My experience with subway was watching the staff using a knife with dried mayo on it . I asked for a 12 " sub they finished making it i loaded it with everything on it and the sub maker cut it in half with the knife with dried mayo on it and that's when i told her she could start from scratch . The staff tried to tell me there was nothing wrong with the knife so i pointed out the dried mayo on the knife and the dried mayo on the plastic knife holder . Next i was told that's the way they always do it . So i said well i'm not going to start an argument so i said thanks anyway and left .

From the get-go just straight up wrong. As a former Subway employee, I ask what type of bread, pull it out & cut it, and proceed to ask what meat. The toasting question doesn't come until after that. Furthermore your offered solution is bogus and has no effect on the outcome
I worked at 3 different subways for 3 different owners. All of them kept the bread overnight but for the most part we wrapped them in trash bags still following fifo unless theyre hard. Second the mestballs do get old and nasty and if there is a significant amount left they do get put back in the walk-in which is improper, and lastly most locations do just refill the bottles of sauce instead of using clean bottles but not all locations. It mainly csme down to if the employees weren't too lazy or if even the store has enough bottles to swap out with clean ones. *edit to add i would still eat there. From the get-go what you said had absolutely no point to it. You are one person. Just because YOU dont ask if they want it toasted from the start doesn't mean other people don't. I know this for a fact because the subway right across the street from me always asks if i want toasted before they make my sandwich. And she never said ALL employees do it she said SOME employees on a reddit post said these things.
Exactly. I've never been to a Subway that didn't ask if I wanted toasted after they already started making it. And people complaining about day old bread... Gimme a fucking break. Bread at the grocery store is sometimes sitting on the shelf for a week or more. Both Subway and Jimmy Johns have preservatives in their bread. Crying about 1 day is stupid.
@동주 oh for sure. But your guys ingredients are fresher since California grows a lot of its own producr, its also close to Mexico where most of our U.S produce is grown. Most people don't realize how much fruits and veggies we import from Mexico.
RAY OF DEATH Don't take these vids seriously. They pick on rare horror stories to make the entire company look bad. The truth is you face the same amount of risk making food yourself at home. The only time I got food poisoning was from making my own food, never from a restaurant or fast food joint. All that being said... I would still prefer to make a sandwich at home than go to subway.
Everything you said about subway is just complete garbage. I worked at subway for 6 YEARS. This is how every process starts: Greeting, we ask them what they would like on what bread, we take the footlong out and cut it if they want a 6”. The other half does get put back, but is usually used within an hour. We ask if they want cheese or deluxe, the the question for toasting or heating in the microwave. Day old bread isn’t even that big of a deal? Like the bread you buy at the store is older than that lmao what? By the end of the night we have MAYBE 40 pieces of bread left, and we keep it behind a door to keep it from getting hard, if any bread is hard before cutting, we put it in waste. The meatballs are checked regularly, if they get crusty or start to gel or they get smashed, it’s trashed. We do not re-use bottles. We would get shut down if we did. My store and every store in my city operates the same, we all have the same owner and cleanliness is a big thing at our stores. We are even required to change gloves after every meat. If you handle beef and then get a chicken sub you have to change gloves, same for veggie subs and if you get any sauces in them.
BigBoiMo1995....well at least they are working and not sitting in their parent's basement unemployed playing video games like you! What if they did that while going to school? Don't be an a**!
BigBoiMo1995 I worked at subway from the moment I was legally able to work until like 20. I also had a second office job during the mornings. But yeah I guess making cash makes me a loser lmao
I am having a feeling mashed is creating controversy ....i mean i assume they get paid "security" money from these rest. Chains and those rest. That dont comply ..... "things u should'nt order at so and so"
@@BigBoiMo1995 it could of been just a second job for fun income. Think before you type. Ive been working for one for 4 years just for extra money so i can have a sick truck. Not because im some "loserrrr". Im motivated. Not a loser And with my experience, everything "real shittt" said is true
BigBoiMo1995 who cares why insult someone over what job they have at least they have a job and aren’t on government assistance. You’re entitled to your opinion but the sandwiches I made were not shit. Legal age for working where I live is 16 and I made a few dollars over minimum wage, but you don’t pick and choose when you haven’t even finished high school yet. I stayed after I was 18, I just recently quit due to scheduling problems with my other job, school, and making time for my husband for it all. Money is money. Our stores(I worked at half of them through the years since they’re all owned by the same) are very clean, and do not partake in any of those things claimed in the video. We don’t do it because we wouldn’t done to us. The only thing you might knock our stores for is that we close earlier than we say the dining hall is closed two hours before close when it actually isn’t just because we don’t want to keep cleaning over and over.
I guess we, in South Louisiana, have it good, because there's a mom and pop poboy shop on almost every block, and it's tough to decide which one is better. Their specialties, and most popular ones include, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and roast beef poboys,. But there are also a couple dozen other ones to choose from such as hamburger poboys, fried softshell crab poboys, (DELICIOUS, but pricey), ham, turkey, chicken, etc. We also have our share of many crappy national chains, but they are rarely a serious option.
I have publix who does Boars head subs here. Why would I downgrade to subway? Subway is for when I'm in the middle of nowhere with no other options and desperate.
Maybe they should tell the truth. SUBWAY: "Maybe day old bread or maybe fresh baked daily bread...we cannot tell you for sure" . Of course, that doesn't sounds like a good marketing strategy for some people. Truth is not always marketable, unfortunately.
All of the sandwiches listed in the video are much healthier alternatives to eating cold cuts. That veggie sub from Jimmy Johns looked delicious. If you got it with light mayonnaise, whole wheat bread, and spinach instead of lettuce, it's pretty healthy.
I was at a subway once and watched an employee drop the sandwich meat, on the floor, out of the corner of my eye. She looked quickly to see if any customers saw it. Thinking that she was not seen, she quickly picked it up and threw it on the bread. It wasn't my sandwich but I left in disgust.
I just started working at jersey mikes but it just opened and it’s the only corporate store in the state. I can tell you their standards are pretty high on freshness, quality and keeping things as clean as possible. The franchised stores are way different so I’ve heard. With that being said our chicken is a bit suspicious just because it comes frozen as a rectangle in 4 sheets of chicken meat I guess that’s just not why I expect when I think of chicken lol but it tastes good. My favorite sandwiches are the og Italian, Philly cheesesteak, and the Buffalo chicken hbu
I work at subway, and ive never had bugs in the chicken and its always been cooked. Edited: Also we always clean the sauce out the bottles before refilling them, whoever doesnt needs to be shut down.
The only exception to not cleaning the bottles out is if they've been refilled minutes prior and it's in the middle of a lunch rush, in which case it's slightly more acceptable, because there hasn't been any crust forming.
@Evie Henry Clearly there are going to be owners/manager who will not stick by the rules. You will, however, find those owners/managers in regular restaurants as well.
Most of the stuff said about subway is extremely untrue. Like the bread for example when you open the store you come in an hour early and make bread. The old stale bread gets thrown away. We ask people if they want their subs toasted because 90% of the time people get their subs toasted, at least at the store I work at.
Yes, but people don't go to Subway so they have to buy the ingredients, make the sandwich and clean up after. Also how do you know the ingredients you buy have not been treated badly.
I saw a subway employee spray surface sanitizer on the sandwich prep area and never covered up the salad and meat fillings , the sanitizer over spray covered everything 😱 poor training , this was 5 years ago, never been back since .
So they just... lie, Subway does? Because the first ingedient in the wheat bread is not white flour... as a former Subway employee, I'll ask that you do OBJECTIVE research before you make stupid claims. Legally, they couldn't even allude to it being wheat bread if it wasn't wheat bread.
Well all bread that isn't rye or spelt is wheat flour. White flour is just way better for making bread. The gluten development makes it chewy while still being soft. 100% whole wheat flour makes a decent bread but it turns out more like a brown bread or sort of like a tougher, dense cake. Could make decent sandwich slices but it's not going to be a sub roll. Most whole wheat recipes are mostly white flower and taste different and amazing lol. They're not lying, people just do know enough about what they're ordering, even at a bakery.
The "more soy than chicken" finding was a flawed study. Have you priced imitation processed chicken? It's more expensive than real chicken. Why would they use something more expensive?
My source is the grocery store. My son is vegan. I actually buy the chicken substitutes for him. They're a lot more expensive per pound than real chicken. Example: Walmart sells the Gardein™ Meatless Chick'n Strips 10 oz. Bag for $3.97. That's $6.35/pound. Albertson's is currently advertising boneless skinless chicken breast for $1.99/pound. The chicken substitute is more than triple the cost of the real thing. Just because an anti-fast food article says something doesn't mean it's true. Go to your local grocery store and price the chicken substitute and the real chicken. Then use some logic. Why would subway use a more expensive product to cut costs? As for the soy found in the analysis? Simple. They use a little soy sauce in their marinade. That doesn't mean it's made of soy.
Simply not true regarding chicken breast. It does not and never has come in vacuum sealed bags nor is it boiled in microwave. Lol!! They come in frozen five pound bags, five bags per case. Most shops keep them either in a hot well or heat them in toaster while on the bread. They are right on as far as the meatballs. The best time to get bread is AFTER 11:00am-1:00PM. This way you pretty well know that all day old bread has been used up The best time to get fresh bread is at around 2:00-3:00pm.
Used to work at Jimmy Johns. Sure, the calories and sodium are pretty high, but if you're looking for something healthy, just order an unwich or, better yet, don't go to Jimmy John's. The restaurants are squeaky clean though, and the ingredients are fresh as hell. The only thing that was a little weird was the turkey, which seems pretty processed when you remove it from its packaging, but everything else is top notch.
I used to work at Jersey Mikes. The thing about the chicken parm is 100% true. And it is the same for the meatball parm as well, it is cooked completely by microwave. Other than that all of the deli meat is just deli meat. Jersey Mike gets it from the same distributors as Boars Head. But they do make all of their bread fresh daily at least where i was. And I know that because they would send employees home with all of the extra bread at closing time. And we had to prep the bread to be baked the next morning. The food overall isnt that horrible its more that they treat their employees terrible and don't follow childrens labor laws.
The seafood!!! I work at one and we just dont sell it enough so it could be old!! And btw most subways HAVE to make bread twice a day. So stopping in at lunch or right before close shouldnt really matter.
As a former subway employee I can tell you that the bread actually is made every day, not kept overnight and is kept in a moisturizing keeper all day. As for bugs or worms that would be from the factory since the chicken comes pre packed. Throw tha pkg away and report it.. The chicken is changed regularly. That is why subway franchize overhead is soooo expensive. Lots of good food gets thrown to preserve freshness. The subway I worked at was run by people from India and was immaculately clean.Everything was also under surveillance cameras to insure protocols. Not all subways do what you mentioned. They are each independantly owned. It s not a company.
Not sure what the real complaint was on subway’s 9 grain bread. It still had the 9 grain blend. That’s a problem? It’s like getting mad at a fish bowl that has a fish in it. Yeah, it’s mainly water, but I’m pretty sure you can’t be mad at a fish swimming in it. Also, you’re mad about their chicken being mixed with soy? I thought soy was a healthy alternative. If you like the taste, again, where’s the problem? Get your shit together mashed. First world problems 🙄
@@kyrozephyr8628 There are always risks with food when you're eating out; you never fully understand what goes into your food when other people are cooking it, especially when it's manufactured or processed off-site. If you want to be more positive of what you're getting, it's better to cook for yourself. However, even meats and other groceries are improperly labeled at the markets as well. Subway incorporates the grains, as advertised, and we should expect meats to not be 100%, especially after the McDonald's chicken nugget rumors. Subway provide products that is fairly reasonable. You can find faults, better or worse, at any fast food chain. People are so eager to point fingers at the chain, such as McDonald's made me fat, but the food chains provide convenience. To expect more out of what they're providing is to hike up the price drastically to appease people for "100%" meat. It's a give and take. It's your prerogative to trade that that quality with convenience.
I've spent a few years working at Subway and none of that stuff is true. But I will say the wheat and white bread are both made from wheat flour but... syrup is added to the wheat to get the color. So, the white is actually better for you.
i worked at subway for some time too and can agree on most of the things that were listed but i'd like to add some things green peppers and tomatoes might not be as fresh as you think since the vegetables that get ordered are often, especially in summer, already in a bad state and close to rotting mushy parts get cut off but the rest is still used the green peppers will also be extremely sticky and slimy if they are several days old so keep your eyes open for that mustard and ketchup are the sauces that get picked the least in most of the restaurants, they might get cooled most of the time but if your unlucky the content might be months old
Shocking news: cheap, low quality chain restaurant uses cheap, low quality ingredients and cost-cutting measures. More at 11. The worst of it day-old meatballs and chicken stuffed with soy? I do worse stuff than that in my own home on a daily basis.
When I worked at Taco Bell I noticed a lot of fat people would order the Taco Salad and a Diet Coke. I guess they thought the word "salad" meant it was diet food. Ironically, the Taco Salad was the highest calorie item on the entire menu.
Thatll never happen. We got 5 on one road over here in Michigan theres 3 subways for every mcds I love the chipotle too!! - and if you didnt know this we just changed the formula for it 😢
@@JamFlexx well considering my owner owns almost all of them i can tell you we are doing very well. And even if one or two shut down its NOT gone forever. And if corporate feels the owner is inadequate they can literally take back the subway and run it themselves. I probably know more than you thought.
Levi Crame there's also one remaining Blockbuster. that's how franchises work. why are there five Subways on one single road? how long is this road? you keep saying "we" do you have stake in Subway? pretty sure you're not allowed to change a recipe without authorization.
@@TardRepellent its about three miles. Thats just on that road. And sales are only going up. Blockbuster isnt a good comparison only because streaming and internet killed blockbuster. So unless a new invention sends you one straight through your tv, subways have nothing to worry about. And no i dont have a stake in subway but its been my second job for 4 and half years so i kinda consider subway like a good friend. No need to be so literal. I had no say in the sauce, and that is why there is a sad face, so i dont understand your confusion.
Having worked many places like these )fast food and big 5-star restaurants in the rich part of town) in high school and college I can say anywhere you go to eat will be like this I even worked in a big chain grocery stores. They did that with the salad bar and dressings too only lettuce and watermelon got thrown at night because it wouldnt look like it was fresh in the morning everything else got thrown out after 4 days. Dressings were always just refilled, Flies would end up in the food, and we were told just to pick out the flies, flip the food into a new container with new tongs, and it was put back. If you haven't made peace with this when you go out to eat its best to stay home and cook your own food. No, it doesnt't do any good to complain even to cooperate because what they tell you and what they do to correct this is too very different things. My friends and I compare horror stories about past jobs like this all the time.
I live in Delaware and pride myself on causing chaos so one time I called a subway store in Texas that a long distance friend of mine worked at thinking that she would answer the phone and she didn’t but I had already called so I had to say something. This guy started talking and said “Thank you for calling Subway, my name is Charles, how may I help you?” And I proceeded to ask him if their wheat bread was grain free. He told me that he couldn’t answer my question and asked me for my phone number so he could call me back with an answer. I never got a response. Charles at Subway in Texas, if you see this please call me back.
Lol, that toasting before making the sub is so wrong. We ask if they want it toasted beforehand with streak and the chicken sandwiches because they need to be warmed up regardless. We won't ask if you want it toasted beforehand if you get any of the deli meats because those meats aren't required to be warmed up. Not because are bread isn't fresh lmao
I worked at Subway for a year. To be honest the bread was always fresh. What you should avoid though is the turkey chicken meatballs and ham. Roast beef is fine. The meatballs are alright when theyre fresh, but it's a crapshoot of getting em freshly heated up in the microwave before they're turning black cause the heater has eventually burned em. That said, wouldn't recommend subway to anyone wanting fresh food. Fresh it is definitely not. Also, just make your own sandwich. The ingredients are much cheaper, don't take long to prepare, and aren't full of hundreds or calories.
So basically never eat at subway. I worked for firehouse- can attest everything is fresh. Even though we have to toast the bread because it literally finishes cooking in the toaster.
Being from New York and living in Florida now I really miss those real delis that made real good sandwiches. With always fresh bread that's delivered that morning from the bakery. And they always use quality condiments, not some mayonnaise like product
Ever since SW cheapened out on their vegetables on their sandwiches, I refuse to darken their doorstep. Where you used to get 3 slices of tomatoes per 6" sandwich, they cut them back to only 2 slices. Used to be able to get a handful of green peppers, onions, pickles, etc, they now skimp on them giving you a small (emphasis on small) scattering and if you ask for more, they charged you for double. Turn to their meat and you can read a news paper through the slices as they are sliced so thin. Then they jack up the prices all the while cheapening their sandwich. SW drove me straight to Jimmy John's as they do not skimp on anything. The writings on the wall for SW, let's see how long it takes them to read it!
If you ever see a Jersey Mike's Sub Shop, go in and be surprised at what a fresh made sub is like ! Not the precut meats that get slapped on subway subs. Jersey Mike's rocks and has the best subs I've ever had.
Jimmy John's is actually considering dropping the #13 Veggie Club. No one buys it, it takes too much cheese (FOUR portions of cheese). I recommend the #6 Veggie SUB as an unwich with extra veggies.
I work at a sandwich chain and if food is being left out that long it would have to be a pretty slow store. I work at 3 different locations and everything has to be replaced throughout the day, Between early morning regulars, lunch rush, and dinner rush everything runs out pretty fast especially during the rushes.
honey oat, spicy italian, pepper jack cheese, add jalapeños and toast, add spinach, black olives, green peppers, banana peppers, more jalapeños, salt and pepper, parmesan cheese and sweet onion sauce 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
If your worried about freshness in a restaurant just say you want fresh fried chicken or French fries and don’t mind waiting. Most restaurants don’t mind making product fresh knowing you don’t mind a 5-10 min wait.
I'm an AGM at a Jersey Mike's Subs and we discontinued the #18 chicken parm because yes it did suck, the chicken was supposed to be microwaved I put it on the grill the bread doesn't get micro waved anymore also it was only for 5 seconds to temper the bread. All the meats are high quality with way less chemicals then the meats you buy at Walmart or HEB. of y'all really trip over day old bread then you might wanna think twice on the bread you buy from the store lol. If you keep buying cheap you'll keep getting cheap food. Go the extra mile and treat yourself right to great quality subs cut infront of you! Jersey Mike's Subs 😀
I work for subway for over 10 years and all I have to say if you run into any of these issues(aside from the chicken) they aren't being trained right. I've never ran into any of these I've also been a manager at a few stores and I dont allow any of that. But well that's just my experience
I can't even get past the FIRST one without calling total BULLSHIT. I worked at Subway for YEARS (different ones from different owners) & we DON'T USE OLD BREAD. We bake it fresh all day. Each store calculates how much bread to bake based on sales. If you have to bake more throughout the day, you do. Unused bread at the night shift gets thrown out. You shouldn't have too much left if you calculate properly.💯
You can still eat at Jersey Mikes. It still hasn't sacrificed quality and taste for profit. Subways, on the other hand, is the McDonalds of all sandwich chains. It used to be great back in the 90s. I remember getting footlong cold cuts for $5 and loving it back then. Now it's a tragic, pathetic shadow of what it once.
On my husband's account-P.S. Forgot to mention,I brought back my sandwich after I told them of the problem.I was polite about it & got $ back.I hope no one else had that prblem & that it was fixed.I'd hate to think someone else getting sick or making a scene.
I never eat at cold sub places, there's one in Montreal called Dagwoods that places cheese meat on one slices early cleaned and if you are allergic to any of the ingredients it just bad.
You can tell if the bread is fresh when they cut it. Request another if it looks crusty. I actually like it a little crustier for Italian subs, so day old is fine for me.
Never order tuna at subway. I worked at the branch in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd. dropped the tuna on the floor by accident and the owner made use it and serve it.
On my husband's account-About a year & a half or so ago,my husband & I went to our now local mall, ate Subway near the food court.I got the chicken??? Tasted SYNTHETIC & it was nauseating. That Subway has since closed....
I use to eat sandwiches on a regular basis I just go to the supermarket (preferably Publix for this) buy 1/2 of whatever lunch meat and cheese I'm feeling that week from the deli and a couple $1 baguettes from the bakery. I have shredded lettuce and condiments at home. I can make 3 sandwiches per 1. 5:1 Subway sandwiches since those are 70% bread
Do you have any sandwich shop horror stories?
Mashed subway bread has rubber in it
Mashed How about dropping food on the floor, picking it up and putting it in your sandwich !

Living in NYC there's absolutely no reason to ever go to a subway shop, we've got corner store delis everywhere that make the best sandwiches.
Exactly
Living in a small college town, there is no reason to eat anywhere else but subway lol
there is a subway a half a block from almost on my street i walk the extra 2 blocks to Publics to get a much better sub
@Ben Finny yea it's one of the best things the food variety, you can find whatever kinda food you want 24/7.
@동주 oh for sure. But your guys ingredients are fresher since California grows a lot of its own producr, its also close to Mexico where most of our U.S produce is grown. Most people don't realize how much fruits and veggies we import from Mexico.
Y’all act like you don’t eat day old food
@iRifle87 REFRIGERATOR!
@iRifle87 your mom goes to college
Let's just leave it at this "Subway is fast food" therefore highly suspect
Seriously, what do they think “leftovers” are? And being able to utilize them is the true earmark of a good cook. 🍔
10 years running a subway... this video is funny as hell 🤣
This is how every process starts:
Greeting, we ask them what they would like on what bread, we take the footlong out and cut it if they want a 6”.
Not a loser
And with my experience, everything "real shittt" said is true
Whole lot of "may" and "could" in this video.
That may be true, but the video could be speaking the truth!
This just made me want subway, who's with me-at?
Me too I want a oven roasted chicken on wheat lol
yeh, and i'll still go for one of my faves, the meatball lol
Me
I have publix who does Boars head subs here. Why would I downgrade to subway? Subway is for when I'm in the middle of nowhere with no other options and desperate.
@@OmegaGamingNetwork facts. Boarshead is good!
Whats so bad with a day old bread?
8phips8 Exactly what I said. People are so Goddamn sensitive
8phips8 Idk... Try asking the French that very same question, and see what they say?? 😉😏🥖🧀🥖🍷
@@marieantoinettescake9513 Obviously they'd yell "I SURRENDER!" and run away.
Maybe they should tell the truth. SUBWAY: "Maybe day old bread or maybe fresh baked daily bread...we cannot tell you for sure" . Of course, that doesn't sounds like a good marketing strategy for some people. Truth is not always marketable, unfortunately.
I eat about 2 day old bread...
I worked at Subway you have to have make bread everyday and most days there had to be multiple batches of bread often like 2 or 3 batches
Exactly!!! Mashed getting thirsty...
It wasn't my sandwich but I left in disgust.
so you allowed someone else to get it? You bum.
I wonder if someone paid mashed to make this hit video on subway
Quiznos.
Dunno about that, but there's a massive lawsuit going on right now because Subway was printing people's credit card numbers on thier receipts.
Most of the stuff said about subway is extremely untrue. Like the bread for example when you open the store you come in an hour early and make bread. The old stale bread gets thrown away. We ask people if they want their subs toasted because 90% of the time people get their subs toasted, at least at the store I work at.
I make my own sandwiches. They taste better. Make my own sauces and dressings, too. It's more work, but it's worth it.
Yes, but people don't go to Subway so they have to buy the ingredients, make the sandwich and clean up after. Also how do you know the ingredients you buy have not been treated badly.
mashed do you actually eat anything other then grass
They smoke that
I saw a subway employee spray surface sanitizer on the sandwich prep area and never covered up the salad and meat fillings , the sanitizer over spray covered everything 😱 poor training , this was 5 years ago, never been back since .
No matter what people will still go there and order it 😑
Knight Slasher I go to wawa which is probably just as bad.
Especially the meatballs
still eating at subway for life
I work at Subway and these are lies 💀
@poida Actually the bread is fresh , we make 60 of each kind of bread each morning and throw out whatever is left. And if we need more we make more.
I mean like you can just eat at home. That would solve all of your problems and it would be cheaper
Is it just me or does mashed never actually give you any useful information
i used to work at a subway and can confirm everything said about practices there is 100% true. atleast at the location i worked
Guess who always eats oven roasted chicken and will always stay eating it
Lol same
Haha same bro.
Mike from New Jersey?
I used to work at Jersey Mikes. The thing about the chicken parm is 100% true. And it is the same for the meatball parm as well, it is cooked completely by microwave. Other than that all of the deli meat is just deli meat. Jersey Mike gets it from the same distributors as Boars Head. But they do make all of their bread fresh daily at least where i was. And I know that because they would send employees home with all of the extra bread at closing time. And we had to prep the bread to be baked the next morning. The food overall isnt that horrible its more that they treat their employees terrible and don't follow childrens labor laws.
I have a Jersey Mike's in Linglestown but, I've never had that before and it's an hour west of my house.
The majority of this video only picked on subway
That's because, due to CBC Marketplace's reports about Subway restaurants food quality, they deserve it.
There is nothing wrong with day old bread.
Now I am hungry for a toasted Subway Sandwich.
You quoted Reddit like it was credible source... I have never watched one of your videos before and I will not be back again.
I love how the actual former employees are debunking the hell out of the stuff said in the video.
I ate subway a few hours ago, jokes on you guys cause that Chicken Bacon Ranch melt was awesome
The only thing i've ever ordered from subway was a toasted meatball sub. guess im gonna die lol
Same here lol
I've spent a few years working at Subway and none of that stuff is true. But I will say the wheat and white bread are both made from wheat flour but... syrup is added to the wheat to get the color. So, the white is actually better for you.
You're paying $5 for all that food you don't have the right to complain.
For all WHAT food? When I make a sub, you can hardly close it! They are skimpy on their meat!
4:35 " who makes this stuff up?" .... her voice is so cute when she said it
Soylent Subway is PEOPLE! It's PEOPLE! Wait . . . Maybe I'm a little early on this.
i worked at subway for some time too and can agree on most of the things that were listed
but i'd like to add some things
green peppers and tomatoes might not be as fresh as you think
since the vegetables that get ordered are often, especially in summer, already in a bad state and close to rotting
mushy parts get cut off but the rest is still used
the green peppers will also be extremely sticky and slimy if they are several days old so keep your eyes open for that
mustard and ketchup are the sauces that get picked the least in most of the restaurants, they might get cooled most of the time but if your unlucky the content might be months old
Thanks for basically redoing the CBC expose. Tough work that copy and paste :)
I'll legit miss the Chipotle Southwest sauce from Subway *when* they eventually get shut down.
Thatll never happen. We got 5 on one road over here in Michigan theres 3 subways for every mcds
I love the chipotle too!! - and if you didnt know this we just changed the formula for it 😢
Levi you don't know how franchising works do you ? Reason there is more is because of startup costs. No correlation to longevity.
I don't care if the bread isn't fresh. I still love it
Slander!
I have been saying this for years! SMH
i think in malaysia, its still ok
When I worked at Subway we made the bread fresh every day. Very rarely would we have much bread left over for the next day.
Supply and demand. You keep buying crap industrial food, they are going to continue to sell crap industrial food.
If you agree with this vid then don't eat at restaurants or shop at stores 😆😆😆
Lol, that toasting before making the sub is so wrong. We ask if they want it toasted beforehand with streak and the chicken sandwiches because they need to be warmed up regardless. We won't ask if you want it toasted beforehand if you get any of the deli meats because those meats aren't required to be warmed up. Not because are bread isn't fresh lmao
Subway is the absolute worst!
it all sucks
I loved cold cut combo with Italian dressing.
stop it mashed
The bread for early morning is cooked night before at subway and left in the storage ready for early orders then the rest cooked ready for the day
Being from New York and living in Florida now I really miss those real delis that made real good sandwiches. With always fresh bread that's delivered that morning from the bakery. And they always use quality condiments, not some mayonnaise like product
I‘m now going to a Subway!
I’m from Milford, CT and I can tell you first hand, that all of our subways suck, and we’re the official world HQ.
All the products at Subway's are turkey-based in the US except the Black Forest Ham, which is not actually Black Forest.
I work at 3 different locations and everything has to be replaced throughout the day, Between early morning regulars, lunch rush, and dinner rush everything runs out pretty fast especially during the rushes.
the first ingredient in every bread except cornbread is usually white flour... Rye bread included
honey oat, spicy italian, pepper jack cheese, add jalapeños and toast, add spinach, black olives, green peppers, banana peppers, more jalapeños, salt and pepper, parmesan cheese and sweet onion sauce 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
As a sandwich artist for two years, I've found that the bagged chicken, which is all of the chicken, tends to turn blue fairly quickly
If your worried about freshness in a restaurant just say you want fresh fried chicken or French fries and don’t mind waiting. Most restaurants don’t mind making product fresh knowing you don’t mind a 5-10 min wait.
Three Subways: Managers knew me as regular. When something tasted off, they exchanged it on the spot.

I haven't eaten for about the 5 days before today. Starving again after only 4 hours. Heading to subway asap.
stores are a little more strict in the UK so no worries
ANY sandwich ordered early, before lunch at Subway is day old bread, you can taste it immediately.
Reddit .... because thats the best source for information ... right ...
Mashed:The sauces

This video made me so.............hungry!
