I have smaller hands, but with the macros set as far back as they go it fits perfectly and I dont need to try stretching across my keyboard or stop moving for minor things. Question for you. I don't know if you still have and use this mouse, but if you were to rest the full weight of your fingers, while in a palm grip, on the left and right click buttons, does the right click button support the weight of your middle finger without constantly clicking on its own? I've tried a lot of different mice, and so far Logitech is the only brand that consistently provides enough click actuation force to support my middle finger without constantly clicking.
It is super frustrating that the software is not that great for this mouse. iCue software has frozen on update for me a few times now. Hey Andy. Comparing this mouse to the naga, which one has the better side buttons ? Heard that on this one it's easier to accidentally press more than on button...
I have used the naga trinity and this mouse and i have to say apart from naga breaking and not being able to hold the click within a year, the side buttons are better, the scimitar is too low down so my thumb just drags along my mouse mat which isnt very comfortable and the buttons are much bigger so i end up misclicking but i hope it's just my muscle memory from the naga as i have just switched.

MASSIVELY disappointed with the iCUE software - utterly ruins the use of the K95 and Scimitar (and other corsair products) I bought assuming, wrongly, they would be easy, logically and practiclly set up. I dont even see why this gimping is implemented its a negative and benefits no one - corsair dont gain anything from this and nor do we.
Just letting everyone know that 2 years later, it appears this issue has been fixed. I got the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite Wired MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse. Installed the software, changed the settings to store all settings in the mouse own memory, set everything up including Macros. After this I disabled the software from Startup and rebooted my computer. After reboot everything works exactly as I set it up without any of the software needing to be run. All recorded keystroke Macros work too.
im thinking of buying this one but im scared for double clicks or right click not holding , the rubber part comming loose of sweaty palms ... can you comfort me this won't happen ?
Using scimitar pro until now (3 years) and RMA 4 times, left and right click get crazy clicking just only hold 1 click ALL of them, and scroll wheel broken only once, got elite and STILL broken but bit better 1 rma, 3 generation with same broken such idiot product
Hi ! Thank you so much for this great video ! Noob question here : can you program the settings of the keypad for other programs on your pc like Cubase ? Or it HAS TO work with mmorpg only ? Thank for your reply !
Yeah, you should be able to assign the side buttons in the cubase keybind settings. I will say I have never worked with Cubase, but I have used other programs Blender, Unity and have easily assigned mouse mmo buttons as keybinds directly in the program settings. I will say, that the program recognises the mouse MMO 1-12 as numpad so you can't have seperate keybinds for both mouse numpad and keyboard numpad. Unless you add a Shift, Ctrl or ALT. So Shift + numpad 1 etc
I'm looking for an excuse to get this to compliment my M65 Ultra and K100 in case I play MMORPGs, but I can't think of any. From my experience these different side buttons are as bothersome to press as keyboard keys, unless you play a slower, old style tab-targeting one with dozens of hotbars maybe.
I have a corsair scimitar. Hate the fact that the middle mouse button doesn't have a tilt feature compared to the G600 from Logitech. I've remapped the dpi and rgb buttons to act as the middle tilt, but they're pretty far out of the way and you have to reposition your hand to push them.
I used razor products for years without really trying different ones like steelseries corsair etc ,Recently my razer products started to see ware and tear,I found that my razer huntsman hand rest started to ware away and both my naga chroma and trinity buttons started to fail on the right mouse button clicking and holding down, I have since got a steerseries KB and a scimitar mouse and the different is night and day. I will never use razer again as these new products are so much better build and more comfortable to use etc.It is also Cheaper win win.
Not sure if anyone's gonna answer but I'll give it a try: Those who have this mouse: How loud are the clicks? I just bought myself a razer naga trinity and I'll probably send it back as the clicks are so loud it drives me crazy...
so this video unfortunately doesnt answer the question i had, i've been using the pro version and that it's build quality is TRASH the scroll wheel sucks and the left mouse button double clicks ALOT after 1 year or so. So i would have like so see if there were any differences from the pro version but i guess ill have to look elsewhere
the software sucks, the remapping for the g buttons dont even work. ive tried to remap the g buttons to fit certain buttons on my keyboard and it doesnt even register, for non of the remapping options. such sophisticated software for nothing. the mouse is great but the software is ridiculous and there is no use in the mouse if you cant use the damn g buttons that are placed on the side.
Still no wireless, still no mouse wheel tilt clicks. For the price its not bad, but the naga pro is honestly better in every way if you can swallow the cost of it.
I only wish the cable was replaceable (seems to be the main issue why my wired mice die) but I guess at this price point I cant complain too much. I was looking for a replacement for my ancient Razer Naga (2014)
I want to like the Scimitar - But I just can't get over not having a place to rest my thumb, without risking accidentally hitting a key. I'm glad to return to my Harpoon instead.
I’ve had the glaive pre for a couple of years now, I love it. The only reason I’m looking for a new mouse is because I just can’t seem to find an MMO setup that works for me, so I’m opting for more buttons. I’ve just purchased the scimitar elite and the only thing I don’t like is the lack of a thumb rest. I don’t like the feeling of my thumb sliding across the mousepad when I’m not using key binds. Otherwise I like it a lot!
I love mmo mouses, they are the best, I can't live without one now. I have a Logitech G600 which i use for a long time and it finally started to get a easy to fix defect, but you know, I love wasting my money, so I'm thinking of buying that mouse instead of fixing my mouse, which woudl take 15 minutes at best.
Oooh, been looking for a good MMO mouse for work. I have a Redragon Perdition (super budget brand), but the MMB doesn't work nicely anymore. 12 shortcuts at my thumbtip vs moving my left hand all over the keyboard really helps for productivity.
Well numpad mouse changed my gaming too i got some from logitech that unfortunataly stopped working so now im looking for replacement and my you sold it to me.
I’ve been playing with the scimitar series for 5 years and it’s perfect, I don’t even play MMOS I play competitive CSGO primarily, though most people make fun of me for this giant ass mouse 😂
I have the scimitar pro which ive used for years, used the corsair first version before that. My pro, the right mouse button started to fail so i bought a Scimitar elite. I mainly play mmo games and i can't live without the 12 side buttons. However. The elite. The right mouse button is so sensitive that it clicks by just having my finger resting on it. So while scrolling on the internet etc. i constantly press right click and get the right click menu up. The side buttons also feel a lot more sensitive as i kept missclicking them while playing wow. You might say that i just need to get used to it. but ive used this mouse for years. Its no problem with the pro and its the exact same shape and size. So my question is. Is my elite faulty ? is the buttons supposed to be this sensitive that they get depressed by my neighbour letting out a fart ? I can even tense up a bit on the pro without clicking the buttons, but the elite just clicks on its own if i just think about a mouse click
Looks like and sounds exactly like the pro with a different name. Unless it does things that even cheap mice like my spare one, the Redragon Perdition, or my old one, the Razer Naga, as in be able to save the full profiles to the mouse so you have no need for the iCue bloatware unless you need to change, and they have made the wheel more robust and less of a dust magnet that causes the button to play up, then its just a Scimitar RGB Pro. Even if it has a sensor upgrade to a higher dpi, that doesn't fix the real problems with these mice (I am on my 3rd thanks to the crappy wheel but I am a fan which is why I still buy them or don't just stick to the Redragon one).
How do people use these buttons accurately in the heat of combat? I know i couldn´t utilize them all perfectly and hence i wish for a version with 3-4 distinct thumb buttons you can macro with a keyboard key. That would be useful.
4 buttons = macro 1 action in games so you'll get like 3 or 4 buttons on the whole keypad depending how u use, but i also turn off macros to use as most comfortable thumb rest that flexes so no cramps!
Been switching between Scimitar Pro and Logitech G600 for years however, these days I use the Logitech simply because no additional software required. Without iCue software the numpad doesnt function whereas G600 defaults the keys to a standard Numpad. Don't get me wrong, Scimitar is a great mouse and I suspect his one improves it, it's just that iCue tends to be so inconsistent between releases, and Corsair try to pack so much into it that I prefer to go with G600 purely for consistency.
On my pro version it works perfectly fine both on my laptop and desktop and only have icue on my desktop as have corsair fans and aio ect installed and it remembers my profiles and keypad bindings perfectly fine no issues had mine over a year and never had any issues with it
So...... after 5 years since the first version release, with 3 version out now, but still no left and right tilt scroll wheel? Thats seem lazy to me, ill pass.
I picked this up after my roccat nyth right click finally died. It's amazing how small this mouse is compared to the Nyth and other mmo mice. I like being able to change the position of the keys on the side. The keys themselves are slightly mushy. I'm trying to configure the keys but there is no default num key options? Having to program this is going to be a pain. Speaking of pain my arm and the right side of my hand ache. I guess the Nyth spoiled me. I think this mouse might be going back. I'm going to give it a good try for a couple more days.
@@Odseus I am using the nyth and it is doing well but I am preparing for the day it will stop working. So checking ebay, corsair, razer, logitech, etc.
@@indyjoe6 i fix it by soom vidoes and tabed part to it fix it for year then i buyied elite vers and thad solve proplem for ever becous if u open up elite has better plastic
@Ray It's also a bit lighter. The weight of the Pro was a deal breaker for me, but Elite is just the right weight (about the same as Razer Naga, which I replaced with Scimitar).
I'm thinking about replacing my mouse and I'm pretty interested in this one, but my concern is: will the side keypad be a problem if I play some MOBAs or FPS? I'm worried I'll accidentally click the numbers lol
Just a thought- couldn't you set up a profile for different types of games and within that profile, set the button to do nothing? Seems like that would solve your worry, but I don't actually own the mouse, so I can't say if that's how it works.
got it and used it for casual play not using the side much then i used it for 1 day of mmorpg gameplay and the bottom buttons all became jammed, its piece of trash
I never understand people who use these. This is a mouse, a tool for cursor movement. Even if you want more keys you should spread them for other fingers, then you can easier "attach" each action to finger and its movement in your memory. Up to 4 for thumb, 3 for pointer, 2 for middle finger and maybe 1 for 4th finger. Its a matter of muscle memory. Analogy: its easier to use keyboard with one finger buts is much more efficient to use all hand and spread letters to all of them. But keyboard is statick and mouse is in movement, pointing things thus for brain its even harder. And finally, most of the time people dont need additional buttons but reorganisation of existing ones.
Each person has their own preferences I find this extremely useful and makes my work a lot easier and faster instead of remembering shortcuts when I can just press a single key that does it for me work smarter not harder
my guess is you've never played mmorpgs, or you've never played them "properly". when you're trying to circle strafe and attack at the same time you need your left hand on the WASD and your right hand moving the camera while holding down the right click. now unless you have a 3rd hand for clicking on your skills you're out of luck... OR you can get one of these mice. then you configure 12 skills on the side and then set modifiers with ctr/alt/shift which you can be holding down while moving with WASD, suddenly the 12 buttons on the side are... 48! on the other hand a mouse with so many buttons can help you in daily worklfows, in my default profile for example i have cut/copy/paste/forward/back/refresh/lock screen etc and i can do anything i want with the click of a button, the more the better! i got used to mine within a week, it's like driving, you don't think about it after a while, you just get in and go. the mouse WAS "a tool for cursor movement" on '73 that it came out, nowadays we have complicated workflows (video editing/photo editing - countless macros) and games and we need the right tools to be better and more productive at what we do.
I'm used to controller on console using my right hand for buttons so it helps in dayz to switch weapons and lean using the keypad and only using my left hand for movement
I use my MMO mouse for everything. For shooters, I use the numpad for everything related to abilites like reload, flashbang, grenades, healing, etc which frees up my left hand for controling movement only (WASD, sprint, crouch, jump). *SignalRGB* It enables keyboard/mice etc led to react to audio unlike iCue that only enables corsairs headphones to react to leds - so good luck enjoying seeing those leds flash to music as you WEAR THEM !!
No review of the actual numbpad? Clicking? MOBA dream, huh?
looks very nice mouse but sorry i love my wireless corsair mouse, will look at this again when they decide to make it a wireless one
MOBA gamers dream but doesn't talk at all about why that is, hmm..
im thinking of buying this one but im scared for double clicks or right click not holding , the rubber part comming loose of sweaty palms ...
can you comfort me this won't happen ?
im finking of getting this . i hope it fits my fumb easily too!!
is it small to you?
@Hardreign
It’s spelled “thinking” and “thumb.”
This is utter terrible mouse.. How can they refresh a mouse TWO times and all they done is increadse its DPI?!
Using scimitar pro until now (3 years) and RMA 4 times, left and right click get crazy clicking just only hold 1 click ALL of them, and scroll wheel broken only once, got elite and STILL broken but bit better 1 rma, 3 generation with same broken such idiot product
WHO LOOKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUSE AND SAYS "Hmmm that's a very aesthetically pleasing mouse undercarriage!"... Who does that?
@@defiant4eva Thank you so much for your reply !! Keep posting : )
I will never use razer again as these new products are so much better build and more comfortable to use etc.It is also Cheaper win win.
i loved my naga and it died on me so damn quick
Not sure if anyone's gonna answer but I'll give it a try: Those who have this mouse: How loud are the clicks? I just bought myself a razer naga trinity and I'll probably send it back as the clicks are so loud it drives me crazy...
so this video unfortunately doesnt answer the question i had, i've been using the pro version and that it's build quality is TRASH the scroll wheel sucks and the left mouse button double clicks ALOT after 1 year or so. So i would have like so see if there were any differences from the pro version but i guess ill have to look elsewhere
Ok I'm coming from a G402. Massive? I'd say medium small, also I must have fat thumbs, wish the buttons was a touch bigger
hoping someone can help me disable the mouse from waking the computer windows 10. Its greyed out in device manager.
the software sucks, the remapping for the g buttons dont even work. ive tried to remap the g buttons to fit certain buttons on my keyboard and it doesnt even register, for non of the remapping options. such sophisticated software for nothing. the mouse is great but the software is ridiculous and there is no use in the mouse if you cant use the damn g buttons that are placed on the side.
Man, I had the same problem. Thank you! Saved US 150,00 that i spend when i bought it.
Does anyone know how to use the side buttons without re-binding them? Effectively just making them extra input buttons?
Still no wireless, still no mouse wheel tilt clicks. For the price its not bad, but the naga pro is honestly better in every way if you can swallow the cost of it.
Just ordered one, done with Razer, I’m on my 4th naga in one year… don’t even care if I get free replacements just not worth it anymore
iv'e heard nothing but horror stories about icue did they fix it by the time you made this video or? sponsored video and you can't talk shit?
Holy Crap. Setting this Mouse up is a pain! Instant refund
haha just buy a $5 mouse and call it a day casul.
Concidering the title, showcasing MOBA gameplay would have been a good idea.
I only wish the cable was replaceable (seems to be the main issue why my wired mice die) but I guess at this price point I cant complain too much.
I was looking for a replacement for my ancient Razer Naga (2014)
18000 dpi is for snipers plays at fps games
i've had this mouse and the mouse weel broke pretty fast on me and the left click also started to fail pretty early
How is the resistance on the side buttons? I’m concerned I would accidentally press them with my thumb while gripping the mouse
I want to like the Scimitar - But I just can't get over not having a place to rest my thumb, without risking accidentally hitting a key. I'm glad to return to my Harpoon instead.
I have a cheaper corsair mouse and when the lights are on the mouse gets really warm. :/ .
I wish they released it with the yellow accents like on the last model
There is one with yellow touches
Honestly try the Rgb NightSword. as an FPS/Dota player, fucking 10/10. Never in my life did I think a mouse could be this perfect.
whats the song in the background
The mouse is HUGE if you have smaller hands like me beware
moba gamer's dream? mobas actually don't have so many skills... this is good either for mmorpgs or macro freaks.
Looks solid overall but I don't see me replacing my Logitech G600 anytime soon, despite its hardware issues.
Just ordered this one after my 4th G600 kicked the bucket. Here's hoping it fills the void.
Thanks for the good review! I would love to see the time cut down though: it's a loong review for a mouse
So the rubbery grip is just a grip and not a CTRL modifier like on the Logitech G600?
I love mmo mouses, they are the best, I can't live without one now. I have a Logitech G600 which i use for a long time and it finally started to get a easy to fix defect, but you know, I love wasting my money, so I'm thinking of buying that mouse instead of fixing my mouse, which woudl take 15 minutes at best.
I just bought this for $1
Oooh, been looking for a good MMO mouse for work.
Left tilt= auto run
Right tilt= mount up
No tilt= pass
@traditionaltyler Logitech G600
I’ve been playing with the scimitar series for 5 years and it’s perfect, I don’t even play MMOS I play competitive CSGO primarily, though most people make fun of me for this giant ass mouse 😂
dont worry, im playing with an logitech g600, mainly FPS`s too and i wont switch to a shooter mouse. the number-pad is so handy. i love it
I have the scimitar pro which ive used for years, used the corsair first version before that.
I play at 18,000 DPI :P
can I make numbers 123456789 and make lets say a 10 button . (dot) with this mouse keyboard?
Yes
How to configure mode sniper DPI with this mouse???
Corsair just emailed me about it, I think I’ll get it
Looks like and sounds exactly like the pro with a different name. Even if it has a sensor upgrade to a higher dpi, that doesn't fix the real problems with these mice (I am on my 3rd thanks to the crappy wheel but I am a fan which is why I still buy them or don't just stick to the Redragon one).
pro has 16k dpi this one is 18k dpi , and the scroll wheel for me at least seems not as crappy lol
This guy sounds like the Corsair sales manager lol.
10/10 would shoplift again.
On my pro version it works perfectly fine both on my laptop and desktop and only have icue on my desktop as have corsair fans and aio ect installed and it remembers my profiles and keypad bindings perfectly fine no issues had mine over a year and never had any issues with it
I have the scimitar pro. Its a really good mouse to use, buy for me the software is such a hassle to use.
Are profile saved on the mouse itself or on the PC?
Help my ICUE don't have Surface Calibration option.
There a gaming mouse other than the naga that enables left and right clicking with the wheel? Not sure if Corsair does this.
logitech mice also do this
So...... after 5 years since the first version release, with 3 version out now, but still no left and right tilt scroll wheel?
Thats seem lazy to me, ill pass.
I need the tilt too, but it seems that they don't add it, so that the wheel lasts longer. Maybe becomes too sensitive.
How big is this compared to the naga? Looking to replace it
There's no scroll wheel tilt?
What if I wanted to play fps shooter?
I picked this up after my roccat nyth right click finally died. It's amazing how small this mouse is compared to the Nyth and other mmo mice. I like being able to change the position of the keys on the side. The keys themselves are slightly mushy. I'm trying to configure the keys but there is no default num key options? Having to program this is going to be a pain. Speaking of pain my arm and the right side of my hand ache. I guess the Nyth spoiled me. I think this mouse might be going back. I'm going to give it a good try for a couple more days.
How did it go?
@@markusblana2069 ha. It went back. I ended up buying a another nyth off of eBay and paying way to much sadly.
@@Odseus I am using the nyth and it is doing well but I am preparing for the day it will stop working. So checking ebay, corsair, razer, logitech, etc.
👑
I play 18000 dpi
Thank you for a very detailed review :)
why every one left alone left hand players.. we are desperately waiting MOBA mouse for lefties
@Ray hahhahaha
im left handed and prefer playing with my right hand with mouses
Razer naga lefty
My favorite mouse!... just need a Bluetooth version of this.
i have question thos the right click buttun wear and tear like pro? or the fix it?
i would like to know this too! i've had two pro models where the right click started having problems (stuck or double click) after two years.
@@indyjoe6 i fix it by soom vidoes and tabed part to it fix it for year then i buyied elite vers and thad solve proplem for ever becous if u open up elite has better plastic
@@warkiryu how long have you had the elite version?
@@indyjoe6 abut 4months and my friend adlist year and u can check if u open up better blasting the got rid of thad soft site thad was befour
So it is basically the Pro with a different name
@Ray It's also a bit lighter. The weight of the Pro was a deal breaker for me, but Elite is just the right weight (about the same as Razer Naga, which I replaced with Scimitar).
@@gygy82 I have a naga but it needs replacing and i was thinking of getting the scimitar, was it hard changing from the naga? I feel so used to it.
So the mouse requires icu to use the side buttons?YIkes. Not downloading that garbage for a mouse.
Okay
got it and used it for casual play not using the side much then i used it for 1 day of mmorpg gameplay and the bottom buttons all became jammed, its piece of trash
I have had this mouse for years spammed buttons millions of times all work like new.. ul
Left Handed?
180doman not when you’re playing mmos like wow and have a thousand different key binds, this shit makes it so much easier
my guess is you've never played mmorpgs, or you've never played them "properly".
when you're trying to circle strafe and attack at the same time you need your left hand on the WASD and your right hand moving the camera while holding down the right click. now unless you have a 3rd hand for clicking on your skills you're out of luck...
Page forward backwards?
Keybindings lol. I'm assuming you don't need to page around in an mmo so just bind them
