I loved the Logitech MMO mouse, and the only reason I ended up switching is that I really wanted a wireless MMO mouse. I actually loved the extra button on the right side of the mouse, I miss it a lot. I personally never accidentally clicked it, and found it incredibly useful. I hope they make a wireless version of it, I would love to go back.

I also like the G600. If you use the third button as a shift it is really useful. The other thing is the scroll also works to the left and right side, this is not available on the Corsair. The logitech software is very user-friendly while the one developed by corsair is complicated. I do agree that the Corsair is really beautiful but for me it is not that important.

I love my 35 dollar red dragon mouse. Has worked for over 2000 hours of just one mmo game and still going. No double clicks buttons are spaced well, fits my hand well. Two downsides is a cable that feels super heavy and the mouse is heavier but I personally love the mouse. Had it for years.

G600 mouse third button makes it so much better for me than the others, for example when playing blm in ffxiv, Holding the third button = thumb button do ice spells and utility, not holding and it's fire spells etc
Edit: If other mice had the G-shift feature I would probably switch

    • @bones8431
      @bones8431 Год назад

You can make your own version of G-shift in G-HUB.
      1. Create new Macro (No-Repeat)
      2. Start Now -> System -> G HUB -> Profile Cycle.
Its not totally the same since its more of a toggle rather than a hold, and you need to have it added on all profiles you create to cycle between them. So if your mouse has 13 Macro buttons 1 will always have to be the Profile button. But you'd have 12 macros for every profile and as many profiles as you want. Just cycle between them.

Why even use "g-shift" when the game let's you do what you need? Assign one of the buttons to modifier like "control" and apply to the right hotbar and be done with it. I wouldn't rely on a mouse to do functionality that basic control schemes in the game gives me. All I need the hardware device to do is send individual keyboard/keystroke commands to the game. I don't need the mouse itself to "mix" things for me.
The only reason you might do "everything" on your device is if a mass majority of people keep the game's core control scheme exactly the same, and you have a chance of needing to use your same hardware, on someone else's machine saving you time to have to "redo" the controls there. That might be true for a run of the mill FPS game, but is never true for an MMO. We all play so radically different.

G600 isn't the most ergonomic and also isn't customizable unless you open it etc... but honestly once you get use to it's size and shape it offers so many options thanks to that Gswitch function. My typical WoW setup uses both regular and numpad numbered buttons... 1 action bar as default, 1 with Ctrl, 1 with Shift, 1 with Alt and it's doubled by using the Gswitch function to toggle the numpad buttons assigned to 4 more action bars in the same way. Yes, it's a total of 96 buttons right under my thumb. Add a customized G13 on top of that and you're in for some seriously mad MMO gaming.

So you discredit the greatest thing on G600 as a negative? Are you serious? The G600 is THE BEST MMO mouse, simply because it has a modifier button built in. So you have an effective 12 extra buttons compared to any other of its kind. I use it for 5 years now, it works just as it did on day1. The mouse is amazing!

The third mouse button on the g600 is fucking amazing. It’s amazing for macros, going from high dps to low dps in a click and going back to high by releasing, is fucking amazing for fps and other games where you need precision. Once you get used to it, you can’t live without it.
But yes, for *some* mmo’s it might be useless. But for fast games where you need to be fast but precise, the g600 is king.
It just need a modernized version with a faster laser reader, higher dps, easy weight removal/adding and it is the best god damn mouse ever.
I have used my g600 for about 5 years, and it’s only NOW doing the double click thing. And know what? I’m getting another.

I've used nagas for half a decade, and scimitar another half. Now back to Naga X simply because it's the first mmo mouse that isn't a brick... I also _much_ prefer the naga shape over everything else. Scimitar shape is its biggest problem, it just sits sideways in my hand and it keeps bugging me even after years of using it. Contrary to your opinion, I also find the scimitar thumb buttons little bit more difficult to navigate, especially the middle buttons (2,5,8,11). They are flat. Thumbs are big. It's much easier to fatfinger something like 4+5 when you're going for 5 on the scimitar. On recent nagas the center line has the opposite side of the key raised and it gives a strong tactile cue to where your thumb is and avoids accidentally thumbing the buttons to the side. That to me is absolutely much more valuable than the texture difference between odd and even rows. Little pet peeve, but I also absolutely hate the rubber ring finger rest on the scimitar... it's impossible to keep clean, being rubber is wears out and just feels kinda nasty. Scimitar cable is also straight from 2010 and very stiff, it needs to be modded out with something usable. Same story with stock feet, they are not amazing.
Scimitar is definitely well built though. I'm on my 4th naga of my naga career. I hope Razer QC is better nowadays, but it certainly wasn't great back in the days, only time will well. My scimitar only started failing after 4 years, so it was my longest lived mmo mouse as well. I also prefer the corsair software. It's slow and bloated, but has more powerful macros. But for me, naga is the way to go, especially with the naga x being the first mmo mouse that doesn't weigh a ridiculous amount and now comes with a somewhat decent stock cable (and feet) too. Oh, and Naga X happens to be currently on sale, $39,99 on amazon.

biggest issue im seeing with the naga X, and why ive been hesitant to buy it, is the side button layout would be better imo with the hex ring design, that gives you an area to rest your thumb on the side of the mouse, when you are just moving it and want a firm grip on the mouse not wanting to press anything. Which is why I'm tempted by the naga trinity or the pro... but the trinity is almost twice as expensive and the pro even more so, and both heavier are larger I believe. Pros and cons to each, wish there was a hex ring version of the X.... seems like they used to make something like that, but its now discontinued, I guess that design didn't sell as well.... I think im gonna go ahead and order the X, amazons refund policy is good enough that if i don't like it a refund will be pretty hassle free.

    • @SaltyMaud
      @SaltyMaud Год назад

@@anab0lic That's a fair concern, but not something I've ran into in practice. It's a palm mouse and a relatively light one at that, you don't need a particularly firm grip on it and the side buttons aren't _that_ sensitive that you'll accidentally press them. The only gripe I have with the X is that the sensor doesn't perform quite as well as most other gaming mice, notably it has very poor accuracy for micro adjustments. Don't know which _actual_ sensor they use on the X since "5g optical" is just a Razer marketing term applied across multiple different sensors, but the one they put on the X certainly isn't one of the better ones. Though given this is isn't my FPS mouse, that's not really a relevant concern for me - it's still perfectly serviceable for most use.

    • @anab0lic
      @anab0lic Год назад

@@SaltyMaud well i don't plan to use this mouse for gaming, my pro fps days are behind me haha. Could be useful for moba/rts games though, which requires a lot less perfect accuracy. I just want something that has a bunch of extra buttons, for keybinds, as I need a million hotkeys for the 3D software I am using... and trying to do it all on keyboard is like playing a piano one handed. Also needs to be comfortable for hours of use... which the heavier bulkier models have always put me off buying. This actually weighs less than what I have used for the last 15 years or so - the mx518, I doubt i will like the shape as much though, as the way I hold my mouse is perfect with that design, but I think the extra buttons will compensate for that. Pairing this with the razer keypad I have is going to make me a hotkey machine.

3:04 I've been using MMO mice since release of Razer Naga Molten Edition in 2010. Back then Razer mice were built to last(like most companies make things when they are new). That mouse never gave me a single problem until it died on me in Dec 2018. The laser straight up shut off. I used and abused that mouse SOO much! I have gone through 2 new Razer Naga "trilogy" mice since then.. That will show you that they're not building them to last anymore. They're building them to burn out and profit. Both mice ran into double clicking problems and side panel button double clicking problems. I'm officially giving up on Razer now. I know a lot of people were having problems with the Trilogy Naga and I completely agree now. Also, the Naga Trilogy is much larger than the original/molten edition mice. I don't have large hands and I imagine most woman don't either, so, it would turn off these types of customers(not that they tell you, but it wont lead to more sales). I recommended the Razer Naga molten edition to so many people back in the day.. I no longer will recommend Razer products because they're just cashing out these days. I'm looking to swap companies. I also swapped companies for gaming keyboards too. I use Corsair now for keyboards.
I know the Scimitar was trash back in the day due to many problems and software issues/lack of support.. but I imagine they may be better now(used to keep up with mmo mice a lot more back when I played more often). Watching your video now and some other people for 2021 updates.
EDIT: Forgot to add in: The Naga takes a little practice, but the tip of your thumb should sit at the 1-3 buttons and IP joint of your thumb should sit on the 10-12. Pad of thumb sits on the 5/8 buttons. I use thumb to press 1-6, 7, 9 and IP joint to press 8(sometimes pad for 8 depending on combo), 10, 11, 12.
----Razer Naga Molten Edition mouse was the BEST MMO mouse ever. Just throwing it out there! All my buddies that used it as well also agree. If they kept that quality, Razer would be #1, no doubt...but they dropped the quality and kept the prices.

I have noticed this as well with the quality. My Naga Epic I bought around 2010 is still going strong. My first Epic broke due to me spilling water on it. I loved it so much I jumped on my motorcycle and bought one the same day I killed it. And it is going strong. I use it daily for gaming and for my work. It never gets a break and it doesn't need one. It fits my hand a lot better than the newer style they went with around 2012.

Over the course of 6 years I've gone through 2x Logitech G600 and 2x Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite. My first G600 held up for a good while, probably because I wasn't playing too much MMO at the time and was using other mice. It got sent to the drawer when the left click button switch started failing. I then bought a second one, and after a year the scroll wheel works only intermittently and is very loose. I then got my first Scimitar and really fell in love with it. The sensor seems far superior to the now 10+ year old one in the G600, and the adjustable range of the keypad is an unbeatable ergonomic feature. Unfortunately, the build quality of this mouse does not hold up in the long term, not even a year in my case. The matte finish soon started wearing off, the keypad switches started making an annoying creaking sound and within a year the main right & left click switches started to go bad, possibly not due to the switches themselves but deformation of the plastic part that strikes the switch (thats what i read online anyway). I have 10 year-old mice that work just fine after double or triple the amount of use, something tells me these mice are just built poorly. I've never owned a Razer Naga, but I doubt it's going to be any better.

i have the corsair scimitar, it is the only good mmo mouse, because the buttons arent teeny tiny, so if u have medium/thick fingers, u dont hit 2 buttons at once. But what bothers me is the poor quality of the mousewheel, which alot of ppl on the internet including myself complain about breaking so shortly after buying it. It scrolls down, but if you scroll up, it scrolls back down, or jitters back and forth.

I have all the mice mentioned in the video.
Corsair build quality 5/5 - very durable good quality plastic and aluminium.
Razer build quality 3/5 - plastic feels cheap and hollow to the tap
Logitech G600 build quality 5/5 - very durable built like a tank.
I've bought all of them trying to find the right one, the razer Naga has issues with the switches I think, the middle button on mine seems to work then not work properly at times some times it doesn't register the click. The G600 is a great mouse, but the angled buttons I could never get used to. The third button is accidentally clicked too often for me but I love the fact this mouse has it where other mmo mice don't. The Corsair Scimitar is interesting to the competition but offers little. Just about the same as the other brands less a third mouse button. However it does come with the adjustable side buttons. My main mouse I use regularly for playing star wars the old Republic mmo is the razer Naga purely because of the size of the side buttons they are very easy to use. Not happy with the plastics used in the build though.

That's funny. I also had several Razer mice die within 1 year or so, but I also had the Corsair break on me as well. I play an MMO that uses 3 buttons and the easiest layout is to use the scroll wheel as the third button. On the Corsair, the scroll wheel died - I think it was about 9months after starting to play that MMO. Red Dragon had the same issue eventually (took longer) where the scroll wheel malfunctioned about 1 year in. Logitech G600 has managed to survive that game for several years (I played the JP version with my old white G600 which I unfortunately lost and I played the Global version with my black G600). The shapes on all these mice are very different so I think the best idea is for people to buy the one that fits their hand the best, tbh. Unfortunately for me, none of the 4 MMO mice I tried are 100% comfortable (tiny hands, tall mmo mice), so I went back to the one that had the best longevity and features (I use the side button to turn my entire 12 buttons into num-pad buttons for those MMOs that only offer 0-9, numpad 0-9, F1-12).

    Comfort: naga>scimitar>g600

Ease of use: scimitar=naga >>g600 (due to ring finger shift key and sensitivity of LMB/RMB/shift key. takes getting used to)

In the end, mouse wheels will always be depending on how you treat your mouse, and build quality. You might get a dud, or you might get a normal one (this goes for a lot of tech products), and if you buy online, if your postal services are complete cunts or not with your package, lol. There should never be a gamble, imo, but it's not like they can do a quality test on all their products before they ship it out, since most build factories are semi-automated/fully-automated these days.

honestly the razer naga series of mice is the best, it can be literally anything you need it to be and when i was first getting into pcs i had no idea which type of mouse to get so i got a naga and ive never gone back since i can play whatever game in whatever way i find to work for me.

I used to have a scimitar pro wired but I sold it a couple of years ago, they’re the absolute best mouse I’ve ever owned.
I didn’t do any gaming with it (I’m not an MMO player either), but as someone who has bad hands, I found it invaluable for keyboard shortcuts in Maya and other applications.
Picking up the wireless one for £100 on Amazon tomorrow as I was torn between that and the razer naga trinity, but just remembering how good the scimitar was, I am going straight back to what I know.

my g600 lasted me 7 years of heavy gaming, the naga molten before it 1,5 years. Now i have a naga x and am quite happy with it, hope it lasts a bit longer than the old one. the g600 was perfect for me, but the naga x is just more modern, better sensor, lighter and the side buttons are really nice and tactile.

I used to have a naga I bought second hand, used it for about a year before it shit the bed. Thought i'd try out the scimitar, I liked that you were able to move the buttons on the side. After I finally got all my keybinds set up on it, the 4 button on the side jammed up half way through the first dungeon I ran with it. Took it back and swapped it out for a naga again, it's held up for 3 years since. I think when this one inevitably craps out, I'll try out the G600. Price is tough to beat.

After watching dozens of other videos on the subject, this is the one that helped push me to order the Scimitar Elite. Tried the Razer Naga X and Pro but couldn't get used to the shape and buttons. Gave away the X and returned the pro (twice). Have an OG G600 that I tossed in a tote within 5 minutes of unboxing years ago because the third mouse button was a huge no from me. Was hoping to see some improvements on the Naga V2 Pro such as the Corsair's textures, button 5 raised notch, and moveable keypad but none of that came to fruition. Love Razer keyboards and FPS oriented mice but going Corsair for MMOs! Thank you for this excellent video!

so how are you finding the scimitar...? my two main concerns are a) looks kinda bulky and heavy to use, b) there is no place to rest your thumb on the side of the mouse, you would have to rest and grip into an actual button.... which seems like a poorly thought out design.

I as a gamer, wow, cod, have three mice. In order I liked them. (all last me several years, swap between them regularly)
    1. Razer Naga Pro (just bought one, previous wireless died after 4 years)
    2. Razer Trinity
    3. Corsair Scimitar
    4. Anything that is having 12 map-able buttons on the side.
    5. the rest ... (well, if you are not a gamer, the other options serve you little to no purpose, get a better keyboard BEFORE you get an expensive mouse. Thank me later)
150€ for the number 1, IS expensive, since I game up to 12 hours a day, still, well worth it.
If you don't want to be financially castrated ... the other two will do fine. Me, I just like them less because they are wired. It is almost 2022 and you still prefer wired? Why? Out of juice? Connect the wire 30 mins WHILE gaming, then freedom from wires again. Besides, even gamers sleep, that is when the mouse is plugged in, you recharge, mouse recharges, tomorrow , both ready for action, just saying.

Great video, Think i'm going to get myself the Corsair Scimitar.
I haven't used an MMO Mouse in a LOOOONG time, since I have not played that much WoW for the past 10 years or so. But with DF i'm pretty keen.
Currently have the Logitech G502 lightspeed wireless, this is a fantastic mouse, but it's just not suited for MMOs.
My first mmo Mouse was the Naga, way back in WoW LK/Cata, but since then I feel Razer charge too much and are of lower quality, so I avoid them.
Later I had the Logitech G600, which I loved, the angle on the buttons helped for sightless navigation with my thumb, but the G600 seems to no longer be available, at least not here in Australia.
I tried one of the older Corsair mmo mouses, but the wheel would broke on me really easily, so I went back to the logitech.
One thing about the full 12 buttons though, is I never really matered using the rear 6 (7-12) was pulling my thumb back was a struggle, perhaps this new feature on the SCIMITAR being able to slide it back/forth might be benificial to me.
    thanks for the great video.

I currently have a Logitech G600 and it is very good. It is not "sexy" but that is a dumb criteria anyway. It's very solid build, a nice shape for large hands, and I really like that third main button. The keys are fully macro-able as well using Logitech software. Logitech G600 is the best MMO mouse to date, exactly because of the 3rd button, which acts as a modifier, and because of the solid build. Think about it, a modifier on the mouse means you do not need to press a modifier on the keyboard. Also G600 has Lua scripting, so you can implement something like an Alt+Tab / Alt+Shit+Tab sequence. No macro can do that correctly, as macros are just pre-recorded. Also G600 has scroll wheel tilt, which the Scimitar appears to be lacking. But the regular scroll wheel up/down events are sadly not programmable on the G600. Recently EVGA has made a similar MMO mouse (X16 ??) with a modifier under the ring finger, but without the Lua scripting. So there is still nothing out there that can beat the G600.

I really wanted to keep the Scimitar but I couldn't live without the left and right mouse wheel buttons. So I use it at work instead. I also had an issue with the iCue software where it would hard lock my PC. Doesn't happen on my work PC so I'm sure reinstalling Windows would have fixed that issue, just didn't want to at the time.
The Logitech I couldn't get used to the way it felt in my hand and that third mouse button was to much.
So I'm stuck with the Naga. Two og Nagas died after a year and the first Naga Trinity developed a repeating right click issue within a year. To their credit Razer did replace it but again within a year I'm already starting to see the issue creep back in. Their build quality is just so bad nowadays.

Immediately trusted your review since you had a lackluster experience with razer

Ive been screwed by my razer Naga for the last time, the removable button pad stops responding. Then I have to remove it and wipe the contacts in the middle of a game.

I just bought the Scimitar yesterday. Very comfortable in the hand. The worst feature for me is the scroll wheel. It is so sluggish, an absolute deal breaker for me. Next issue is the side buttons, they are very squishy and soft. They are also too flat for me. Will be returning it. A shame, because the build quality feels great otherwise.

Sorry to hear it wasn’t your preference. I actually love the scroll wheel and side buttons but of course it’s totally preference. I hope you enjoy whatever mouse you land on next!

After having used a Logitech G Pro Lightweight for years (i also play CS) i can't go back to a wired mouse. Like, why are they all wired? No way i'm getting the G600 either it came out in 2012 lol, they haven't updated it so that makes sense but the others?

I don't use RAZOR products anymore either, They are like YAMAHA motorcycles, Look Lovely, But deep down, for the price range, Really cheap materials. I love the corsair Scimitar, I got mine on a Black Friday amazon deal for £49.99 UK, I have a Corsair K100 Keyboard to. Never had an issue. I will say the new .5 update for ICUE has some issues though.

One major downside of Corsair for me is, they don't have a left-handed Mouse. That's something razor provides that Corsair does not. I actually use bed for games other than MMOs

I had a scimitar but it just felt too small in my hand. I have big meaty claws, though, so for the average person it's great. I had NO problems with it otherwise.

I just picked up the Schimtar and I have to be honest.. I'm not feeling it. idk its like... the buttons feel too easy to press. My hand tingles after I use it because the whole time I'm needing to make a very conscious effort to not grip it too hard. i don't think its for me.

G600 is a mmo mouse i use the mouse 3 to help tap target while healing. It’s the better option than using the F keys in ff14.

Oooh I love to have the Left button! On Corsair it hard to keep track of all of 12 buttons. In a quick game. I looked up G600 people say it never breaks down. Might have to get that just because out of the 3 it lasts! nothing worse then having a mouse that does not work.

The scimitar broke on me within 3 months. The naga broke in the same amout of time I had two of them. My RedDragon M901-k-2 has lasted longer than both of them. 20 bucks.

Had my scimetar for 3 year now and its been dying for about 1 year, were it suddenly stops for a few second, seems to be something about the cable. In that time ive not found it kind of uncomfortable as there is no real shaping its just rounded, the 12 mmo buttons are to big and have been getting stuck and jammed after the first few months, it halso has yellowed material infront of the lights on the 12 buttons instead of white like the rest of the mouse(you can even see it in the pic at 7:15), so it looks ugly and dirty and the rubberized finish has been wearing of for the last year. The censor, and the mousewheel is good but appart from that im dissapointed for the price.

Does the corsair scimitar require the software to use the side keys? The g600 has a default profile from m1-m9 without the need for software use. @SouzyLIVE
