Joe, please make a playlist for science episodes only. Thanks.
and more scientists pls! :D
and philosophy!
That is a good idea. To be honest, I only watch the science vids. I rarely watch the mma episodes or the other shit.
You're missing a lot of science when Eddie Bravo comes in mma episodes tho :P

Lol
Joe, thanks for having guests like this on your show. I love this stuff.
I have to echo this comment. So glad Joe is having guests like this on. Krauss is fantastic to listen to.
jerry crock
I love listening to him as well.
I love the joe rogan show. It educational yet entertaining and funny. Open minded and yet skeptical.
Its unique and at times mind blowing.
Great stuff to listen to!
I can see Lawrence Krauss aging into Professor Farnsworth from Futurama.
I can also picture him one day saying, "I no longer want to live on this planet anymore."
Joe: (asks question)
Krauss: (answers question)
Joe: "woooooow"
Krauss: "yh... isn't that amazing?"
Repeats 20-30 times
You can see the love of science in Krauss. It's almost like watching a child's amazement. A true lover of science. I love people like this
haha you nailed it, Joe "woooooow" Rogan
Normz thezoundman he is a great teacher, I love listening to his wit laced facts.
I like that Joe has enough sense to just shut up and listen. No offense meant, that's the right play. It must be kind of exhausting to have a 1 on 1 with him
Sean Carroll has exposed some of what Krauss says to be complete nonsense. I'd like to see those 2 have a conversation because I think Krauss is using language that can appeal to a broader audience and in doing so is getting the physics wrong as a byproduct of using that language.
^^ Can this stupid Islamic piece of shit please fuck off?
this is so far one of my favorite guest.
3 years plus later and still wanting some more Lawrence Krauss with Joe
even after knowing that krauss was deeply connected to epstein?
I love him, he is so nice to listen to! Smart, articulate and mischievously funny!
Very happy with this podcast. The conversation between Lawrence and Sam Harris is going to be incredibly interesting.
IvelLeCog when is that gonna happen and where? Haha
same question ^
It's in the pipeline it seems, It should be either the next episode of The Waking Up Podcast, or the one after that. I think there has been some reshuffling of the schedule recently.
“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”
Alvin Toffler
Man I feel like this quote fits in almost everyone of Joes podcasts.
I think we're long overdue a new Lawrence Krauss episode!
@Marquis De Sade Woah, what? Oh jeez. I'll have to do some Googlin' about that... 🤯😬
Update: Well, shit.
Nick Latham can you give us a quick overview on what that’s about??
a podcast with a man was fired for sexual misconduct, who received money from Epstein and defended him....
ermining1 Yes as you may have seen in my reply to Marquis De Sade I wasn’t aware of his involvement with Epstein, or his sexual misconduct.
@@helloitsnicko right? Just found this out... way to fuck yourself I guess.
Haha Lawrence was about to say “bullshit” but quickly changed to “ultimately wrong” 47:35

It sounds like it was cut
These shows have def opened my mind and much better than TV all around
TV sucks
if you like podcasts you should check out jimmy norton
Podcasts with scientists and fight companion is what keeps me coming back. Great job, Joe.
If you shut your eyes you can hear Rex from toy story talking about physics

He looks like him too, uglyboi

I Love these podcasts on Astrophysics, theoretical physics and quantum mechanics. They put reality into perspective and how minuscule/moronic the divisive issues plaguing society today are.

he had Brian Cox too
what episode was that?
hi... this is just ' scientism ' Research Flat Earth.. Eddie Bravo knows it !
Lla derat Definitely agree with you. These sceintists and colourfull guys like Alex Jones or Steven Greer, Jon Ronson are amongst my favourite episodes. The sceince episodes are damn interesting and educational, Jones and Greer are or total nutheads or damn good, but interesting anyway, and guys like Ronson just great storytellers with their own ways of thinking. I'm all in for less comedians or fighters and more sceince and conspiracy !
Flat Earth no
LOL, Krauss's knowledge & patience seems to be as unlimited, as Joe's ability to come up with new questions :'D
This is one of the best episodes I’ve seen on JRE can’t believe I missed it when it came out.
I study physics and I'm in the midst of doing my midterm exams... Just before listening to this, I felt like dropping out of the program I am so mentally wiped out right now! Hahaha!! But listening to Lawrence Krauss is reigniting my love of physics :-)
Even though i am a week late to reply, i hope you did well!

I love how Lawrence is passionate about science and Joe's curiosity.
They make the best scientists
First 30 mins, I was absolutely scratching my head waiting for something. Glad I kept listening. I love when these type of guest come on. I would love Joe having more science guest. And/Or having more science debates like the episode with Graham Hancock, Randall Carlson, and Michael Shermer, that was great.
It’s been too long! get this man back on the podcast
No way. He fried my brain lol
He's disgraced by sexual misconduct allegations now lol. Not sure if Joe will bring him back

SJW drama is hot right now
@@Tmoney7994 Sometimes allegations are just that. Absolutely ridiculous how the system is so in favor of "guilty until proven innocent" instead of "innocent unless proven guilty"
Joe just gave a theoretical physicist a chance to educate for 2.5 hours in front of 300k youtube views and probably over a million downloads.
I don't think any other media place can do that for science and were lucky to have Joe.
Joe is the man
This is absolutely correct!!!
I feel happily educated.
The amount of shit I’ve learned from listening to a comedians podcast is astounding.
"For those that dont believe in gravity, walk out the window of the 13th floor and test your theory. and do it before you reproduce" -LK ...... best ever
So true but the only problem is the "edgy braaa crew" will repeat the Flat Earth motto of "you would still fall bc your body's mass is heavier than the air braaaaaaa, not gravity, duhhhhhhh..release a helium balloon out that same window and it'll float, where's the gravity braaaaa?!?" 😔💣💥
BroFroAnoMoFo HIP HOP Ya man Flat Earthers are crazy af
BroFroAnoMoFo HIP HOP Are you kidding? You are right! You can’t be serious?....... if you are go back to school. If this was a joke that was some funny shit!!!
And when the helium escapes the balloon it falls back to earth
I don’t know what the fuck we live on. But, gravity is just a theory. You gotta know that. Not even a good theory if you actually think about it. My point being is, no need to make fun of flat earthers. If you looked into flat earth there are some definite arguments of what we’ve all been taught. I’ll tell you what. I’m now convinced we have all been lied to on a grand scale. I’m not saying I believe either way. I’m not pickin a text fight here by all means. Just some understanding for those who believe in flat earth. There is now 10s of millions and growing fast who believe in flat earth. They can’t all be nuts....can they.
lawrence "its really neat" krauss... XD one of the best episodes of JRE Ive watched, Lawerences passion is so capitavating.

Maybe we can have it with AI in the future, after all we have lots and lots of recordings of his thoughts.
This is definitely the most listen on repeat episode ever, I left this comment after I came back for the 5'th time now or more
Gravity test - "Jump out the window on the 13th floor. And do it before you reproduce." LMAO!
1:08:20
kind of funny but pretty fucked up too
Lightning not sure about that unless ur a flatty
I understand it's a joke, but saying that people who don't understand science need to kill themselves and not reproduce isn't particularly funny. Most people aren't beyond redemption
Lightning-- Lawrence Krauss seems to be one of those scientists who has zero tolerance for religion, like Richard Dawkins. I think it comes out mean but he wholeheartedly believes religion is ruining our world. That kind of passion makes him fearless with his words so he's not afraid of what others think.
I hope you didn't take him personally. He means well.

MmmHmm yes, that is why it takes him 30 minutes to repeatedly go over something that a highschool student could learn in 5 minutes max.
Put it this way: I'd rather Joe ask Krauss too many questions, rather than too few.
Krauss is one of my favourite scientists.Loved his books
Lawrence Krauss is a bunch of atoms that have spent their existence trying to understand how atoms work
vehmic exactly, we are the universe being aware of itself in these different forms
So basically, a bunch of atoms(me) are reading a comment on a bunch of atoms(my phone) written by a bunch of atoms (you) about a bunch of atoms(krauss) spending its life studying another bunch of atoms. Dang! That's a lot of atoms. 🤣
ka boom!! Exactly and not one group of atoms actually fully knows how atoms work yet
@@markdelej science is so damn fun dude! Like the other day I was thinking how they say 90% of an atom is nothing but empty space, cuz electron n protons only occupy small space. So even though we are solid but still we are hollow. Crazy!
ka boom!! Well i did my undergrad degree in physics and that 90% of atoms being empty space is not true. It is just something people always say to try show that science is amazing but is not really the case. At the scale of an atom protons and neutrons are in the centre and around them is a electron “cloud”. This cloud is like the electron is smeared out into all places at once, and each position around the nucleus has a probability associated with the electron being there. But while nothing is measuring the electron, it is in a super position of all possible locations around the nucleus (like a smeared out wave/cloud). So when you see an atom drawn on paper of an electron orbiting a nucleus like the way planets orbit the sun, that is not real at all. However when you do measure the position of an electron round a nucleus, all possible positions will collapse, except one, where it will seem the electron is in one position. If you go on google images and type in “electron cloud” it will give you a better picture of an atom. Then type in “electron orbitals” and that will show you the complex shapes that electron clouds can be in. That is much more realistic to what is going on.
The simple picture of an atom with electrons orbiting around like planets is still very useful for scientists as it simplifies the picture and we can still calculate and predict things from that picture, so it is a simple model, but is not actually real.
Been waiting for years for Lawrence Krauss on JRE. Made my day for sure!!!!

Orbital Bonghit using Science to prove god is like using a hammer as a microscope
+Contexual Harassment Science is our best possible means of discerning concrete objective truth within our epistemic limits. If a god exists, science will help us find it. Of course, if you define god in such a way as to make it unfalsifiable, you might as well drop the idea altogether...
It is unwise to insist upon a literal interpretation of figurative statements of which the inaccuracy may, at any moment, be rendered evident by the progress of scientific discovery; but the fundamental propositions of religion, so far from having anything to fear from the discoveries of science, are strengthened and ennobled by being brought into harmony with those discoveries. And it is only when the religious sentiment shall have been enlightened by its union with scientific truth that religious belief, thus rendered invulnerable to the attacks of skepticism, will take the place of skepticism in the minds and hearts of men.

I really have no idea why over a thousand people disliked this podcast. Someone help me speculate what rustled these people's jimmies?
I didn't downvote it but It's probably because this guy talks in circles and the way he spoke was relatively annoying. I enjoyed the content still but it was pretty hard to listen to.
This gentleman is a well known atheist/agnostic and refuses to believe anything without evidence.
LA Waitress Yet the religious tend to argue that everything that is worth knowing can be found in a single book...
Alejandro, your reply to LA Waitress make no sense at all. I thought your original comment was about people and their reason for disliking the podcast. I'm not sure how you went from her saying this guy acts like he knows everything to talking about religious beliefs.
Alejandro Betancourt You must be new to the internet....
Amazing guest, watched when this came out and rewatched this evening. Pre-ordered Degrasse-Tyson's new book "Astrophysics for people in hurry" (here on mon/tues). Was looking at related books and saw him co-authoring with with Krauss and someone else and will be reading this after. Prior to these podcasts I had much less understanding (near as much an interest) and am now very much looking forward to understanding these concepts with the simplicity these gentlemen are able to convey them to me to (with the understanding they fully understand them). Ideas that will blow my mind simply, "so amazing you couldn't make them up." To paraphrase a cliche statement.
Truly hope Joe keeps getting guests like this on occasionally (or more than occasionally) because he's able to conceive of and ask questions I wish I could have thought to ask a mind like Krauss, where I might think I would but would be at a loss sitting down with him, Joe's interested for everybody listening and learning constantly himself.
Can't tell if Joe is too high or not high enough for this.
"We never know what we won't be able to explain..." Genius!
