toaster from the US that he plugged into his UK power socket. Because the US only uses 120 volts while UK is on 230, the toaster caught on fire.
Redthirst omg 😂
I had such a great time watching this video, so good explanation and very funny. Thanks
First time visitor of your channel, was actually looking for chicken hot pot ...sent me here? But oh my word, what great find. Amazing video, love your kitchen, amazing looking food. Subscribed
"It's a kebab, you've probably eaten a few of those at 2 a.m."
I'll take British Stereotypes for 500, Alex. :D
The editing on this ❤️
Probably one of my favorite videos lol!
Absolutely love your sense of humour
I burned my bottom on a radiator when I was a kid too. Had to go to the hospital.
Congratulations
Ok
This made me laugh! >
Chloe: Apparatus ... Is that a type of food?
You: ... No -.-
My mom's rotisserie used to have a glass cover that would slide open and shut to trap the heat in. Not sure if they're all supposed to have this feature, but it was definitely a useful addition.
Loved it! Would be interesting to see you do a Part II to this video and what you come up with.
Put the minced meat in a blender so it becomes like a paste also add salt this makes it easier to stick together plus an electric knife would be useful to carve the meat at the end
Barry, the pole is called the Skin Burner.
We have a really old Ron Popeil set it and forget it rotisserie. It’s literally the best counter top appliance we’ve gotten. We always cook our thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys in it every year. We’ve had it for like 15 years! Having our rotisserie going during the holidays have saved us so much time and precious oven space! Try that Ron Popeil rotisserie!
So I started watching this video late at night when I was already tired , fell asleep and briefly had a dream about having acupuncture with kebab skewers LOL
Ihr seid eine tolle Familie ;-)
Liebe grüße aus Deutschland
They don’t use ground beef or ground chicken to make shawarma
He didn't make shawarma though. He just did the cheapest option to make what looked like youd find in a kebab shop.
Okay this one seems amazing of all the ones I've seen on your channel so far and I've watched every video you have uploaded I'd say id definitely try this machine!!!!
That is so awesome mate, gonna get one myself cheers and happy new year to you and ur lovely family.
I was literally just searching for "spit cooking over fire" videos on RUclips... Which is know isn't the same as this...but uh...close... Anyways I'm gonna shut up and watch another one of Barry's fantastic videos
"Can you put an apple in a marrow" literally the most Barry thing, Barry has ever said
Whenever barry uses the word "stem", i have to think of the barshens video with the wankerchief
especially when he got to the "i need to clean my stem" and "the stem's a bit wobbly" bits :D
So... one thing to note is that if you’ve got rotating cookers like this that aren’t enclosed, you should turn off any fans or ceiling fans that might blow across it, otherwise the air-flow will interfere with even-cooking.
Enjoyed the energy you exhibited in this video. The food looked scrumptious and it was funny watching you figure out how to use the verticle cooker.
I just wanted you to know Berry that yours wasn't complete it is supposed to have a front cover that comes with it
That would make sense. I was wondering how much energy the device consumes and wastes, and a front cover definitely would reduce that.
I wondered! I thought what a mess that would make with drips and splatters as the meat cooks.
Some have one and some don't
Chloe is such a cute little girl with ALOT of personality!! I just LOVE your fam. 😉
K B ARENT THEY ALL SO LOVELY , the KIDS AND PUGS ARE SO ADORABLE TOO
I’m a better chef than Barry
Love the Queen's sombrero!
Thanks for this great video. Was looking to purchase this myself and you have helped me make my decision... YES lol
The meat looks fantastic but the tastiest thing on your video is your other half... absolutely scrumptious lol
I'm definitely buying this, even though I have no more storage ...I don't care.
The smoke is just water vapour from when you washed it
didn't he say it smelled though? I'm guessing a little residual oil on the inside of the unit that got heated up.
What vapour - steam - isn't generally black and smelly
Dave F It wasn’t black though...
It is residue from the manufacturing of non-stick material which burns off on first use
Lol... smokey water vapor. What will they think of next?
Great content Barry!!
17:04 HAAHAHA! I'M DYING!! That's just gold!
Cute daughter, maybe you should let her do the reviews !
Barry you need to learn to use that large slicing knife.. Use the full length of it
And I think it was not very sharp. I am not a "all must be crazy sharp", but I think that knife was really not very sharp.
Barry never broke a law
"was that a spark" nah bro its oil flicking onto the element haha xD
This thing looks awesome!
use one of those electric meat carvers on the kebab, will work a treat
10 quid well spent.
That was cool haha I liked the chicken part that was very neat and the kebabs looked yummy thanks for showing the video
That eye twinkle. Barry really is magical
"It's a kebab. You've probably eaten a few at 2 AM."
Giggity?
No, he means after going out drinking.. Not sexual at all.
@@Farquad76.547 Or hes never had drinks and drunken food at 2am.
The “stem” is called a spit just like the one you do a pig with
Jamie Miller Barry likes them pigs
When I worked in a takeaway, we didn't baste the kebab meat, but we did slice it super thin and crispy using a special carving knife ordinarily used to shave off layers of skin in skin graft operations.
Chanced upon this video and it was bloody brilliant. Kind of how I like to play about with cheap tools for repairing retro computers, but cooking and I also love to cook. Subscribed and looking forward to more!
My boyfriend when he saw the queen in the background: "El Izabeth!" 🤣
Amazing 😂😂😂
Am I the only one who would absolutely LOVE to see Mrs. B do a whacky beauty gadgets series?
The deal you got on eBay made me curious, I just found one for $15.00 US. I’m now looking forward to cooking stuff like this.
I've only seen one of your videos so far but you and your family are awesome :D
Heard a rumour that you love paprika...could you confirm this
hes like off brand gordon ramsay
he's nothing like Gordon Ramsey though..
More of a West Country Jamie Oliver 🤔
Not
Even
actually if you've ever seen real Gordon Ramsey, not the wound up ball of fury they have him play on American shows, he's a LOT like Barry, he gets giddy, goofs off like a kid, laughs a lot, blushes and gets flustered, trips up, knocks things down, laughs at himself for messing up a dish, and is a good sport about it all. He could do a show with Barry and they would both have tons of fun.
your daughter's stitch shirt made my day xD Always love random Stitch appearances.
its gonna be great in winter
Such a waste of energy. They really should have included a glass cover for the front to reflect the heat back into the food. Otherwise you're just heating up the room
@NamedKitten Ah. That makes more sense. Thanks for the info
NamedKitten LoL, paying attention is dead
well if its heating up the room you will be warm so just turn off the rad in that room!
Heater in the winter cyros in the breakfast nook yess plz
Libby Rees you are simple.
Please cook an entire meal using gadgets and create a playlist of doing that please!?!?!?!?
Great, thanks Barry!?! That’s all I need, another kitchen gadget, lol
Does this thing have a cover on the outside for splatter??
Sometimes I swear you make it more difficult on purpose lol. I'm sure you've made a bacon bomb/explosion previously, what you want to do is basically that technique with the lamb mince, lay it flat onto some wrap, put the rotisserie pole at the start and roll it into the lamb so its central when you finish rolling. A lot less hassle and a lot neater looking too.
Edit: Also invest in an electric bread knife, it will make carving kebabs a hell of a lot easier, even when its moving.
Never clicked faster
Chloe is absolutely adorable. Love the videos.
I have had one for some time and love it.Yes it should have a door !
Oh and to stop the chicken drying out cook it the other way up
