I have the P10W and, although it is older and with a pretty old version of Android, I think it's really ahead in terms of writing experience due to the wacom layer.
I was really hoping Mebook launched a new version with wacom this year but guess we'll need to wait for that...

Yes it's time to wait a little longer we wish

Thanks for the review Peter. I hope Meebook switches to WACOM soon! I have an old Boyue T62 and a Boyue Mimas 10.3" e-note device that I love. I was going to buy the Meebook P78 Pro, but had to pass because it lacked the WACOM layer. I don't "do" special pens that require batteries.
I ended up buying the Boox Nova Air 2, and it's been disappointing. The pen it comes with is not great, and I especially hate that lacks an eraser on the end. I also was surprised to find that I generally dislike the Boox software. It's more complex that I need it to be, while simple navigation can be frustrating.
I have a Kindle Scribe, which has the simplest UI out of all the brands I've used. It's actually quite nice except for the teeny tiny system text - even when it's set to Large, I can't read the time while I'm reading or the popup dictionary definitions. They need to add a Jumbo text option for that otherwise awesome 300 ppi screen. The Scribe feels very nice to write on too, similar to my Mimas.
The Boyue software/user interface is in the middle as far as features and complexity, but it just makes sense and has everything easy to read and access. I especially appreciate being able to have that top bar while reading, to clearly see the time and easily tap the light bulb icon to adjust the light. The other companies' enote devices make it more difficult to adjust the light. (I adjust it often, while reading, to minimize eye strain.) It's also quick and easy to get back to the home screen on the Boyue Mimas. If Meebook sold a 10 inch e-note device with 300ppi, speakers, glowlight and a WACOM pen, I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Maybe later this year? Or next?
I also have the Bigme Inknote Color Plus which has a few issues too, like ghosting and page turn swipes failing to register, but in some ways I still like it better than the Boox software at least.

What do you think about the Inknote Color Plus pen latency and precision? I bought the meebook p10 pro, but, to be honest, the pen is terrible.

    • @goodereader
      @goodereader  Год назад +2

Yes, we have said it in nearly every one of our videos. Active capacitive pens are the dollar store products of the stylus world
Nothing against the individual companies that use them. Companies as big as Kobo use them. But when it comes down to it, they are underperforming, costly, and there's zero cross compatibility
      Wacom is king

@@goodereader Yes, it's crazy that Meebook used active capacitive. I've wondered if it was a supply chain issue and that was all they could use? I hope they switch to WACOM for their future releases. Have you spoken with anyone at the company about it? I expect it's hurt them financially a lot more than any money they saved.

@@blueskies1014 Thank you for the answer! Glad that it resembles the scribe, I've tested that one and it is as good as writing with the s pen on tab s8, for example.

@@carlosmiguel7547 I spent the last hour or so comparing the writing on my eNote devices. I think one of the reasons the Kindle Scribe has been a favorite for me is because I like its Fountain Pen option so much. (The Pen option on the inknote is a decent substitute, though the line is not as thick.)
Analyzing how much they feel like writing on paper... the Bigme Inknote Color Plus seems to be the clear winner. It has less slip and more resistance - even compared to the Scribe, which is still very nice - and it sounds a lot more like writing in a real notebook. The feedback while writing on the Inknote Color Plus is really nice.
I'm also getting used to using the erase buttons, and as long as I am holding it correctly so the buttons are easy to find, they are quite convenient and work well. In the Inknote menu bar you can change the eraser settings so that when you push the button it will erase either "track" or "range", which is helpful. (I guess you can also set it to "all" but I wouldn't want to accidentally erase everything.)
I like the feel of the Scribe pen a little better though, and that may be because it has a flat edge that helps stabilize it while writing. It also works great on the Inknote Color Plus.

Yeah for sure, they're not trade-offs from our review, they're honest trade-offs. We need to approach each item objectively as we do on our channel.
This unit is priced perfectly, but you do sacrifice this that and the other thing
