My dog ate my Razer Naga and I replaced with the Logitech. She has not eaten it. So based on this scientific conclusion, the Razer Naga tastes better than the Logitech.
I don't see much difference between the two. I play WoW mainly.

The ring finger click on the G600 makes it an automatic winner imo, bind it to a modifier and suddenly you have 24 macros at your thumb. Wish more MMO mice would include something like it

    • @tgoodjenkins
      @tgoodjenkins 3 года назад +1

i do that with my logitech g-13 except i have shit, alt, and ctrl all bound to it. can bind 3 action bars to it, and leave my g600 mouse in default mode so all the buttons are just extra mouse buttons instead of bindable keys. craaazy amount of shit i can have just like that.

    • @chaosordeal294
      @chaosordeal294 3 года назад

You can use Autohotkey to turn several buttons into modifier keys, or have one button cycle through a bunch of modifiers. You could readily map tens of thousands of macros onto your mouse or keyboard. Autohotkey requires another background app to run, but you can save your files and run them on whatever hardware you end up purchasing in the future, so they can last a lifetime.

Razer's literal namesake; mice; are junk. Chinese brands that knock off the shapes of Razer are better made by every metric [aka lasting over 2 years with zero issues, better plastics, better switches]. Razer should be ashamed of themselves. Harder with mmo mice to find a chinese cheapo, but they are around.

@@anasevi9456 No doubt that Razers stuff is junk, but they use exactly the same Omron switches as other manufacturers. Except for some new ones that have some fancy in-house switch.
That being said, my Naga started double-clicking way faster than my G600, so they must still somehow F it up.

@@wawatooki From what i have seen, and my knowledge of the internal components (the microswitches for example are Micron ones like everyone else uses) it looks to me like less of a QC problem, and more of an engineering/design issue. No idea how but they somehow manage kill the internals way quicker than other mice using the same stuff.
Still, good to hear the headsets/Keyboards dont suffer from the same problems. Real shame the mice do because i for one like the way they look and feel. Its just that they got some odd problems that other brands dont.

@@yolobeer990 Had a G5 from 2005 to 2012, then tried Razer based on guildies recommendations, as my beloved G5 was out of production. I don't actually remember how many Razer mice I went through between 2012 and 2018, but they all left click failed (outright or double) within 18 months. Switched to the Corsair Scimitar 2 years ago, but the scroll wheel broke and I can't find my receipt. Considering the G600 as the replacement, although the Scimitar seems to be rated higher by several review sites.

  • @Primu
    @Primu 5 лет назад +69

    Should be noted:
Logitech allows you to bind to virtual keys while Razer software limits you to binding to physical keys.
Logitech doesn't ever pester you to make an account on their website, Razer requires you to create an account and login to use their software and the only way to bypass login is to make changes to a file.
The 3rd mouse button on the G600 can be used as a modifier key to switch profiles for the bound keys effectively doubling the amount of keys available.
The G600 has RGB lighting while Naga is a single colour unless you buy the much more expensive Chroma version.
Razer mice typically suffer from the same double clicking fault - if this hasn't happened to yours yet after more than 1 - 2 years of use, you're extremely lucky - it's a very common problem that many people have complained about. They STILL haven't fixed it and their more recent products have the same problem. I owned 3 Nagas (along with various other fault-prone Razer keyboards/headsets) before I lost faith in the build quality of Razer products.
    Do not buy Razer products.

You have just been lucky. In general Razer creates low quality garbage aimed at teenagers. I've been through 4 nagas since 2014, luckily i had warranty and could just go and get a new one every time one broke. Done with razer products now though. They are low quality, that is common knowledge, and if your stuff lasts for a long time you are an outlier.
I used to have a bunch of keyboards and headsets from razer as well, they all broke as well. From light use as well. Out of nowhere random buttons would just stop working. Since then i've been using a Rival 300, G502, Corsair Scimitar and a K95 keyboard and a pair of DT 770 pro 80 ohm headphones and they work just as well as on day one, they also do not have that gross cheap plastic feel to them either.

    • @antongunther3977

every naga I've ever had (4 up to this point) has failed in some annoying way. The first two the left mouse button stopped working or started double clicking randomly. The third one wore out the right mouse button waaaay to fast without abnormal use and it started to randomly left click without me pressing anything. The one I am currently using has left and right mouse buttons that once in a blue moon double click and have overall reduced responsiveness. The current mouse also has a scroll wheel that no longer works (jumps the page all over the place with even a bit of pressure).
I'm not going to buy another razor product ever again. Their shit just breaks down too fast.

A bit late to the party, I've had my g600 since 2013 and it still works really well. Can't overstate the importance of the g-shift (doubling the button functions) allowing you to have almost all, if not all of your abilities and macros on your mouse. I'm only now thinking about replacing mine as the g-shift still works but its a little less sensitive after 8 years of abuse. I have had some software issues with it having it getting stuck in certain functions, but I haven't noticed it occurring in a while making me think they may have patched out the issue. That said, the hardware is solid. I highly recommend the g600 for WoW.

I have both. Bought them over 4 years ago when their price was almost 80-90USD each, I think. The Naga ended up with my wife and she's been using it for almost 2 years now. The G600, has been replaced with another G600 this week since my left click broke. I'm pretty much done with Logitech. In the last 5 years, we broke 2 ROMER-G keyboards (keycaps keep breaking and jumping our) and 3 mouses: M705, G403 and G600 all with the same issue (left click stating double-clicking). Wrote to support and besides the fact they answer incredibly slow, they have no service in my area that is willing to repair them. For a sensor that costs roughly 0.7 USD (plus the charge for the mouse skates - since they need to be replaced once you open them) and could be charged way more for the know-how, they're just cheapskates and don't want to help you.
I do not comment on the quality of the mouses; which for both mouses I have nothing to say, at least until you have the bad luck of having a click sensor breaking. I'm just disappointed I had to take actions towards repairing them myself when I was more than willing in having a representative repairing them even if at a higher cost.

DPI has nothing to do with mouse performance, its literally just "Dots Per Inch"
So it's just how sensitive it is, and how fast the cursor moves on screen. 16,500 DPI is something i don't think anyone on the planet can really use :P

I played vanilla wow with the Razer Naga Hex V1 which eventually broke 6 years later (right mouse button became erratic when holding it down) I then got Razer Naga with the 12 buttons on the side, that broke 2 years later with exactly the same problem. Next I got a Razer Naga Trinity, had that 9 months and exactly the same happened (RMB became erratic) got it replaced and then that broke after only 6 months exactly the same problem. Tried various other mice bought the corsair but none of them felt right so I bought what will be my last ever Razer Naga, I got the wireless pro it arrived yesterday and I insured it for 3 years so if it keeps breaking it's costing them not me this time. Razer mice imo are garbage built to break I wish I had watched this video before I bought it, that Logitech looks brilliant.

I've been using Logitech G600 exclusively for browsing and productivity since 2012/2013 so I can comment on their longevity. After typically 2-4 years of usage, the mechanical mouse switches (left and right click, mouse wheel click + left/right, extra buttons below the mouse wheel) do fail. The main buttons ones double click whereas the mouse wheel buttons simply fail (first you have to press ridiculously hard to make them register, then they stop working completely).
With soldering skills and tools, you can simply replace them. Especially the mouse wheel buttons are cheap to replace (Omron B3F-1000, about 0.25 USD).
If you still have your Razer mice with broken right clicks, repairing them or sending them to someone who will repair them is probably better value than buying new. For the main buttons, there are switches that reportedly have better longevity than the stock Omron D2F 20M (used in the G600, Razer Naga likely has the same), which are prone to double clicking early in the supposed lifespan due to a myriad of reasons (mouse design running lower voltage than minimum specified for this switch and not incorporating Schmitt trigger circuits to filter out chatter noise, likely to drive down production prices by 1-2 dollars, being just two of them).
While the button switches will fail after a few years on the Logitech G600, at least the sensor is very reliable. Also, the thumb buttons are metal (mechanical) actually, the inside of the buttons is silicone so it feels like a mixture of rubber-dome and mechanical.
The side buttons have very high longevity, however in my experience with every disassembly you put a bit of strain on the flex cable that connects the side board to the main board, and eventually you might need to replace it (12pin 5cm 0.5mm, very cheap). So be very careful when opening the mouse that you don't put strain on the flex cable.

If you would like to purchase such a mouse you have to build up muscle memory. I did it by only using the first row (123) for a week, then the next week I added in the second. For the third week I felt comfortable enough to try the last two rows too. Since you often put your most important spells towards the front, this technique ensures you learn them fast. :)

Finally replacing my naga after having it for 10 years, taken that many years of brutal use before the right mouse button is starting to be on the blink, sometimes not registering or spam clicking.
I always hear about Naga unreliability, but mine is so old it's still blue - will be hoping the next one can live up to that standard.

Nice video Hazel! $37 on AMZ right now for G600, I just bought one. I like it. The Naga is almost 3x more expensive, and prone to breaking. The Tek Syndicate gamer girl also said the Naga gets NASTY with sweat, gunk, etc and has to be cleaned every week or 2. The G600 has some kind of anti-sweat coating and doesn't get gross.

Nice Review! Very similar to you, I bought the Razer Naga for wow in 2010. First the standard one then the molten core edition. Both failed in 8 months to a year. I switched to G600 in 2014, I am still using it in 2018. Although I think the software sometimes bugs out, or maybe its just the mouse where I found the clicking might not work properly or it double clicks. Sometimes after bugging out, in becomes ok the next day. Nice review. especially knowing someone who had a very similar experience as me :)

I like how quick and concise the points are in this review. I did not know the Naga is mechanical, very interesting this review is swaying me to the Naga since I no longer trust GHUB and Logitech. One point I would like to make is the third primary click key is NOT configurable. In GHUB, you can set it to be different keys, however when I actually tried to use those keys it didn't actually function. My example is in League of Legends I set my ward key to be a key on keyboard (I tried numbers and special symbols, being mindful that they wouldn't conflict). For clarity of my example, let's say the key for my ward is "M". In GHUB it displays that the button is bound to M. So I tried using the key in game. nothing happened. Then I tried opening discord and my browser to see if pressing the key displayed M. Nope, again nothing.

I'm glad you talked about what that third button on the right of the G600 was. Logitech mentioned it on the product page but they didn't describe it all that well. I do play a lot of shooters, but definitely not at a competitive level. If I do have a problem with the lower DPI then I can always swap to my G502. Honestly though I just clicked on this to see a thorough overview of the G600, the Razer was never a consideration. I've never had an issue with Logitech stuff, but I had a Corsair mouse fail on me within 6 months and nobody I know has had a good experience with Razer.

I went from g600 to naga and I absolutely love the mechanical switches. G600 buttons are not tactile and u will probably find them cluncky. And this is coming from someone who hates Razer product. Like u I just wanted to try something different but naga is more agile and easier to do combos and feels more gratifying with those mechanical switches.

You missed the most important feature of the G600. If you download and install the software you can use multi-key macros.. This allows you to check to make sure your big dps monster spell is on CD before you cast a lesser spell. You can also put on a repeat option so you just hold down the key and not have to constantly click the key. So for example I want to use cobra shot.. first it will check if kill command is on CD. If it is on CD next it will check if Dire beast is on CD. if that is on CD then it will cast Cobra shot. This guarantees my big hitters are on CD before using the least preferred spell. These facts alone make the g600 a better purchase than the Naga.

I have a Naga Chroma and so far haven't had any issues with it about one year in. I'm a healer so when I'm healing raids I do it all with the side buttons. 4-12 are all various heals / cleanse / Wind Shear and works just dandy with mouseover macroes in those slots. The top two buttons behind the scroll wheel are for Ancestral Guidance and HTT, I flick either of those with my middle finger pretty easily. :)

This review is still very relevant in 2022. It also happened to be the video I watched that sold me on the G600. I’m not an mmo gamer but played LoL as my main game up until recently. I am not rough on my my keyboard or mouse. Around 2020 the logitech software was really bad for me. My colour profile never displayed properly, along with my dpi settings being completely different from what I set them as. I sent multiple feedback reports to logitech and heard nothing back. They made significant improvements to the software since. But it was incredibly frustrating to have to unplug and replug my mouse until it displayed the proper colour and dpi settings.
As for the third mouse click or gshift. I never used it, personally it seemed way too clunky and poorly explained. So not only did I not understand it’s use, you also can’t remap it! I was able to a couple of times but it never functioned reliably (I tried having it my toggle mute and push to talk). The software for binding keys was also very unintuitive. Every time I had to go to the software it was frustrating.
I have large hands and this mouse is extremely comfortable. Utilizing all the buttons only took me a couple weeks. My tip would be try your best to use the first six, and overtime add more keys.

I have owned both. They both worked great. Every Razer product I ever bought broke within 18 months. My G600 still works.
The button click is SUPER sensitive on my G600. I was constantly unintentionally clicking it. I superglued some short strips of foam rubber into the gaps of the buttons and they work wonderfully now.
The Naga was a great-looking mouse. If I hadn't thrown it away, it would now be a great-looking paper weight.
I also owned a similar twelve-buttons-on-the-side mouse by Redragon. It worked great, the software was cool. It goes toe-to-toe with the G600. Mine broke down, but I'm to blame. I kept taking it apart and installing third party firmware (hey, I get bored).
The Redragon had adjustable weights. The G600 has weights, but you have to damage the skates and open the mouse to remove them (which I just did, because it was pretty heavy).

Great review, you nailed it! I have both l mice and experienced the exact same issues. After 1 year Razer warrantied the left click switch. Now 10 years+ later the right switch needs to be replaced. So I will do that for my wife as she uses it.
While I waited for the RMA I purchased a G600 and it still works good 10 years+ later. And yes the Logitech software can be a pain in the ass. Props to Razer for the software but that's about it.

yeah those ones were the shit. i had 2 of the older nagas(not the molten) they had the same size buttons as the molten and not only were they the perfect size but they had a little bit of spacing between them to avoid clicking 2 buttons at once. i bought the newer naga a couple years ago and hated it. not to mention i returned it 3 times in one month due to them being defective on top of being shitty. the side buttons were way to small and close together which resulted in way to many misclicks. ill never go back to razer after that experience. i plan on buying the g600 soon because like the nice lady said in the video they have the logitech buff of long life. not to mention they look sexy and comfy.

It has had some contact issues with double clicks and such but those have gone in waves and it's never been a huge problem for me, since they've been so rare and only on the right click. I'm sure I can completely rid those too if I try to find a way and succeed in cleaning the contacts. I've been watching your WoW raid how to's and whatnot for a while. You do speak really fast but still easy to understand, always to the point which I appreciate. I too have used both mice but prefer the Naga. I can see why you would like the Logitech better but for me it mostly boils down to the mechanical buttons on the naga. Yes, it still does have issues and doesn't always last as long as it should. And it's still more expensive than the Logitech. But the Naga just feels better to me. I do have very wide hands for a woman but stubby short fingers so maybe that explains part of it.
These days though there is a different twist: Naga is not available new, just the Trinity which is larger, and shaped overall more like the Logitech. With 3 interchangeable left side panels. For myself, I'll never use anything but the 12 button one however I can see others wanting to swap around. My current Naga has nagging troubles that aren't terrible, it's mostly due to it using Synapse 2, whereas the newer ones use the newer version of the Synapse software. This thing can sit perfectly still yet the pointer will start drifting down the screen. All in all it's been a nice few years with it (and I bought it used in the first place) but it's time for a new one. I appreciate your review even if it's 3 years old and thanks :)
PS: It's your fault I'm now playing Black Desert Online and not WoW. Entirely your fault. Though I've been bored to tears with WoW for a while, I didnt know of a game to try out till I saw you talk about it. And it's absolutely positively completely nothing at all whatsoever like WoW or any other MMO I've ever played. Which of course fascinated me and drew me in lol. Been playing 6 months and loving the game. No, you're right, it is not pay to win. Pay for convenience, yes, but not to win.

Thanks for this video. I actually read some reviews online a while ago and got a Logitech G600 for around 30$ which is less than half a Razer Naga. The mouse is sooo good i'm going to buy another one in a few months just to have a spare, even though I'm not a pro gamer and I play MOBA games more often. For LOL players out there, top-class pro players don't use anything higher than a 3200 DPI, so don't even bother going for the 16000 and waste your money on a Razer mouse, which everyone on the entire internet is saying isn't reliable; Though I personaly believe it wouldn't hurt to have it on a G600.

I haven't used the Naga so I know nothing about it. My first mouse was the Logitech G502 and it was great but it just didn't have enough buttons. I upgraded to the G600 and it is absolutely amazing. I agree with everything Hazel says in her video; she is spot on in this review. If I ever wear out this mouse I will surely replace it with another G600.
Also, I opted to leave the G-Shift button in its standard configuration as I absolutely love having the extra 12 button mappings giving me a total of 24 thumb functions. And yes, after only a few days I had them committed to memory. I mainly play The Division and this mouse has vastly improved my game play.
