Play as Link, travel through Hyrule to rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon (or bad guy equivalent), after going through multiple similarly-themed temples, oftentimes with Seven Sages that have the exact same names across different games (or those same names are used for different characters or locations instead.) I guess the main difference is series like Mario and Zelda have more mainline games that try to shake things up a little more than Pokemon does? Like how 3D Mario and 3D Zelda are a thing. On top of having more spin-offs.
well there are baseline similarities ofc but what makes each game unique is the different Pokemon the lore of the region and the diverse characters and the lore of each game as well as features and stuff

Overleveling is the only way I beat Cynthia in BDSP and ive played since the first gen (and am also An Adult). Prior to that i spent hours trying to beat her to no avail. Huh, Galactic is my favorite team and Plasma is one of my least favorites. Also, Star isnt an evil team and that's sort of the point of their storyline. The old headmaster and his unnamed deputy are the villains of their plot. Not that the game didnt have a region-destroying villain but...y'know, since you avoided the spoilers so will I. XY weren't BAD just...not great. Now THAT series has my least favorite evil team. If you play a game set in Alola, please please please make it base Sun or Moon. Ultra rewrote the plot in some baaaaaaad ways

Honestly, Let's Go ain't bad. People just hated on it because it was the first mainline Pokemon game on Switch and it felt more like a 3DS game than a next-gen console Pokemn game, people were tired of Kanto, and it was watered down for Go fans. Honestly, that last reason was a dealbreaker for me, until Sword & Shield came out and that sounded like an even bigger disappointment, so I decided to just go with Let's Go and I absolutely adored it. (Just don't abuse the candy system.)

Yeah, I forget dual types. Luckily the singular ones are logical like birds eating insects (flying > bug), or ranged beating physical (psychic / flying > fighting) or fairytale knight defeats the evil dragon (fairy > dragon), you get the idea. 😅

Alpha Sapphire is part of Pokémon X's generation, so evidently that generation isn't so bad now is it? :) I don't understand the hate on gen 6. As a longtime fan, I have to disagree. Sure Black and White had a very interesting premise, with characters in the game calling you out on what you're doing as a trainer. But they fumbled the ending, because after we defeat Ghetsis, N is like "Nevermind, I was completely wrong, forget I ever said anything", even though the whole thing that made Team Plasma and N's message hit is that, maybe they had a point. But no just forget about all that, no need to put your position in question. You've always been right and you will never be anything else but right, because you're the protagonist. Meanwhile OrAs has the Delta episode, which revolves around Zinnia who is dealing with the grief of losing someone dear to her. And she can't take the time to properly grieve because as the Lorekeeper, it's her duty to summon Rayquaza to stop the meteroid from destroying the world. She literally has the weight of the world on her shoulders, all the while she's still dealing with the loss of Aster. It's so much that she literally has suicidal ideation, which is not something I ever thought we'd have in a Pokémon game. And the Delta Episode also adresses the atrocities that the Devon Corporation commits, and Steven's hypocrisy about the whole situation... And the ending doesn't say "You were right all along, go you". The ending shows that things are messy, and complicated. But that step by step, they're getting better. Finishing the Delta Episode didn't fix everyone's problems, but it's a step in the right direction, and it shows that even if things aren't good in the world, it's okay. Because things are getting better, one step at a time. And that's such a hopeful message. So basically Delta Episode > Black and White. Though I don't know why they changed Archie and Maxie in base OrAs. In Ruby and Sapphire, they only wanted to expand the sea/land to an extent, but not flood/dry up the entire world. Of course that's still a bad thing, but they're genuinly well-meaning idiots who don't realize what they're doing is not a good thing. They really think that it would help. So when they unleash the legendary and it's gonna flood/dry up the entire world, they understand and they're like "Oh sh*t ! We messed up !" But in OrAs, they do want to flood/dry up the entire world in order to reset it basically. But when they unleash the legendary, they're still saying "Oh no, it's too much ! It's not what I wanted !" What do you mean ??? How can there be too much when your goal is too flood/dry up everything ??? It doesn't really make sense anymore if you ask me.
If this helps, there is some depth that could reframe your view on N's ending. It's okay if this doesn't convince you, but I think it's important to provide context when I see someone may not have it. N likely leaves to move on from Ghetsis's abuse, explaining his reasoning behind rejecting the ideals he's been indoctrinated from birth into having. Ghetsis uses a genuinely interesting talking point to create a corrupted political movement, regardless of whether the point they were making had some merit or not. It's commentary on politicians twisting messages to garner control and power. N rejecting truth or ideals is a rebellion against the 'hero' role he was given, because in the end he realized that he had become a martyr for someone else's attempt at world domination. Not for his own ideals or truth. Reexamining one's beliefs at that point and healing from the situation is the best thing he could have done at that moment for himself and for the world. If he continued to lead Team Plasma down this path, it's likely that one of the seven sages would attempt to take control just like Ghetsis did. So it's better to shut everything down, and the only person that can do that is the King of Team Plasma, someone the organization will listen to over some shadow leader. Of course, we see this doesn't fully work in the next game, but it does splinter Ghetsis's forces considerably as he goes from taking over the league by using the system against them fairly to terrorism using weapons of mass destruction as he slips away from having an organized plan for taking over the world.

That's not true. In the code, it's confirmed that Professor Oak was champion before Blue. That's why Oak is randomly there after.

How is May more annoying than Brendan ? I had May as a rival as a kid and she was very supportive. And then I tried playing as May and Brendan was like "I guess you're okay". He's more blunt and I feel like he kinda looks down on me. I mean at the end of the day, they're both supportive, but I don't see how May is more or less annoying than Brendan.

Overleveling is the only way I beat Cynthia in BDSP and ive played since the first gen (and am also An Adult). Prior to that i spent hours trying to beat her to no avail.
Huh, Galactic is my favorite team and Plasma is one of my least favorites. Also, Star isnt an evil team and that's sort of the point of their storyline. The old headmaster and his unnamed deputy are the villains of their plot. Not that the game didnt have a region-destroying villain but...y'know, since you avoided the spoilers so will I.
XY weren't BAD just...not great. Now THAT series has my least favorite evil team.
If you play a game set in Alola, please please please make it base Sun or Moon. Ultra rewrote the plot in some baaaaaaad ways

For Cynthia I used Mothim with Quiver Dance and for some reason the Spiritomb will spam Sucker Punch and do nothing letting you sweep her at x6 Quiver Dance’s

Honestly, Let's Go ain't bad. People just hated on it because it was the first mainline Pokemon game on Switch and it felt more like a 3DS game than a next-gen console Pokemn game, people were tired of Kanto, and it was watered down for Go fans. Honestly, that last reason was a dealbreaker for me, until Sword & Shield came out and that sounded like an even bigger disappointment, so I decided to just go with Let's Go and I absolutely adored it. (Just don't abuse the candy system.)
No joke my fav pkmn game is SV, BW close second, I liked what SV had to offer, and they gave a free mew, when I got the game.(I love my little Mew), and I think the pokemon themselves were fairly unique

In pokemon ultra sun and moon for the post game you have to fight a group called rainbow rocket they are team rocket from a universe were they win and all of the other games evil team leaders are from universe's where they win.

if it makes you feel better, most of us fans also forget some of the type match ups even tho we've been playing the games for years lmao. when i play gen 2 and 3 games i keep forgetting they were before the physical special split in gen 4. so i end up losing a mon by accident sometimes.
Yeah, I forget dual types. Luckily the singular ones are logical like birds eating insects (flying > bug), or ranged beating physical (psychic / flying > fighting) or fairytale knight defeats the evil dragon (fairy > dragon), you get the idea. 😅
would reccomend playing Black 2 aswell since you enjoyed Black. Black 2 is direct sequel (the only one they did in the franchise) and not a third version

but because I honestly see no reason BDSP should ever be played over the more polished Platinum... or even ORAS over Emerald...tho ORAS is surely an easier entry into the series, it just has nothing on Emerald as a definitive interpretation of a Hoenn adventure 😅
Would recommend Emerald as a future playthrough basically, cause it's surprisingly differenr from ORAS
Bdsp is misunderstood it may not have had platinum content but it did add it’s own new stuff like expanded underground, updated qol, modern type chart, modern movepool, ramanas park etc and it’s got wholesome vibes
Also Ilca is more experienced now
It was loved by the mainstream casual audience
The more hardcore fans may not have liked it but they weren’t the target audience
The game was designed to be an approachable game for beginner players so they had to make it look as cute and as welcoming as possible hence the chibi appearance
Bdsp added more new content than platinum tho
It’s got the up to date type chart as well as the move pools
It completely overhauled the underground
It gave us the hardest elite four and champion out of any pokemon game
We got ramanas park
It’s got clothing customization as well
It removed the hassle of HMs
It’s way faster not slow anymore
How are all these new things not considered definitive
Sure platinum added its own stuff but to say bdsp didn’t add anything when it added a lot is pretty disingenuous

I don't understand the hate on gen 6. There was some real work on the mechanics, and the region design is fine. Gen 8 is way worse on all aspects.

As a longtime fan, I have to disagree.
Sure Black and White had a very interesting premise, with characters in the game calling you out on what you're doing as a trainer.
But they fumbled the ending, because after we defeat Ghetsis, N is like "Nevermind, I was completely wrong, forget I ever said anything", even though the whole thing that made Team Plasma and N's message hit is that, maybe they had a point.
But no just forget about all that, no need to put your position in question. You've always been right and you will never be anything else but right, because you're the protagonist.
Meanwhile OrAs has the Delta episode, which revolves around Zinnia who is dealing with the grief of losing someone dear to her.
And she can't take the time to properly grieve because as the Lorekeeper, it's her duty to summon Rayquaza to stop the meteroid from destroying the world.
She literally has the weight of the world on her shoulders, all the while she's still dealing with the loss of Aster. It's so much that she literally has suicidal ideation, which is not something I ever thought we'd have in a Pokémon game.
And the Delta Episode also adresses the atrocities that the Devon Corporation commits, and Steven's hypocrisy about the whole situation...
And the ending doesn't say "You were right all along, go you". The ending shows that things are messy, and complicated. But that step by step, they're getting better.
Finishing the Delta Episode didn't fix everyone's problems, but it's a step in the right direction, and it shows that even if things aren't good in the world, it's okay. Because things are getting better, one step at a time. And that's such a hopeful message.
So basically Delta Episode > Black and White. Though I don't know why they changed Archie and Maxie in base OrAs. In Ruby and Sapphire, they only wanted to expand the sea/land to an extent, but not flood/dry up the entire world.
Of course that's still a bad thing, but they're genuinly well-meaning idiots who don't realize what they're doing is not a good thing. They really think that it would help.
So when they unleash the legendary and it's gonna flood/dry up the entire world, they understand and they're like "Oh sh*t ! We messed up !"
But in OrAs, they do want to flood/dry up the entire world in order to reset it basically. But when they unleash the legendary, they're still saying "Oh no, it's too much ! It's not what I wanted !"
What do you mean ??? How can there be too much when your goal is too flood/dry up everything ??? It doesn't really make sense anymore if you ask me.
If this helps, there is some depth that could reframe your view on N's ending. It's okay if this doesn't convince you, but I think it's important to provide context when I see someone may not have it. N likely leaves to move on from Ghetsis's abuse, explaining his reasoning behind rejecting the ideals he's been indoctrinated from birth into having. Ghetsis uses a genuinely interesting talking point to create a corrupted political movement, regardless of whether the point they were making had some merit or not. It's commentary on politicians twisting messages to garner control and power. N rejecting truth or ideals is a rebellion against the 'hero' role he was given, because in the end he realized that he had become a martyr for someone else's attempt at world domination. Not for his own ideals or truth. Reexamining one's beliefs at that point and healing from the situation is the best thing he could have done at that moment for himself and for the world. If he continued to lead Team Plasma down this path, it's likely that one of the seven sages would attempt to take control just like Ghetsis did. So it's better to shut everything down, and the only person that can do that is the King of Team Plasma, someone the organization will listen to over some shadow leader. Of course, we see this doesn't fully work in the next game, but it does splinter Ghetsis's forces considerably as he goes from taking over the league by using the system against them fairly to terrorism using weapons of mass destruction as he slips away from having an organized plan for taking over the world.
@@greyscaleadaven I guess but also N uses Poké Balls, even though he says he's against their use. And at the end of the day, there's still nobody that acknowledges that Team Plasma may have had a point with their idea. Heck, sure Ghetsis was lying and a lot of Grunts are rotten, but some of them were good people who genuinly thought this was what they needed to do.
I love that she spotlights overlooked mons it’s very different from other trainers and it makes her team one of a kind and unique and it sets her apart as someone who does the samething with their teams she has my heart for that

In ORAS the exp share is a Toggle so u could have turned it off if u wanted something more challenging
