The answer may surprise you! ...unless you're familiar with my channel. In which case you know exactly how this is going to end.
Diablo 2 has some pretty crazy status effects, but Poison is probably one of my favorite. Just tag an enemy with the effect and run away. But does this work for the entire game?
Time to find out if Diablo 2 can be beaten with only the poison status.

The fact that one of your easiest runs ever was nearly stopped by a simple wooden door is kind of amazing.
It wasn't nearly stopped. There are multiple workarounds and easy solutions, like for example a telly staff.
or walking around it xD. No paths in that area are completely blocked off. But that wouldn't add to the awesomeness of the video :P @@CaptainMarci104
About Achmel, assuming that it's AI is similar to other Greater Mummies, he can only revive undead in his sight, so I guess you killed enough skeletons in areas he could not see since there was like only one skeleton around when he ran at you, think the AI notice if it has less than a certain number undead alive, and nothing to rez it tries to rush the player, with the devs programming it like that assuming the corpses might be near the player outside the Mummies range
I think it's just corpses despawning - floor looks a lot more "clean" around the time boss started chasing Lemon.
@@pillagius Both Carrion Vain and Solar creeper consume corpse while restoring health/mana respectively.
would not put past anything that it would actually consume corpse, despite lacking healing properties.

Yeah, carrion vine definitely eats corpses periodically.
Im guessing Holy Damage is your fourth favorite way if dealing damage
There's no such thing as holy damage in diablo 2. There are skills that only deal damage to undead though.

@@gefehede7783 this is actually wrong. blessed hammer does magic and holy damage. holy gamage just means it does increased damage to undead and demons
@@tradexvoid blessed hammer does not do holy dmg, because creature immune to magic dmg ( aka the mommies in act 2 in hell ) take no dmg from blessed hammer, holy bolt however, does holy dmg and is the only 100%magic dmg skill that can kill magic immune creature.
@@JamesDM4 Doesn't it mean that there are technically two pure magic damage skills that can kill immunes, since Fist of Heavens also releases holy bolts.

Nah, no need for this trashcontent glorifying what ActiBlizz made out of Diablo 2, Diablo 2 Resurrected, which isn't not as MUCH of a conning shitshow as Warcraft 3 Reforged but honestly pretty close, as you can see on the new animations f.e.
The Werewolf wlk looks more like some ape and not like a lykantrope but alas, 90% of the viewers are probably not even old enough to have played or even bought the original Diablo 2 themself xD

D2 was my first game I ever played and it's still one of my favorite games ever made (and yes I'm avoiding the Activision blizzard depression I'm having)

I learned so much about Diablo in this video.. so in the spirit of knowledge, did you know that a cousin of the "harvey" potato vine is actually peanuts.. like peanuts grow on a bush.. but not on the bush, they are actually a structure in the root system of a small bush.. so when you pick peanuts you actually grab a small shrub at the base and pull out a huge root ball covered in peanuts... they only grow in sandy or loamy soil thats why you can pull the whole root system out of the ground... well now you know. Love your videos

13:05 So this seems related to a glitch found by D2 LOD speedrunners. It used to be that you would lure out each wave into the hallways since there is a trigger in the room (near the entrance) that spawns the wave. Interestingly, in the latest speedrunning strategy, it was discovered that there are actually two triggers! One triggers a cue to Baal that you have entered the room, the second triggers the actual spawn of the next wave. It turns out that if you interrupt the second trigger by turning around after triggering the first trigger, the game will register that you left the room while still registering that a wave has spawned (even though a wave hasn't actually spawned). So, I think you stumbled onto the old speedrunning strat BL!
Or Harvey triggered the unraveler's melee attack and didn't deaggro. It can be attacked after all.
I’m glad that someone else shares my passion for DoT effects. Poison, bleeding, radiation, rarely fire, etc are always my favorite ways to play games regardless of how bad they’re implemented
2019: time is normal
2020-2023: blinks for 5 seconds
2024: time is normal once again
I want to see more actual backlogs videos. The challenge videos are great, esp with the variety content lately, but I do want to see you do more of your actual backlogs.
If you plan on doing more D2 challenges in the future, buy up Antidotes for Andariel and Thawing Potions for Duriel. They will give you a ton of poison resist and cold resist respectively, and the more you drink the longer they last. I think it's like 30seconds per potion you drink.

Assuming you know what your doing, have time to grind out the proper gear with the right stats, and put quite literally days into it.

You should try Fear and Hunger! its a VERY hard game, and after completing it, there will be a lot of room to do challenge runs

When I played the game a decade ago (when I was only in elementary school), I didn't read the skill descriptions and thought that the Druid vines are actually earthworms...
Never even thought as the vine skills as damage dealers, so props to this run... and any Diablo 2 run in the future.

The "Hey, it's Lemon." greeting, depending on the tone, always invokes one of two feelings in me.
a) A good friend giving me a phone call.
b) A vaguely melancholic ex giving me a phone call.
I saw this on your Pikmin video and immediately groaned. Having played Diablo 2, I know how useless poison is. A fully decked out build struggles sometimes as there's no good way to break immunities

The first time I played a Diablo game, I never saw any of the bosses. My computer froze on boss spawn, and since I had thorns damage, when the game resumed there was just a pile of loot. Finally glad I get to see what the bosses look like and what they do!
Long ago I made a poison javelin amazon for PvP. It was surprisingly effective against a lot of players

I saw Valkyrie chronicles in your backlog library honestly that series would be really interesting for challenge runs using only one class personally a huge fan of the scout class would be hard to win only using them though for sure

@@aussiejo5764 in the first game that can be done pretty easily yeah you make a good point but in any of the later ones it would be hard kinda forgot that it just happens to be my favorite class though honestly still don’t think it would be easy for a first time playthrough
@@aussiejo5764 you mean buff alica defense and attack, charge her into enemy main base, solo every troop and capture base to win on turn 1? Yeah, that was the scout class. OP as hell but never made the game feel stale. Top tier game for sure.
Scouts are good in every game the first one makes scouts op because of spoiler reasons. A real Valkyria Chronicles challenge would be a Lancer only run.

You know Lemon....that Firebombs only run would be super easy in Diablo 2 mechanically. The Assassin's very first trap skill is called Fire Blast. The first line under its name states and i qoute "Throw a Fire Bomb". I think the goddess must be spread in Sanctuary my friend. The Academy has called you!
Not sure if you know this, you probably do, but starting in act 3 you can buy a staff with teleport charges on it. It's expensive, but the barricade doors in act 5 are no problem at all with it.
one of my favorite trick in Diablo 2:
Necromancer with Blood Golem and Iron Maiden.
the Blood Golem recovers health when it does damage, and shares heath with you.
Iron Maiden is a curse spell that reflects damage. (sort of like thorns, BUT you have to actively cast it on the enemy)
the kicker is that the game counts reflected damage as damage done BY the Blood Golem!
this trick makes almost every Melee-type enemy VERY easy to defeat!
one exception is Duriel, because his attacks also do Ice damage, which apparently doesn't get reflected...
Man this reminds me I need to get working on my backlog of games....but I'm still just replaying DS3 and Elden Ring
