Thanks man ! I’ve always loved the ortiental Side of karate, the eastern Asian side of Muay Thai/lethwei, but that show “Human Weapon” ironically delivers a key message when it shows those two grey guys performing the moves: We really are just meat skeletons launching our bones at each other on earths gravity. All other stuff around martial arts is kind of “man made” despite it being awesome to be into
Thanks man I try I try 😅 a lot of what I know was my last decades experience and just took me time to learn to articulate in words. Stay tuned for more 💪🏻
It is a lot harder to do than it looks. Maybe it's just me but the temptation to flap at strikes was a problem for quite a while, especially when your in a safe sparring environment and you know you can get away with it.
Oh yeah 100% brother. It’s deff a concept where you have to have faith in it before it works in real time. For me I didn’t mention in the video but a way to bridge the gap between “shadow defense” and using an active guard in sparring is definitely slow and controlled partner drills -> almost full speed partner drills. Also a hidden benefit is holding mitts for VERY large people. Something about that just gets you use to having shots come at you full speed Keep training hard 🙏🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
I’ll cover the long guard more in a Part 2 where I m going to have gloves on. As far as punching, if you fight palms open yeah you close the hands upon impact. It takes practice but a great way is to infront of a mirror with 1 pounds dumbbells and throw punches. It trains you to have to clench in the last second. Some people will just fight with their hand tense at all times which is fine, but it burns more energy due to forearm tension
The first 20 seconds should be wrote in stone for generations to learn. Good stuff dude for real
Thanks man !

🙏🏻 thank you
Can you do a video on the long guard? And when I punch do I punch on impact or tense my fist before impact?
I’ll cover the long guard more in a Part 2 where I m going to have gloves on.

It sounds really interesting

Another non fighter trying to tell people how to fight. This world has completely gone to shit.
Sorry man, Yknow I’ve only fought Muay Thai infront of hundreds of people and sparred with open division boxers lol . But heck what would I know 😂
