So much can still be gleaned online in this day and age brother. It is in the training and practice of that which is taught that one assimilates the knowledge into skill.
Although it is not the same as having actual one to one training, still much progress can be made, and we get to gain insights from the champions, and highly accomplished martial artists and boxers.

Tbh I was just talking to a buddy the other day about why Gabriel Varga is one of my favorite fighters, and this was really the thing I kept coming back to. Gabriel's defense is so good. Other fighters might have more knockouts or more brutal destruction's of their opponents or whatever, but as a hobbyist the thing I aspire to is Gabriel's defense. I want to be able to keep myself safe and continue doing the hobby I love for years to come.

This was an important video for me. I just completed 6 or 7 sparring sessions, 3 mma, 2 boxing and 2 mt. I have zero problem entering and hitting interesting angles and combos. I'm good at not hesitating. My issue was getting timed and tagged on the way in. Remembering my defense on "the way out" as was discussed first I think is a critical element for me.

Love the vid. Something I did that did wonders for me when I was learning how to box. Was really simple. I would do sparring rounds, and I would warn my partners about this, that i'll just go an entire round only blocking or dodging, or counter hitting. I feel when you are working on a fundamental, just spending a couple weeks only on that fundamental does wonders for you in learning it faster.
Study Vods, put extra focus on it in your sparring, do some drills that involve blocks, if your commit and train right, you will improve.

The element of unpredictability is still there, or at least more than if you just use your own hands - which is very predictable and won't really work for that reason.
