This woman is one of the finest vocalists of all time. Just that good. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. Beautiful woman, timeless, huge voice.
Like Whitney, she was the whole package. Like Hathaway, her loss was a blow to music.
    We love you, forever.

Love, Love, Phyllis Hyman First time I heard that song it gave me goosebumps from head to toe. Even if I play it a 100 times I still get the bumps. She made you feel every word, note and she makes you feel like that really happened in her life. She died too young and she wasn't recognized for the amazing singer she was.

Phyllis Hyman was and is one of the greatest female singers of all time. She is definitely an unsung hero. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform in concert many years ago and I can tell you this; her performance was so unforgettable that it blew me away. Phyllis knew how to captivate her audience from the time she hit the stage. Not only could she sing, she was stunningly beautiful and she exuded so much sensuality and sexiness that she had the whole audience in the palms of her hands. Absolutely the best performance I have ever seen. May she RIP in Gods loving arms.

Phyllis Hyman sang from her soul. One of the most underrated singers from the 1970-1980 period. Phyllis had this deep register that told her story of despair. She was suffering from depression. What I totally understood was the way she could cry while she dang the song. She was a powerful singer that could take you to the rafters. Gone much too soon.

I LOVE PHYLLIS. I started buying her albums a year ago. Now I've got them all. I'm reading her Bio by Jason Michael. I recommend "But I Love You" from the Mike Douglas Show 1980. Or anything from her Somewhere in my Lifetime album, my favorite of hers.

Such a beautiful beautiful woman and very talented. Love her voice and style. No one can take her place. Just raw talent. Her emotions and pain speaks through the music she sung. I felt in love with her whole catalog. 1st song I heard from her when I was younger..... Meet me on the moon. This live version I shed a little tear. ruclips.net/video/C86UAJOSIUU/видео.html
Wish she was still with us. I think during the late 80's and early 90's she felt alone and complacent by the other ladies in the industry and the upcoming whitney houston from the documentary I seen. So sad..... RIP Phyllis ♥️

Interesting the so called "trinity" and I get that but for me.....I would prefer to listen to Phyllis Hyman over WH or CD. I cant listen to an entire album of any of those three. Give me some Phyllis, Angela Bofil, Stephanie Mills, Gladys Knight, Minnie Ripperton, Roberta Flack, Donna Summer, Sade any day.

Hey Patrick, I've enjoyed your reactions but I've noticed multiple artist repeat with songs that aren't their most popular, if I may I'd love for you to react to another female Legend by birth of her Dad Mr Nat King Cole and by her own right Ms Natalie Cole,, although she has a great catalog of her own there was a PBS special she did entitled Ask a Woman Who Knows , she's of course singing live and there two songs in particular I'd like for you to consider from this concert Tell me all about it & Calling You.. maybe her video with she and her Dad Unforgettable.. ohh do some Olivia Newton John as well. Thanks

Ms Hyman isn't underrated , people who know music know this sweet velvety songstress.. unfortunately as beautiful as she was physically and talented she got into her own way and no one could save her.. it's so sad the most brilliant artist are often struck with deep depression and they seem to able to hide it all too well.. Beautiful Phyllis

Whitney, Mariah and Celine couldn't touch Phyllis Hyman. Clive Davis and the music industry put Phyllis in the background so they could sell Whitney's and Sade's records. Only Stephanie Mills was in her class of singer.
