- Today I present the ranking of every single Unique in Diablo 2, and I want you to know that this could be the most painful thing I've ever made. You've seen a top 10, but how about a top 379?

This video is a great analogy for diablo 2. Very fun in the beginning. Interesting enough to keep you watching until the sunk cost fallacy kicks in and you wake up from your daze thirteen years later still trying to get to griffons eye.

One weird and niche benefit of the Tan Do Li Ga (unique flail) is that its slow proc actually locks Baal so you can kill the boss for free. He won't move, cast spells, or even summon his clone as long as you literally just run up and slap him repeatedly for 4 minutes straight with this wet noodle of an item. So if you're leveling a HC char on normal/solo-find and find the item before Act 5 it's actually kinda sick.
Man i really wanna know what the designers were thinking with some of the stats. With normal items, the stats are randomized so it makes sense for them to have stupid illogical things. But the uniques really had someone go "yeah, i'll give this level 50 caster weapon with like 2 damage a life leech and + to attack rating, that will really make it shine".
Right I always get super triggered when a caster weapon has leech or attack rating.....like whyyyyy!!!!! Just faster cast rate and other crap like increased mana or something
Probably they wanted to make as many different items as you can... never know how the meta is gonna look like

Gull is actually amazing for a Blizz sorc, it's basically the poor mans Ali Baba, but because it has no dex requirement and it's MF isn't based off character level, so it's even better sometimes.
also easy to gamble at lvl11. (1-2000 roughly)
its garb. the gull dagger deserves to be in the garbage can unless ure just being nice to it

It makes sense given the criteria he went over. Goldwrap was low for same reason. He could have given an extra point for mf since most wanted modifier in the game but idk gull is pretty niche don't really need to make excuses for it not even best mf switch just easy to get early by gambling.

Deep knowledge game insight like this is what I come to the seer channel for.
Goldwrap is the best magic find belt with IAS which helps melee characters in clear speed, also only one of two belts that gives IAS. Besides ubers it's the only belt I use with any melee character.
Yeah, its like the mf (and ias) on belt has same weight as mf anywhere else. But it doesnt.

man you are just the best. i was honestly having a horrible day before somehow finding this amazing channel and after binging most of your videos i can genuinely say there is nothing else like them. the amount of heart and soul that you put into every one of them put's nearly every other content creator to shame, just keep doing what your doing man because its working!

Great video, lot of the items that have ENH damage can be useful since you can upgrade them to a higher tier. e.g I found Butcher's Pupil on my Zealer and upgraded it to exceptional as i played. was pretty useful and i finished the game with it.
This video turned out way more entertaining for it's length than I expected when you first announced it on Patreon ! Great work

Great list, and hilarious. I know you rated the mathematically by stats, and that's probably the easier, and more efficient way. But some I would rate much higher, for their niche uses.
Because they are the only items to fit the role. Or they are the best items within that role. For example chance guards / hotspur etc etc.
Hotspur is actually massively underrated, especially in Hardcore, where you just want to be invincible from everything you possibly can.
Rising Sun, Hotspurs, Twitchthroe are all amazing.
@rammpeth - I almost skipped the video entirely when he called Twitchthroe boring. It opens so many doors at level 16. And Hotspur + Nokozan Relic gives you 90% fire resist at level 10. "Pointless item"?

Hey Seer, you should do a list of the worst to best Super Unique Monsters in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Base it on creativity of the name, placement of the monsters, drops and difficulty of the monster.

Damn this took some work. The definitive unique ranking list I dare say.
Naw not even close, I think adding arbitrary values for mods is not a good method some stuff is wildly out of place.
Like bonehew being above reapers toll and OP comparing the two as being similar is just way off. 33% decrep on hit is a slow and half an amp damage, best Merc weapon in the game pretty much. Bonehew is charsi food. Many more examples but I’m not going to criticize the effort that went into making this, just that the methodology used for ranking is questionable.
You're kidding right? Goldwrap, one of the most used belts, one that can actually be traded for runes... decent runes early on in the ladder, and he put it sub 340.
There are a LOT of entirely useless uniques. This list is about as accurate as throwing them into a random list and reading them out.
Ranking uniques a good job mate. Challenging work, keeps you indoors. Guarantee you won't go hungry...because at the end of the day as long as there's two uniques in the stash, one of them is going to want the other one ranked.

25:25 this is _the best_ Summonmancer wand, i dont think Rares can get anywhere _close_ to that many + to skills, it has some weird caveats, but they are mostly never a real concern. combine it with a good necro head that covers the Arm's weaknesses like Homunculus or Darkforce Spawn and you got a pretty good setup there. if you're going full-blown summon psycho then definitely go for the Homunculus tho as cast rate will not be very useful to you and it can _still_ cover curses if for whatever reason as a summoner you decide to get a little crazy and dump 1 point into Amplify Damage
seriously, with +5 to raise skeleton and +5 to skeleton mastery, this is hands-down the wand that will buff your skeletons the most by a wide margin, +2 to summon resist will pretty much cover like 95% of all the summon resist you will ever need, and +2 clay golem and golem mastery is nothing to sneeze at either although not entirely needed, you really cant go wrong with this thing as a Summonmancer. as a bonus, it will also buff corpse explosion a bit too.
all that said, you will most likely never say to yourself "wow i am glad i have +5 to skeletal mage" tho.

It really is borderline impossible to have a machine teach you how good D2 items are, the general trend here is that any slot that has sockets is going to be way overvalued by the system, even the very best uniques are trashed by runewords, by comparison stuff like bloodfist gets used in endgame builds.
Also I'm partway through, but I'm about 99% sure CoA is gonna be at the top with how these things have been lining up.

I got into diablo 2 with one of the seasons on project diablo 2, first drop on there was a gimmershred and was so amazed at how it carried me on an a5 merc through farming pits and beyond, when I got into d2r, i was very disappointed to find out that a5 mercs cant equip gimmershred
I heard in one of the throw barb stream vods that he didn't like Occulus, but I've never seen the stats before. Now it makes sense. All those lovely attributes ruined by a 25% chance to probably die.

It was nice to see agreement with my opinion that Howltusk is the worst item in the game - it always surprises me when I look at it just how disappointed I am. And I picked up that crappy Crowbill on a MF run yesterday and immediately sold it - good to know the stats bear out that choice, too.

stoutnail is actually pretty good for it's level. You basically get free aoe damage for a good number of levels. Mobs will be killing themselves in 1-2 hits

you underrated steeldriver by a lot. only needing 85 strength for a martel de fer at lvl 29 is a gamechanger for most melee builds. it takes quite a while for it to fall off

when i play hardcore i like to have an emergency weapon on the side that either puts enemies in place or put me out of reach. some uniques seem tailored just for that purpose, but they shine less if you try to use them under any circumstance
i think knockback uniques are alright to put on the side when you find problematic enemies early on. it functions like a free stunlock if you can force them up against a wall, so its also good to use inside dungeons. you can use another weapon for outside open areas
for witherstring bow i would defend it by saying its a cheap stat weapon any class can use on the side when things get complicated early on, and the magic arrows mean you have unlimited ammo saving you inventory space or the need to pick up arrows after use. i am all for ranged costing absolutely nothing to use, whether thats ammo, mana or repair costs
only weapons that naturally give druid skills are exceptional and elite clubs, so i dont see the problem with earthshaker either other than it rarely drops. nevermind the knockback on that one
i think face of horror deserves to be on the bottom. if you had to use that one circumstantially you would have to waste 4 slot inventory space carrying it around. your build has to be tailored around willingly causing monsters to flee at all times, something even rangers would get annoyed over. for any weapons causing enemies to flee i would again just direct it to being crowd control potential within dungeons where they wont run far, but still do what they were meant for

An extremely good levelling helm for your merc with the low lvl and high + Str, not to mention a bit of all res. It can be outpaced in the slot by a 2 socketed rare Mechanic's helm with 2 perfect amethysts at 18th lvl but good luck finding one.

I think it would be so cool if certain items were designed around specific builds. Like an orb that gives +6 to blizzard and +4 to one of its synergies or whatever.
There literally are these kinds of items. What are you smoking? There are items, that give +X to specific skills or to all skills of one specific class or even single-handedly enable entire builds.
Just look at CtA, which gives you levels of Barbarian shout skills (yes, this item is mostly used as a buff source for various other builds, but still).
Look at The Oculus, giving the Sorceress +3 to ALL of her skills. Not just Blizzard or a synergy. All of them. Including Blizzard and all of its synergies. And every supporting skill like Warmth, Cold Mastery etc. That's what you are suggesting but even better, because it gives +x skills to all the skills you're using.
Look at the Dream runeword. You want to play a "Dream Paladin"? You need this. There is a specific build designed around this certain runeword. Basically what you are suggesting.
Jalal's Mane, giving +2 to all Druid skills and additionally +2 to all Shapeshifting skills. Meaning it is amazing for Druid Shapeshifting builds. So, to quote you...a "certain item"..."designed around specific builds"....
Also, number 158 in this video, Snowclash, is a belt, that specifically buffs Cold builds and Cold Sorc in particular. So, again, precisely what you're asking for. It, Arachnid Mesh, the Tal-Rasha set belt and Goldwrap (for its Magicfind) are the four most-used unique/set belts for that build.
Death's Fathom, a wand giving +3 to all skills (agsin, ALL of them; see my paragraph about the Oculus above on why that's good) and buffing cold skill damage and reducing enemy cold resist among various other things. Sometimes used by Cold Sorcs for its raw damage potential. Very rare to find though, IIRC.

@@ThorsShadow just because something gives plus shapeshifting skills doesn't mean it supports a SPECIFIC build, just a shapeshifting build. There are different variations you can go within each tree but there's usually just a best in slot item that covers like 90 percent of builds, rendering so many unique items and even rune words obsolete
4:28 i do like to give one of these to my a2 merc or a sorc(if not tanky enough) earlier in the game, good for raw stats
I haven't played D2 in a long time and I only got to Nightmare before giving up, but this definitely reminds me of how insane my friends were at it, especially when they would set up a bot for Pindleskin for hours on end to break the game. Gotta get that Holy Grail right?
A brutally hard task this one. Numerically I'm sure these rankings make sense. Stormshield, HoZ, death's web, titan's all these make sense being near the top. Nothing beats a perfect Eth Tomb carver with 3 sockets on a druid though.
Raven claw, along with a few fire damage charms and two pieces of cathan's set can power any hero through normal without having to invest a single skill point. I consider that to be of some use. =\
Raven Claw without any of that can also do that just fine.
yeah raven claw + twitchthroe is sick for leveling dude.
@@tylerm8145 I used to keep a set of deaths gloves, sash, raven claw, cthons, twitch, and duskdeep, mandals, and etlich for leveling. act 1 is a little slow , but deaths helps a lot for that, cthons lets you run forever (relatively) and then once you hit ravenclaw, then the rest, its an easy cruise through most of normal. had merc gear with greyform, a high res helm, and a high damage life steal pole axe.

@@tylerm8145 D2R was one of the worst gaming experiences I've had. Buggy, crashy, bad servers, didn't 'fix' so much of the things wrong with D2 that would have made the game much more enjoyable, and accessible to all players.
It was just a fucking flop.
The Dragon Chang dropped for me my first time playing diablo, and I was an amazon. I guess I had fun being an ant-like being for a time.
Venomward (upped) is actually decent for keeping merc alive during AT runs with Blizz Sorc.
Gull dagger is useful for casters as a good weapon for last-hitting bosses and killing weak mobs.

I'm not sure what's more sad. The fact I used Culwen's point on dual-wield barb up until Act 3 of Hell difficulty, or that the game didn't drop another good sword for me up until that point.
