2:57 I shot a missile launcher thing with that tank.. 4 times, all direct hits, that’s 8 rounds and still didn’t kill it. With the sonic tank, you can sit behind the mountain on the c point, and fire into the point and noone can take it, and you can hit people at/going to B
the missile launcher is easy to destroy, just aim for the launchers and the ammunition kabooms. Really strong hull though, pretty sure it's the same as the CT-T
The sonc is op as fuck, but you just gotta learn to play the Q-ad. Spam the missiles, they're disposable and recharge. Use the gun while using the missiles.

The worm is also very similar but lacks the thousands of teeth and lastly the weird particles are GE but in the film is a substance called spice and that big cargo vehicle is a spice or GE harvester.

I really appreciate the fact that the vehicles and buildings not only take reference from the recent Dune film, but also from the old Westwood Dune RTS games (Dune 2 was literally the very first RTS).
As an old ass gamer, this event is SOO nostalgic. It's referencing the dune series, but in particular old Westwood studios "Dune 2000". The B point almost looks like a full base with the comm-center, spice silos, the walls and wall-turrets, and the Wind traps! O M G (the RGB buildings you said? those xD) (And the ornithopters of course), not to mention vehicle aesthetics.
You need to go even further back. Dune 2000 is a remake of Dune II, from 1992, and everything in this event (especially the structures) is based on Dune II designs. The gold-domed palace, and the blocky harvester with the pointy nose, are especially iconic in that regard.
Gotta say that I’m rather satisfied with this April fools update since it’s my first one. Joined last summer, so it was nice to have a good first experience. Can’t say if id have enjoyed that Pony one…
@@chipsahoyboy5407 I was able to singlehandedly hold the B point with the sonic tank for an entire game, literally hiding inside in a corner and blasting people who are not even close by just aiming using the mini-map since they keep getting spotted. Basically if a sonic is within 1KM range and is behind cover there is nothing you can do while they can easily kill you without ever exposing themselves.
Yeah, the Sonic is pretty OP. The double barrel fella on red is rather good if you can get on a hill. I’ve been able to fend off A a couple times with it because of the insane firepower

a few fun things to note about this mode: what's interesting is that france actually has made many real vehicles just like the armoured car in the event, like google "panhard sphinx" they also made the CRAB Last year the type 96 MPM for japan was accepted for consideration. IT's the type 93 but with fire and forget + manual anti ship missiles. if you drive into the worm as it swallows someone else, you'll be shot out flying And that's all I got

I remember back when i played this event, sandworm closed on on me and a teammate, both of us just sat there hoping for it to bugger off, didn't, so i iust decided fuck it and shot the ground near me to get the worms attention
All the building designs on the cap are from the Dune2 game. There's a Barracks, Refinery, Windtraps, Silos and the Palace building. Also spotted Command center in the spawns. The turrets are also from that specific dune game being the more advanced models with the rocket launchers. All the vehicles also represent vehicles of the Atreides (Blue team) and Harkonnen (Red team). Atreides had the Sonic tanks as their special unit and Harkonnen had the Devastator twin barreled tank. Q-AD(Quad), CT-T(Combat tank) and R-LAU (Rocket launcher) were the common units shared by both of these teams. TOPTER (Ornithopter) on the other hand used to be not available for Harkonnen but for the sake of this events balance they added it to both. Yes, I'm a 90's dosgaming boomer :D I was pleasantly surprised by this event being so on the nose Dune 2 reference. Such a massive nostalgia trip.
the CT-T is personally my favorite but then again i have shot down ~10 topters with its main cannon so i am biased. i think they might be testing expanding and contracting danger zones (maybe for a battle royale)

For some people saying its weird, This event is based on a Frank Herbert's book "Dune" or the film from 2021 (or older one). There was a fantastic helicopter (ornithopter), which was proved by scientists that it's impossible by any machine to fly using such rotors. I really reccomend to read or watch it its super fun and amazing.
I like the hypersonic tank cause it can shoot through walls and stuffs, kinda funny to see the shot replay and see the enemy tank start moving around to look who shot him but cant see cause theres a wall were the shot came from

In the game that this is all an homage to, namely Dune II, the Devastator Tank was the developers' way to make the Harkonnen sneakily get around the ban on nuclear weapons in the Dune setting. So it's not a nuclear bomb, it's 'just' a nuclear-powered tank which happens to have (in Dune II) a self-destruct button ;)
i have spent over 15 million lions buying chests and keys, everytime it looked like it would land on something worthy it'd suddenly switch back to something bad, which i can say was infuriating. Worst of all, the best thing i got out of opening over 250 chests(thats just what i know, could be close to 500) was just the 100,000 lion pickup, nothin better than that, not even a hat lol
The entire spinning animation is bullshit. The reward is pre determined as soon as you open the box. Vehicles also have something like 0.0001% chance of dropping so good luck
The S-ONC is incredibly overpowered. Shooting through terrain is a cool gimmick, but it is fairly long ranged and is impossible to defeat once they start camping

I think this is the best April fools for a long time. This "Dune" themed one is just awsome! I prefer this one by large instead of the last year's future theme. (or was it 2 years before?)

For some people saying its weird, This event is based on a Frank Herbert's book "Dune" or the film from 2021 (or older one). There was a fantastic helicopter (ornithopter), which was proved by scientists that it's impossible by any machine to fly using such rotors. I really reccomend to read or watch it its super fun and amazing.
The particle effects on A is the Spice Mélange in the air.
I like the hypersonic tank cause it can shoot through walls and stuffs, kinda funny to see the shot replay and see the enemy tank start moving around to look who shot him but cant see cause theres a wall were the shot came from
the red heavy tank has a nuke motor, if you destroy it, it may kill you since it has a effect like a 1000 - 2000 kg bomb

In the game that this is all an homage to, namely Dune II, the Devastator Tank was the developers' way to make the Harkonnen sneakily get around the ban on nuclear weapons in the Dune setting. So it's not a nuclear bomb, it's 'just' a nuclear-powered tank which happens to have (in Dune II) a self-destruct button ;)

i have spent over 15 million lions buying chests and keys, everytime it looked like it would land on something worthy it'd suddenly switch back to something bad, which i can say was infuriating. Worst of all, the best thing i got out of opening over 250 chests(thats just what i know, could be close to 500) was just the 100,000 lion pickup, nothin better than that, not even a hat lol

you forgot to mention that the red faction heavy twin barrel has proxy fuse, which works WONDERS against all vehicles top-down
The S-ONC is incredibly overpowered. Shooting through terrain is a cool gimmick, but it is fairly long ranged and is impossible to defeat once they start camping
